Genuinely the best fragrance I've ever worn, they need to bring it back identical to this original
Dior homme (2005) with a hint of coffee. I was hoping for a “brighter” and more gourmand experience, but it really does just smell like Polge imitated his past creation and gave it to Valentino. Meh. Almost same performance as Dior Homme, small projection, lasts maybe 5-6 hours. Like Dior Homme, it smells heavy, despite not projecting much, and probably wouldn’t survive high heat. Cooler weather, night time scent.
It’s rich, nutty, and smells like an expensive Italian dessert you’d eat while wearing a tailored suit. It’s sweet, yes, but it’s a controlled sweetness like a gentleman who knows exactly when to be charming and when to be professional
As a huge fan of gourmand scents—think freshly baked bread and rich chocolate—I really wanted to love this, especially given the famous perfumer behind it. However, there's a slight 'greasiness' that bothers me. I eventually realized the culprit is the coffee note, which just isn't for me. While it’s a well-crafted fragrance, it’s simply a matter of personal taste. I like it, not love.
I still have some of the original 2014 batch and its a beautiful, multi faceted scent. There's a fresh introduction, nutty chocolate & coffee in the middle and a warm leather base note. It reminds me of autumn afternoons in Sardinia. Its tragic that they decided to reformulate such a lovely scent.
I'm now on a mission to find a replacement for the original version of this I had back in the day. I tried a modern bottle of this and it was nothing like the old version on me. Still a pleasant enough scent, but the original was warm, coffee, whiskey, chocolate, slightly smoky and lasted ages. I ended up passing on the bottle I got recently because it did not smell the same and just disappeared almost instantly on me (to be fair, I have trouble finding anything that lasts on my skin).
I’ve loved Valentino Uomo since my teenage years. Looking back, I realize I’ve always had a good nose for fragrances even back then, when I knew nothing about perfumery, let alone the expensive niche creations I appreciate today. I honestly don’t know why it took me 12 years to finally buy this fragrance, even though I had always loved it. Perhaps it was meant to happen this way. I’ve now managed to find the original 2014 formulation the version many consider superior and more refined and owning it feels truly special. Needless to say, I couldn’t be happier. This fragrance is undeniably elegant, seductive, and effortlessly sexy. It carries a gentle sweetness balanced by a subtle citrus freshness, making it a perfect choice for anyone who appreciates a refined and polished scent. The opening greets you with a touch of bergamot, bright and slightly sparkling. After about 15 to 20 minutes, it transitions beautifully into a smooth and comforting blend of hazelnut, cedar and chocolate a combination that feels rich, sophisticated, and quietly addictive. To me, this is not just a designer release it’s a timeless composition that proves true elegance never goes out of style.
This fragrance smells pretty good. I like the hazelnut/chocolate notes, and the pinch of freshness it has makes it that much better. However, this does NOT last or project at all. You'd need to overspray this in order to have anyone notice that you have anything on. Even with that being said, this is still an amazing, subtle fragrance to have on as it's not overpowering and is unisex, so anyone can wear this. Overall, I do really like the scent, the bottle, and the price. So to me, it's an 8.1/10.
got a 50ml 2014 and 100ml 2016 puig its a 1:1 compared to the 2021 spiked version, please dont fall for the hype... legit some people are weird

Pre 2021 Uomo (black cap) is discontinued. New Uomo is having Gold Cap. But fragrance is totally different. But still, many websites use old Uomo photo with black cap, but they deliver only new Uomo with golden cap. Don't buy unless you see black cap in person.
R.I.P. VALENTINO
For me, it's the bergamot-myrtle-hazelnut that wears so well. After an initial sweet heady hit, it dries down to a soft beige green, almost powdery sophistication and the leather is sun-warmed and subtle. I get several hours out of it and arms length projection. Good enough for all year round wear, office or leisure. Having recently been in to sample the current formulation, whilst it is good, I mourn that they have chosen to go down the mass -appealing msac iris route, rather than stick to delivering something that was truly unique, not just at the time, but also right now. This is definitely in my all-time hall of fame and when current supply runs out, well. that's a future me problem.
The goat of the line. The myrtle in this is amazing
Yeah yeah yeah. Reformulated. Fancy talk for the good one being discontinued. This was chocolate and coffee AND hazelnuts, and no one was doing it this way. It was so good.
