Explorer Ultra Blue

It's alright but id rather smell like nothing then smell like spoiled Dior Sauvage. Indigo 87 at Aeropastale smells better, and that's only $20

I can’t figure out a good spot for this to sit in my rotation. I typically wear it around the house after my evening shower, or if I’m going down to the store then coming back home. It doesn’t have a strong sillage and it’s at the lower end of moderate longevity. It’s not an attention grabber at all, but it’s just fine.

Is this the red-headed step-child of the Explorer line? Based on reviews you'd think the inspiration comes from Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense Pour Homme having a secret love child with Ralph Lauren Polo 67 EDT, but I think I get more Polo Blue with different fruits and more pepper. The opening is sharp bergamot, pink pepper, and exotic fruits (I don't really think Polo 67 here, but I sort of get it, just dialed back fruit). The heart is the marine accord coming from the Light Blue Eau Intense concept: salty, airy, and watery. It is also a little bit ambery. In the base I get peppery patchouli, light woods, and just a hint of leather. It is not nearly as salty as Issey Miyake Le Sel D'Issey but it goes in that direction, and is considerably peppier than what people might think. If you took Le Sel, Polo Blue, a splash of Polo 67, and a pepper shaker, you'd get Ultra Blue. Somehow it works.

Perfectly average. Somewhat of a let down given the rest of Montblanc's lineup. This is a slightly spicy blue "shower gel" scent. Doesn't last as long as I'd hoped either.

Generic aquatic blue scent that's heavy on the marine notes with a slight salty accord. Very basic but I like it. If you're indifferent to aquatic blue scents you probably wont care for this but if you like that scent profile you might enjoy this scent. It's an aquatic marine scent with no citrus or sweetness, which is what most of those types of scents add. It's also a good out the shower scent with a bit more depth than other ones that people recommend for out the shower.

This is a really well done blue fragrance compared to what is on the market. Typically to me, blue fragrances do not last too long. This one does, and it is perfect for everyday summer wear. When I spray it, in the opening I almost get a mix of floral & marine at the same time, which to me is what makes it unique. It is not groundbreaking, but if you need an everyday scent, you should pick this one up. I recommend using fragrance discounters to find this one, do not buy it at full retail price.

A super safe and fresh summer signature scent for casual occasions. It’s fresh, pleasant, and extremely easy to wear. It is slightly generic, but that also makes it a very reliable fallback. I’ve worn it a lot and still really enjoy it, but I’m currently looking for new summer DNAs that feel a bit more exciting and distinctive love-

I really wanted to like this, but I don't. The scent is just OK, nothing spectacular. The longevity is the worst part. It lasts about 30 minutes, if that. Who designs these lifeless scents and decides that are good for release?

Strong sea salt note on initial spray, then followed by melon. Solid scent overall, especially good for the price.you can get it for. Not an amazing scent, but good daily in the summer

Decent scent. Its kind of generic. Its dirt cheap. Id spend a few bucks more for a designer. The performance is alright. 7/10

This was a pleasant smell. I couldn’t smell it at all after 10 minutes. This is a pass for me.

Very generic "Blue" fragrance. Nothing to make it stand out. Makes no sense owing it if already have a Blue fragrance in your collection, but a great pick if this will be your first Blue fragrance. Nice bottle design, average juice. Good value at ~$35.

This is by far the worst freshie I've smelled. Putrid, sour, and overly synthetic.

smells like synthetic toilet cleaner to me idk why I genuinely dont like this at all.

Very typical marine overpoweringly oceanic sour scent. Doesn't smell bad but I've come to realize anything with a marine note bothers me after about 5 minutes. 2/5

This one is good for summertime or hotter days, currently I’m using this for the gym. Smells like a detergent though 🤣 7/10

Honestly focuses too much on trying to be special for me, it tries to be a “special” blue scent like Versace Eros or Ultra male. The opening from the bottle is good but the wear down just tries too much to be different. 6/10

ill be honest it is very mid, the first 30 mins smells terrible when when it dries down it smells better but its still very generic

Can't really go into depth about it because I remember having it about a year ago and quickly gifted it to a co worker. This fragrance was a let down. I don't want to completely destroy it because it's not bad. Just wasn't for me. It smelled like the epitome of generic. It was uninspiring. With that being said, nothing about it struck me as unpleasant in the general sense. It was kinda just very very meh. Almost annoying it was so generic.

Got a 200ml bottle of this stuff new for £30/$40 and in that context it's incredible. To get 200ml of an amalgamation of everything I love about blue freshies from three masters of their craft for less than a take out is insane. It's clean, fresh, blue, it opens with a peppery zingy zesty fresh burst of citrus and pepper and settles into a fruity marine accord with that unmistakable ambergris base. Does it do anything new or exciting or revolutionary in the pretty generic genre of blue freshies? No. Does it smell good and project and last and was it an absolute bargain, hell yeah.

The dry down of this smells very similar to Guerlain L'homme Ideal Sport, which is quite an obscure discontinued fragrance. I'm sure someone catches my drift, I can't be the only one who notices.

Generic, uncle-pleaser. It’s an office-safe fragrance. It has moderate projection and longevity. In every sense, it’s a very ‘mid’ scent. It’s not offensive, and if you want to get a stylish gift for your loved ones, it’s a safe and affordable choice.

honestly, it’s not bad at all! i think it smells pretty nice, not the most groundbreaking blue scent, but it’s inoffensive and nice for everyday wear during those warmer months. usually pretty cheap at discounters so if you can get it for like $30usd or less, i think it’s a really good deal! not groundbreaking but also not bad. solid 7/10

!!!!! If anyone calling this an easy dumb reach, it's because it would easily be considered dumb to reach for this unless you absolutely love black pepper. Should have called it ultra pepper Blast elixir. It's personally Not for me. Explorer platinum is one of my all time favorites from my ridiculous collection. And I'm on my 3rd bottle. Scent preferences are like ass holes.. everyone has a preference ........... THE END........

I blind bought this MB Ultra Blue because it was only $23 at GiftExpress. I'm a huge fan of Mont Blanc Explorer the OG but this Ultra Blue is so weak and tame that even at $23 I feel like it was a fail since I have many blue scents that out shine this one. It's a will not buy again for me and I might even try to sell this one off to my buddies.

This scent is not similar to the original Montblanc Explorer, but it fills a very similar niche in terms of usability. Ultra Blue is an easy-to-wear fragrance that stays out of the way, perfect for the office or any space where you don't want your scent to overpower and annoy people. Some folks may believe the DNA is common and overdone, but in the end it is popular for a reason- it's pleasant to wear and it's pleasant to smell on others. Explorer Ultra Blue is definitely a blue fragrance with the expected versatility, dress it up or down as you wish, this fresh aquatic can be worn as a chameleon that suits most situations. I think I like this even more than the original.
