Cigar

I ordered a bottle of this today, simply to complete a small part of my heart that still belongs to the fragrances I once loved. Back in 2001, when I was a college student, this and a few others, like the old Charlie and Rasasi perfumes sold at the neighborhood grocery shop,were the only scents we could afford with our pocket money. Yet they carried an entire world within them. What I remembered most was that soft, sweet whisper of tobacco lingering in the air. Smelling this new bottle today feels different after years of experiencing niche fragrances and refined tobacco compositions, but nostalgia has its own kind of beauty that no luxury perfume can replace. Now I notice tobacco blended with patchouli and aromatic florals, creating a green-leaf tobacco effect that feels strangely niche and undeniably sensual. Yes, it smells inexpensive, even a little synthetic in places, but somehow that imperfection is part of its charm. It carries the memory of simpler days and the quiet happiness of buying a perfume with saved pocket money.

Nose Note #1068 I'm very happy for people that think this smells nice. To me it smells almost disgusting. The sillage is actually pleasant, but upclose - what an artificial stench... This does not smell like any of the upper class fragrances from the "reminds me of" section. Maybe 10% at best of London, Mystery Tobacco, Pure Havane, Shock for Men. From a distance and if you turn of your brain then yes, it smells maybe 20% similar to all of them, but so so inferior to them. You get what you pay for, very little value. That's my honest opinion. I think it's totally worth it to save up three times the cost of this and buy something like Mancera, a two times and buy any UAE brand. Or maybe even pay the same money for UAE... Men only. OK performance. Not a nice scent, smells cheap 6/10

K, blind bought it and this is not at all what I expected. Instead of festive winter fruity, vanillic ( don't know why I expected heavy vanilla/amber, guess its because of the cigar association) with heavy, dark patchouli, this is actually kinda soapy fresh. Ever smelled open by roger and galet ? It has this type of soapy tobacco smell without the bunch of herbal aromatics, if that makes sense. I expected smoker's tobacco vanille but I got a tobacco fougere. Still nice.

if your boss invited to you a dinner or going to a very formal meeting and somehow dont have money to afford more expensive and less synthetic bold fragrances this is the pick. very formal and screams masculine while also almost having a sort of musky-soap feeling which makes you feel great. safe blind buy if you have a date coming up or a formal meeting.

I find myself trying to catch the elusive tobacco accord. Sometimes it smells like a cigar shop, others more like a ripe pear wearing some sweet lipstick and a musky barber aftershave. After a month notice this stuff is deceptively strong, too much and you will smell like a pile of oakmoss. Not a bad thing, not a cigar though. This is really musty fougère. Imagine what an old well dressed french guy smells of... Traces of lavender, oaky, port wine, dried citrus peels, a bit skunky, a bit inky, a bit of playdoh saffron, and forest floor... Really great actually. It isn't smoky. Dries down to a sweet musk. Yes it´s synthetic, especially from up close. So is every fragrance since the beginning of last century. It´s the affordability that some people can´t accept. This doesn't scream youth. Probably not the best for summer days either. Biggest criticism would be it doesn´t last long enough. Otherwise les chapeaux off to Remy Latour.

I have had this bottle for awhile and have not worn it much as it is a little too deep for me most of the time, It has a real leather smell to me like a sweet calming leather scent. I do smell a little spice and plum now that I have read up on it. seems like heavier oily scent and it does last a while, project alot in the first 30 minutes but it does go down to about arms length after. i'd say it is a great value and is best for a night at the bar or a nice dining experience.

Fantastic scent ❤️ it's not a clone of another fragrance 👍 and has been around since 1996👌 used to be a cheap one but now it's around 50$ you don't find it easily like before! But I love it ❤️ great tobacco 🚬 scent 👌😀

A damn good fragrance.. Better than most of the present day blue and sweet fragrances.. Starts off with a woody-orangy smell with a heavy dose of tobacco.. Gradually the orange smells fades away while the woody-tobacco smell lingers on.. Lasts for about 5 hours on my skin with moderate projection.. Ideal for those cool rainy days...

I bought this for my man and after we giggled for a loonnng time at the hilarious bad taste packaging we settled down seriously to see what this was all about. Sometimes this is a bit too old timey big and cloying for me to work as an everyday fragrance but to be worn when you want something bold and unapologetically manly. I can see why people who like this would also like the less rugged and more refined Encre Noire. I have always found Aramis a little too much but my man loves it so it is similar to Aramis with that smokey tobacco/leather dryness. I also think there is enough fruit and sweetness here to compare it to 1 Million also.

Yes yes the good ole days. I miss much of what they used to offer as well. But we still have Cigar ! Cigar is a quiet scent that you will catch wiffs of hours after applying. Reminds me of the Le male Edt or Prada Luna Rosa performance. Very quiet. You can go huntin wabbit. So it’s Very easy to loose track of its performance. It’s cheap ! I paid $13 for mine so get it. For that price I’m kind of impressed. Wear this to where you’re not allowed to wear Cologne. You won’t offend anyone

Better than Aramis Havana, this one goes further. Had a deodorant called Tusk which this reminds me of, for some reason, and takes me back to the mid 2000s when there was every type of scent you could imagine on the shelves. Back to the time I always smelt like Cigar, or similar. Even deodorants had a monstrous variety and smelt like what they were presented as. But ok ok, everything I write recently basically becomes a rehash of all my grievances. Let's talk about Cigar-- Just buy it. Waste no time looking at the picture. You'd better PM me. Re: 2024 Bottle of Cigar by Rémy Latour I'm perplexed by the bulk of the longevity ratings being moderate or long-lasting. For me, Cigar is extremely ephemeral, weak almost by aftershave standards, even. (When I experience olfactory fatigue, there tends to be a point at which the fragrance reemerges; that isn't happening here.) Scent is OK to a like, although I think it is a bit flabby, meaning, lacking much in the way of balancing top brightness. Is it going to come alive in cold conditions? There's always using it as part of an aftershave blend, I guess. _____ 27-28 July 2024 Revisiting, Cigar was more detectable, out to around five hours, placing the nose right onto the spray point.