Hi guys, I have been reviewing scents on my YouTube channel and this one was reviewed this week. Here is my breakdown: What is it Valentino Uomom When was it launched? 2014 What vibe / image do I get? It invokes the image of a man who appreciates the "sweet life" (La Dolce Vita). He is well-dressed—perhaps in a slim-fit navy suit or a high-end knit polo—and possesses a warm, charming personality. What is the longevity 12+ hours What is the Projection Top: Opens as an herbal citrus with a nutty base. (60 minutes) - Arms Length Mids: Powder, chocolate and coffee appear on top of a leather base. A little sweetness also emerges, but just a little. ( 8 hours) 3 foot to 1 foot Base: Settles into a slightly sweet nutty, woody and earthy scent. ( 8+ hours ) skin scent What are the notes that I get? hazelnut, chocolate, leather, coffee, cedar, bergamot, myrtle, iris, vanilla and vetiver I do get all of the notes Compliments? Yes, this one is a compliment getter Places / events you can wear it Romantic evenings / date nights, Client Dinners, social events Where NOT to wear this one: The high heat, high intensity sports and outdoor casual events like BBQs. What attire upscale casual to formal. Who is the audience - age group Masculine, leans mature Will I add a bottle of this to my collection? Maybe Why you should try it. If you are a mature man that is looking for a great date night scent of a scent for client interactions, you should give this one a try.
I don't think they sell this version anymore, I remember going to the counter in 2014 and testing every Chanel, Dior and Valentino available, and this was the best one I still have it, and it's still great. It says bergamot, but it seems more orangey, more citrusy then just bergamot. And performance is outstanding, but that seems to be the case with all old fragrances
Yea… i mean it’s pleasant smells a bit good but the really last notes appear in the drydown smells leathery… im ain’t talking abt my relationship with leather… im still shocked how people are normalizing leather
Almost 10 years ago, my ex and I went into a store that sell make up and apparently they had some scents around too. A couple were for men and this was one of them Out of sheer curiosity, she smelled this and quickly erupted ''oooorgh!'' and bought it for me whether i liked it or not. And i turned out to love it. Quite distinct in its way of being warm and cozy. Has a nutty creaminess that's highly addictive. Will probably get a bottle soon for the sake of nostalgia.
After all this time… After all the fragrances I’ve owned or tried… This remains the best of all time. I thougt they already discontinued this version. Love it on me, love it on women. Its a bold chocolate irish, confident creamy hazelnut, my best experienced on life scent Formal or casual, day or night. Perfect. 10/10
THE BEST !! the best and the best 10/10 everyday fragrance. Every woman melted to this gem. wooww.. old batch and discontinued. You are lucky if you can find it. It's like you walking on pastry shop, like a cake and cookie party. Do you ever see woman ignoreing chocolate and cookie or some delicieus chooco cake ? that's the way they smells at you. You are magnetic to every woman you pass by. This scent smelling amazingggg
Sophisticated and gentle. It is such a myriad of notes to me, yet all classy and refined. For a gentleman. It attracts me to come closer. One of the masculine best.
I have about 12-15ml left in my 2014 'Made in Spain' bottle. I love this so much but am so scared to run out of it so I barely wear it. This fragrance is Nutella caviar. It's an absolute delicacy for the nose. I haven't tried any of the newer formulations and I don't want to. I want this bottle to last forever and the only way I can do that is to not wear it. It's a form of torture.
The Best thing ever created by Human is Valentino uomo 2014. Best!! Best!! Best!! I put to the 8th wonder of the world. all the composition notes are perfect ! when I wear this, I feel like close to heaven, so this is the angel's smells alike ??? everything is perfect in there, the tone, the projection, the longevity. I'm got so many compliments. If you ever worn this fragrance? then you are one of the most seductive men on earth ! 10 / 10
Not liking this. Feels like floral-chocolate or something....leaves me with an "Uncanny Valley" feeling...I don't like it. Will let it sit for a few months...but as of right now, it's a regretful blind buy.
opening is crazy good. drydown is generic patchouli-ish coffee(?) with generic cedar. loses cacao and turns a bit heavy/suffocating as it dries down. 2021 version is supposedly fresher and i assume its devoid of this facet, ill try that one too asap.
Baby powder and chocolate, and not in a wholly unpleasant way. A very cosy fragrance, but I can't help but wish it had a bit more depth to it. So-so lasting power, dries down to a vaguely pharmaceutical-smelling hazelnut. Certainly not a totally masculine perfume, but constrained by the overly binary nature of commercial perfume I suppose.
Smells warm and gourmand. Feels smooth and inviting — like slipping into a cozy leather jacket at a laid-back evening.
i like it more than the 2021 intense , i'd say it's smoother? idk 8.3/10
I smell delicious and ready to be eaten.
