This has been a favorite of mine ever since my teens, one of the few I can still find from time to time. Such a dark, delightful rosy patchouli. The cocoa gives it such a nice, gourmandish depth. I wish the latest batches had better longevity, this was a beast back in the day.

My older cousin wore this in 2007 when it was released and for a couple of years... I remember percieving it as a dark and dirty scent, but with a round a creamy sweetness cocooning it, quite a particular scent profile that still holds originality till this day. I got a smaller bottle in xmas 2009 (I was 11) from my parents, I actually didn't even asked for it but they decided to offer me and I wore it continuously and exclusively till it was gone (only 2 to 3 sprays). My most vivid memory from this scent was sniffing my wrist while waiting in the school canteen line and thinking "wowww how vanillic the dry down is after all that initial sour and dark smell". I longed for that beautiful dark vanilla dry down everytime I wore it. The current edp formulation (2018) doesn't have that dirty vanilla, it doesn't have patchouli listed as a note so that's probably why the dirty kick is gone and also it lacks the creamy cocooning effect of the original edt. It was my first designer perfume and will always hold a dear space in my heart and in my olfactory journey ❤️

Some memories are best left behind. It is a linear masculine perfume on me, huge disappointment. Potent but boring and cheap smelling. Nothing provocative or vulgar or amything - not that I was looking for it- but i do not get anything BIG put of this.

I rediscovered this scent after picking it up on sale and I’m so glad that I did! It was my signature scent as a teenager. I have enjoyed cacao and vanilla notes for as long as I can remember and it smells just as it did in 2007 to me - a little warm and spicy, slightly fruity, woody and ‘effervescent’ in the opening with a lovely sweet, vanilla dry down. I don’t get much floral from this even though there are a couple of floral notes listed, but I prefer it that way. Don’t be fooled by the rose on the bottle - it isn’t a rose heavy scent and would definitely be too much for those who prefer floral fragrances.

Blind bought, hoping it would be a very cocoa, rose scent. Instead, the opening smelt heavily synthetic and was getting too much patchouli, a lot of rose which is good but not enough cocoa at all. It's ok, I wouldn't buy it again. I've tried Amor Amor Eau de Parfum Cacharel for women which is like £20 for 100ml and it almost smells exactly like this to me. It smells a lot better on the skin, settles a lot less synthetic, but still falls short of what I had in mind. Perhaps the 2007 version would smell better, as a lot of people complain the newer 2013 version is too synthetic, but I wouldn't know.

I like this a lot! I went in expecting it to smell like "Red Intense" from Ésika, but they smell absolutely different. It is fruity, sweet and then dries down to a nice, close-to-skin cacao scent. My bf disliked it (said there's a sewer-like quality to it) but to me, it smells rich and gourmand-like. With this, we learned he doesn't like cacao at all. I don't give it a "love" because the dry-down came too quickly, and seemed like it speed-ran its way to the base notes, which was a bit disappointing :(

Hello fragrance fam! The original formulation of Black XS for her was an Edt. It had the same vase bottle style as the stock picture shown above. After 2018 it was reformulated and turned into an Edp. The modern Edp's scent profile is more wood focused, with the Edt having more of a "sparkle" to it. USA: Visit Vintage Decants to sample Black XS in its EDT formulation.. :)

To me this is easy to love (EDT). What's not to like? I recently paired it with Hypnotic Poison EDP & received a complement..."oh you smell good!" I applied each to different areas & I was loving the scent I was getting for hours. They have notes that complement each other. Fruits, florals, & woods. So glad to have her. Thank you Emilie Coppermann, Mark Buxton, & Mr. Paco Rabonne RIP ❤️ I think Pure XS would pair well too...I'll have to try. 😉

Ok so it finally arrived! My ex bff used to wear it when we were at high school and faculty. I awlays wanted it and later I forgot abput it. I ve been on this road down the memory lane for a very long time- repeating the long lost scents trying to get those feelings of excitment back. To be excited about the life- florals. To be cozy and comfy- creaminess. Back to this one- it is for a very brief instant what I rember it to be- but overall it is very linear, I hardly get any florals which is sooooo disappointing, leaning masculine (i dont remember that, it was very feminine intoxicating), Very peppery, Reminds me almost to the bone to the Her Secret Temptation Of Antonio Banderas- but his one has a lot of sugar. It lasts for 3h maybe. It is what it is - teenage audience and early 20s but I think you can pull it off as sth interesting (unpopular opinion) in summer! I think it needs some heat for depth. And also - buy Betina Barty Blueberry lotion amd combine it with this for depth and vanilla to last longer. Spray it in the hair. That is all from me and for me because I wear creamier and deeper and muscier perfumes that are more mature as well, but I want to have this for the sale of memories. As for edt vs edp- edt has SPICENESS for what the fragrance is recognisable for and edp is straught creaminess but in a dull way. I am letting it develop and sit on me and my nose to get used to it on me, which is a main difference when u love a perfume and when u wear it. Often when I buy a prrfume(evn if i had it before) it takes around a month of wearing it for my nose to get used to it to be able to detect it. Thats ehen I stop overspraying.