I absolutely love this perfume, except it seems to fade away slightly quick. I wish it could be more intense. I don't smoke but I really love the cigar tabaco smell. I put it on with a bit of Malizia Uomo Vetyver from Mirato and gave some amazing results. It also goes really well with versace eau fraiche. Cigar by Remi Latour is such a distinctive fragrance, I've never had anyone asking what I was wearing till now. I will be trying their other fragrances.

I discovered this gem on Reddit and have been pleased that the fragrance rises above its kitschy bottle and inoperable atomizer. Bit of a green, ashy opening; leans aromatic and softly smoky. As a matter of fact – softly, or shyly is how it wears. The marigold and geranium are watercolors of the flowerbeds of the apartments where I grew up. It’s a dry, semi-sweet – or, again, softly sweet – unlit tobacco. The fruits are neither cloying nor acidic; they’re loving spoonfuls of sugar-free fruit salad that’s mostly pears. The scent develops nicely into this dusty-smooth sandalwood and gentle-manly musk. It’s present, not overpowering. Attention-getting, not grabbing.

Unspeakably awful synthetic bomb, which bears no relation to any tobacco I have ever sampled. Like a superpowered fly spray, it lingers in the air (and on the skin) as a sort of curse.

I like Tobacco-leathery-smoky scents, and read many reviews. ‘Cigar’ seemed to match what I wanted, based on the reviews. It’s cheap so why not I thought! The bottle is tacky but fun, and comes in a tin box. It’s all lovely presented. The fragrance itself is sweet tobacco…it definitely has that loose leaf tobacco smell, with a touch of smokiness - it’s exactly like you’d imagine a cigar room would smell in the ol’ days. It is masculine. And it’s unique, to my noise and very much matches expectations. The only disappointment is its radiance - it stays very close to the body, there’s no waft. I’ve had no compliments, no recognition that’s it wearing it (despite spritzing liberally - 6/7 sprays), no ‘are you smoking again’ quips. That said though, I like it and it does what is says (literally) on the tin. For the price ain’t you like tobacco, you can’t go wrong.

I'm obviously late to this party. I wish I had found out about this sooner. Definitely a beautiful old world, smokey piped tobacco. Reminds me of Captain Black Cavendish piped tobacco. The compositions in this fragrance are beautiful. After the initial blast of tobacco, there's a slight cedar note that burns the nose, almost medicinal. I do pickup patchouli, heavy marigold and bergamot which hangs in there for the remainder. This is a gentleman scent, can be more for a formal setting or nite out with my wife at a good restaurant on a cool spring to fall nite. I like it very much. Between a love and like. I have to wear it more to rate the longevity accuracy, but I'm getting a good 4 hours this far. 8.5 out of 10. 👍

All I can say is never judge a book by its cover, tacky tin box and tacky bottle…. But wow it smells good! I bought some expensive Mr Mullans tobacco and oak incense cones a while back and they smelt absolutely unreal… this fragrance smells exactly the same, this is a true hidden gem! Lasts well and projects well and smells 10/10 and all for 20 quid! Smells like it should be 100

Excellent Fragrance ! Elegant, Classy and Airy with main Theme: Tobacco. The king of the inexpensive Cherry and Tobacco perfumes that costs more than this price ! I love Burberry London but Cigar launched in 1996 , Ten years before it. It has High Quality Composition and Lovely Masterful Well-Blended. It opens up with a bit sweet fresh spicy and earthy notes in the background then dry down is semi sweet cherry pipe Tobacco and woody. It smells so good and very pleasant , This is suitable for the Cold Weather. I'm so happy that I have it in my collection and I really enjoy it. Longevity is good. Highly Recommended. Thumbs Up. Cigar is one of the founding fathers of modern tobacco scents. Tobacco mixed with sandalwood, bay leaf, cedar and pineapple gives it a pirate vibe. Think Jimmy Buffett or Jack Sparrow. A very pleasant mixture of bay rum and cigar humidor. What intrigues me is that I can actually smell the humidity of the tobacco and cedar in the notes. That's a hard olfactory trick to pull off. It's cheap and very safe to blind buy. I don't detect any difference between vintage and modern formulations. If Creed bottled this scent it would cost $500. Do yourself a favor and buy two.

I was very excited about getting my nose on this. I'm extremely disappointed with it because I had such a high hopes. The tobacco note smells like a cigar shop, which is great, and I enjoy that part. But with every spray there is a sharp, loud screechy note I can't identify that absolutely ruins the whole thing for me. I've sprayed a few times, and am letting it macerate a bit to see if it changes and grows on me, but for now I'm disappointed by how much I dislike this one.
