The result in both is strikingly similar: an extremely cool, distant, and aloofly masculine first impression. THE TWIST: DARK, HERBAL DEPTH As soon as the icy top note fades, the true character reveals itself. Both scents settle into a deep, dark, herbal bed: Ungaro III relies on a razor-sharp interplay of sage, coriander, and an almost dramatically elegant rose set against dark woods. Legend EdP steers in a more muted, modern direction - grounded by oakmoss, a soft leather note, and a dry wooden structure. THE VERDICT: STATEMENT VS. DAILY DRIVER Ungaro III - which costs under 20 Euros - remains the undisputed favorite. Hailing from an era when fragrances were allowed to have edge and character, it doesn't offer a static scent trail, but rather a dynamic journey. Montblanc Legend EdP is a child of its time. As a modern designer house, Montblanc plays it safe: all rough edges have been meticulously smoothed out so the fragrance succeeds in department stores. The outcome is pleasant, smooth, and highly reliable - but also linear and lacking real surprises. It's the well-fitting, but ironed-flat uniform and ultimately unnecessary.

I liked this more than the edt. Stronger and more presence with the violet leaves. Sweet, musky and masculine, with a clean base, reminiscent of Fierce and even axe Apollo (but much higher quality and mature). Gives off a well groomed, kind of casual vibe. Perfect daily fragrance, in a nostalgic for the 2010s kind of way, at least for me. Good performance too. Highly recommended as it’s also affordable.

I have emptied a small bottle years ago and decided to order a travel size to revisit this fragrance, after more seriously stepping into this hobby. I am afraid this is no longer my cup of tea. I think the violet stands out too much and ruins the experience to my nose. I am glad I moved on.

I like this a lot. If it was more unique and closer to PDMs Percival, I’d love it. Either way, this is a great fresh scent that can be worn any time of the day for most occasions. However, I probably would not wear it for date night or anything similar. Its main accord is listed as woody but that’s not what I get when I smell it. At the opening, I mostly smell soapy floral and citrus notes coming from the violet and bergamot. The dry down smells similar but not as strong and I pick up a mild leather note. I got this for $49 at Burlington. Its usual price is $100 to $130 but I do not think it’s worth that price. If you’re hoping for something unique and special, like the price implies, this is not the fragrance for you because you will probably be let down. It’s similar to PDMs Percival but it’s only about 75% accurate. If you see it heavily discounted and you’re looking for a good fresh scent that’s easy to wear, that’s the only time I recommend buying it.

My review is like the photo negative of some of the other comments. All the elements aren't blended together perfectly, they're blended together equally, which makes it generic and bland--how music sounds with all the levels on the equalizer the same. It does smell like the Abercrombie and Fitch STORE or a department store in general and that's a bad thing. Yes, it's inoffensive enough to wear as an office scent, but really it's just boring. I dig one influencer's content, but after he took it to the streets and most women judged Legend as average, he downplayed the women's reactions cuz he didn't want to hear it. Percival might last a little longer, but this is a much nicer fragrance. I have both and I really prefer this one. If you want the beast performer (not necessary the best smelling, but still higher quality than Percival) then try Foconero by Tiziana Terenzi

Opens like Percival, and dries down a bit like BR540. It does appear to be of a notably higher quality versus the Legend EDT. The violet is prominent up-top and notes appear layered, yet somehow in the same ballpark of the broader dna. One of the best looking bottles out there, specially the cap.

I’ve been using this fragrance a lot over the past month, and I’m actually wearing it again today as an everyday scent at the office. There’s not too much to say it’s not something that’s meant to stand out. It’s simple, clean, and has that familiar Fierce like vibe that makes it feel safe and easy to wear. It’s the kind of fragrance you know most people will like fresh, sober, and reliable. It gives off that “organized person” impression, the type of scent you’d wear when you want to smell neat and put together. I’d definitely buy it again, tbh. Overall rating: 6.5/10

Kinda reminds me of axe body wash but I still really like it

Smells like high-end dryer sheets. Super clean laundry fragrance for men. Could be unisex. Opens super designery. Objectively nice but nothing mind-blowing. Easy reach.