This has been my all-time favourite since its first release. Definitely my signature scent, but I tend to layer it with other perfumes to customise it further.

This is one of my strangest fragrance experiences. Basically I love a dark sexy scent but they are very hard to find nowadays and I'm not rich enough for niche fragrances phaha. The dark scents on the market like L'interdit Rouge or Hypnotic poison all give me old lady vibes (no offence to the older ladies) and they are all very closed off, on your skin, too cozy, no open space in their atmosphere and to me that open space is everything. My all time favourite dark scent is By night by Christina Aguilera which has been reformulated into bland nothingness and I'm always on the hunt for something like this. I'd heard a lot about Black XS. The notes scared me because of three things..spice, rose and my most hated violet (I hate smelling purple). I love musk, I hate spice. Still for some reason (manic episode cough cough) I decided to blind buy it because I was just too curious. On the first sniff I was relieved to find that I don't hate it but then the rose hit and so did the violet so strongly that it turned everything purple. The spice was giving very retro, 90s vibes and I was repulsed. It reminded me of if L'interdit Rouge and Alien had a baby. I was expecting burgundy and I got purple, I was expecting grunge and sexy and I got none of that. I hated it so much I washed it off my wrist but it wouldnt come off. So I sat there contemplating wether to return it or gift it to a goth friend of mine who loves rose perfumes and as I was having my coffee and smoking my cig I found myself drawn to my wrist but from a distance. Something was pulling me in. I decided to spray it on a card. Upclose..repulsive. Buuut ..in the air it was hypnotic. I found myself wanting to sniff but from a safe distance. Utterly confused I started analysing what this sorcery is. It stopped feeling like a distinct perfume, it turned into a feeling, one which I can't describe (for the record I have no nostalgia connected to this scent). I sprayed some in the air and omg..heaven. In the air it didnt smell like anything in particular but it just made me feel things. So to sum it up upclose...eww. In the air... that exact open space feel that I love. I don't see how this can be viewed as masculine. It's very feminine imo. I dont find it rock n roll, I find it romantic. If you dont have a strong aversion to violet you will like this more than me. I think I'll use this for layering but not on its own. It really is a unique fragrance and I don't regret getting it. As for those cranberries...i smell none. Update: Wore this for the first time. The strongest note is the rose (I mean its literally on the bottle). Longetivity and projection are weak. To me this perfume can be summed up as a dark rose perfume. Thank god I no longer smell the violet or maybe I just got used to it. I find it to be a romantic, dainty dark perfume. Update 2: Cant stop sniffing this. It's unique and addictive. Rose no longer bothers me and I can see why this is so loved. My fave quality about it is that it manages to be so dark yet open and airy. I have never changed my opinion on a fragrance so many times in 2 days lol. I guess this just speaks to how multifaceted and complex this scent is. Wearing this makes me feel confident and bold. I can only imagine what the OG smelt like. I have the reformulated version without the rose.

All I want is to somehow time travel back in the time of teenage high school era- and that isn’t any bad considering the fact how fine fragrances were back then- the time of Bvlgqri Jasmine Noir Versace crystal Givenchy very irr Cavalli serpentine And This magic RIGHT HERE! I am about to order it from ebay so i cannot wait to sniff it a d spay it. I remember it being super potent and strong and sweet and SEDUCTIVE is the word. I believe it was floral rosey. And nostalgic in a great way- just the days of excitement and comfort. My ex best friend used to have it and she was very mean about us having the same perfume. I am so glad she is no longer in my life. As a teenage girl and early 20s one- you really go thru so much with people. I am happy it is over. My whole perfume wardrobe is eaither creamy musky white bottles or rosey peony pinky florals.

I don't know why, but I like this much better than the EdP, which I find uninteresting.

It reminds me of my high school days — it used to be my signature scent back then. Sweet, warm, and spicy, with a mix of berries and cocoa powder. It has a dark, sexy vibe. The patchouli and earthy touch keep it from leaning too edible and make the scent feel distinctive and unique. Beautiful and one of a kind, with strong projection and longevity.

Iconic. Sexy and dark. Refreshing. Cranberries mix in their fruity-sour way with rose and violets. The hint of cocoa adds depth with a bit earthiness of patchouli. But it feels even more complex. It wears very well and fits any weather. Especially great for an evening but fits a day too, especially for a student.

I'm so sad Makeupalley is gone - I had reviewed this over there :( This was one of the two first real perfumes I ever bought for myself. It smelt really sexy, and almost like a gingerbread-chocolate-sweet fruity concoction. It also smelt a little dirty from the patchouli - almost a little earthy. It apparently left an amazing trail too, as all of the guys absolutely loved this one. I also bought Lanvin Eclat d'Arpege at the same time, and they didn't care much for that one, but they said this perfume was the sexiest perfume they'd ever smelt! :) I didn't wear it much though, so I sold it, but it would be really nice to have saved the bottle as I'm such a perfume addict today, and this one was the one that started it :)

My all time favorite , i was at an airport the first time i smelled it, love at first sniff, crown jewel ever since , is dark , spicy, deep and beautiful

I just received this, a blind buy. I'm somewhat of a perfume enthusiast, usually drawn to gourmand fragrances that smell like baked goods. But nothing ever quite felt like me. I was always searching... until now. I feel like this is my first "grown up" fragrance, and... The search is over! This is the most perfect fragrance I've ever experienced. It's not for the faint of heart. While it's not so daring that it alienates the masses, it definitely isn’t for someone who’s used to light, girly scents. This scent is rock 'n' roll. It's grunge. It's witchy. It’s absolutely perfect for a bad girl with a good heart. It’s Harley Quinn in a bottle. If you know, you know.

Remember wearing it when I was about 23-24 yo. I liked the mysterious and dark..gothic side of the scent at that time. Maybe I could wear this again now I am nearly 38, and it would be on special occasions again and during the evening.

I fell in love with this fragrance back in 2010. I bought it at the airport, before leaving London, and I cherished ever since. I was my signature scent! It's a rock n roll scent, seductive, warm, sweet but spicy, intoxicating, with red fruits, rose, vanilla, some fresh pepper and a solid base of patchouli, amber, tonka bean, aromatic woods. It was the smoky eyes+little black dress+leather jacket of perfumes, and I would always wear it during concerts. It got really strong as the years passed (I tried to save it for special occasions!) I wanted to buy a fresh bottle... but it was nowhere to be found... until a few years ago! Despite the joy of being able to wear it again, I gotta admit that the new formula isn't exactly as it used to be. Now it's too woody and leathery on the dry down, and it's stronger, while the old formula would stay warm and sweet, and would leave an impeccable lingering fragrance on jackets (for days!). My preference now shifted towards either cozy/spicy vanilla perfumes or clean airy fragrances (lol), but for a night out I still reach out to Black XS sometimes; I never go overboard and I layer it with Bare Vanilla body spray (not the fragrance) by Victoria's Secret for a cozier vibe, or with a tiny bit of Strawberry Poundcake by Bath and Body Works if I want some more sweetness/red fruits. If they fixed the formula, I would *run* to buy it again! Please Paco Rabanne, please don't forget about it! ❤️

My Thoughts: To my nose, it’s a gourmand fragrance and it's best suited for cold weather or rainy days. It’s also a perfect date-night scent if you and your partner enjoy sweet, seductive perfumes.Longevity is around 6–7 hours on skin, but I get more on clothes. I get better performance because my bottle is well-aged and has macerated beautifully. The fragrance leaves a sweet, alluring scent trail. If you love perfumes like Diesel Loverdose Red Kiss, this deserves a spot in your collection ❤️ Note Breakdown: The opening is heavy on cranberry with a touch of pink pepper.I can’t detect tamarind separately, though it may add subtle bitterness to balance the sweetness.Gradually, cacao and vanilla take center stage alongside the powdery violet. The rose is detectable but not that prominent. The drydown is mainly earthy patchouli with cozy, powdery cacao and vanilla.Together all the notes blend so smoothly that the fragrance feels almost edible and undeniably seductive. Overall,If you love chocolate-vanilla fragrances with a spicy kick, you’ll definitely enjoy this. But if gourmands aren’t your style, it’s actually not for you.Black XS for Her smells youthful, seductive, and cozy. It's a true cold-weather gem and perfect for parties, date night & Netflix and chill moments!

I used to like this perfume to go out at night. However, I don’t like it anymore. It is too strong and masculine for me.

Анонім★★★★★

I used to wear this perfume in high school, much to my own surprise, because now I find it definitely too heavy. You can smell cranberry in it, but the scent is smoky and a bit suffocating (maybe because of the cocoa). The perfume has a decent sillage and good longevity both on skin and clothes.

Анонім★★★★★

You better not buy it blindly! The tamarind and cocoa mix... It's very unique. Personally, I find it disgusting to death. It smells a bit like something from the 2000s... I hate having bought it.

Анонім★★★★★

Smells like straight up licorise to me.Very long lasting and intense projection. Very sweet.

Анонім★★★★★

I’ve only ever tried this formulation but it’s a beauty. Fruity, sweet, dark and deep. Pretty average performance but worth the overspray. I would rebuy this so that I always have it.