Reminds me of Nivea for Men aftershave lotion. Anyone who says "fresh clean laundry" has a strange washing machine. It ain't laundry, it's that classic "fuck-boy before fuck-boy was a thing" vibe. Adidas shower gel, Nivea for Men, Kiehl's razor bump defense lotion, etc., etc. Very good if you can get it for cheap. Linear development, good longevity, does the job.

This is really good, very elegant, clean fresh linen. The violet leaf gives it both of a green touch but together with the bergamot it becomes a bit Mint-adjacent, it has a similar effect. Clean folded laundry in the opening and mid. The base is a fairly clean slightly sweet moss, masculine but not machismo. Just very very nice, fairly good projection but becomes more of a skin scent after a while, above average longevity I would say. Perfect fragrance for whenever you don't wanna make any strong statement but just hang out and chill.

I was paring down my fragrances the other day, and realized although Legend EDP isn't my favorite of all time, it is certainly the most versatile spray I own. Office safe, date safe, gym safe, day/night, summer/winter. Not dated, though not trendy. Fresh. Clean. Put together.

Cheap chemical mess, just go with clones they're honestly higher quality than this mess.

Good for casual everyday wear.

A fragrance made for everyday use; fresh, floral, and average. 7/10—not bad, but not exciting.

I received this as a gift, and surprisingly, it smells like my Romano Metro Pulse deodorant spray. The deodorant actually smells a bit better.

Very basic and safe nothing offensive nothing mind-blowing. Could be an office or a starter scent when you are not really into perfume.

Violet leaves and peppery bergamot that is ever so sweet (the magnolia?) for a fresh open that slides to some iso e super and possibly methyl dihydrojasmonate for vague woodiness in the heart, accented by light jasmine. The base is fairly mossy with a touch of leather. This comes off as a milder A&F Fierce, but was somewhat boring even for someone like me who has a soft spot for blue freshies. It's getting relegated to the gym fragrance section of the collection. Not a bad fragrance, I like it, but it's just not something I think I'd reach for in a larger collection.

Replying to the comment below : funnily enough, earlier today after taking a shower i applied Axe apollo deodorant and then went around looking for a fragrance that would match the scent of apollo and i sprayed some mont blanc legend and instantly loved the combo its a perfect scent for my workplace, i work with dudes only at an industrial area so and this is a very manly fresh scent

Great scent profile and long lasting for a freshie. 🤩 It's my signature scent for a good reason. I would suggest to spray it on clothes, don’t last very long on skin. Try this one out! 9/10 for me.

Previously i stated that Fierce is the king of the Fierce DNA But I was sorely mistaken: THIS is the king of them all <3 So nice clean fresh masculine (Legend all grown up)

Best cheapie that does not smell cheap in my opinion....it smells like eA&F fierce had a baby with chanel egoiste and it lasts a decent 4 to 6 hours ..gotta get the EDP

I never had this one so I cannot comment about it... but I have Legend ELIXIR for about 6 days now AND NO SIGN OF IT here?!

I am shocked at how much I like this. If you've ever set foot in a shopping mall with an Abercrombie & Fitch store, you know this smell. It's perhaps the most ubiquitous, mainstream scent in the US for the past 10 years, and it smells horrible as a room fragrance. I think A&F stores blast this stuff through the air vents, it's literally sickening, and I hate it. However.... As a personal fragrance to wear on your skin, this is delightful. It's hard to describe, but I will try: it's like a blend of all the popular men's fragrance genres of the past 30 years, but blended to perfection and it works. It's aquatic, woody, sweet, leathery, sporty, dry, citrusy and mature, all at once. Legend EDP is appropriate for any occasion, for a man of any age, any time of year. I typically don't like fragrances this safe, but Legend EDP is so well constructed, I can't help but love it.
