Bare

currently going through a sampler 7ml size and im so in love with it! its just such a perfect scent; sweet and feminine, a little creamy but nowhere near enough to make me nauseous as many perfumes do. dries down really nice on my skin and i love sniffing it throughout the day (lol) its not complex by any means but perfect for a scent that's versatile and put-together

I sampled this recently and ended up buying a travel size bottle. It smells SO good on me. Hard to describe, but on me it almost smells like a creamy peach with some soft sandlewood and vanilla. It is blended really well. I find myself sniffing my wrists constantly when I wear this. I happen to be a big VS perfume fan, even though I know they are super popular and worn by a lot of people. I've been rockin many of their fragrances since I was a teen, and I am almost 40 now. This is definitely a top fave for all the fragrances they've released over the years. Unfortunately, like others said, longevity is not that great. Usually I get 3 or 4 hours at most. However, it is pretty affordable, so I don't mind applying more as needed throughout the day! I think this can be worn in any season too! Hope VS never discontinues this one.

Skin chemistry is such an interesting thing because this smells truly awful on me! I find it to be too powdery and woody for my taste, and personally think it smells like a bottle of Tylenol and dusting powder. I got a travel size of this when I was still new to learning what I like and dislike is fragrances, and I am now quite certain I hate powdery violet and overly woody scents without any sweetness to it, which is exactly what this is. Bare Sueded Vanilla however is phenomenal on me. Victoria's Secret perfumes have always been a favorite of mine for their price point but this one is sadly not for me at all.

Bare is living proof that skin chemistry is real. I live in a hot, tropical climate, have a warm skin temperature, and sweat easily. Usually, Victoria’s Secret fragrances turn very off-putting on my skin, but Bare completely broke that streak. It even convinced my non-fraghead friends that skin chemistry isn't just a myth. On testing stripes, they prefer other fragrances in store, but once I tried it on my skin — all agreed that this is the one! It’s a beautifully crafted "your-skin-but-better" scent. It opens with an almost lactonic, milky warmth — yet it never feels juvenile, sticky, or weird. As it dries down, it settles into an incredibly sophisticated, warm, and elegant woody-vanilla aura (and to be clear, it’s not "vanilla-ey" like those redundant vanilla perfumes out there). I get zero fruitiness at all from first spray to base. Instead, it feels as if I have a warm cashmere wrapping over my upper body, floating up to my nose from time to time when I least expect it. It’s not perfumey, but it’s definitely not basic either. It’s the kind of fragrance you wear both for yourself and for the people around you. VS perfumes are quite expensive where I live, but I’ve wanted this for so long and I have zero regrets. I genuinely cannot stop smelling myself.

a friend's signature scent. smelling it always makes me feel like i just walked past the door right after she left for work. i haven't smelled it in a minute, but definitely clean, sweet, musky, not quite floral. i see the comparison to perfumes like glossier you, but i think bare does it better. some of the other bare scents are nice, but it's hard to live up to this one.

Oh this is nice and pleasant! It’s hard to describe though. It’s soft, with some smooth, light floral-scented powder that’s a touch sweet and feminine, and as it dries I get reminiscent hints of pop jelly! wrm & czy - probably just some of the same aroma chemicals in both VS scents. On instinct it does make me think of a slightly mature lady who just got out of the shower and gotten ready with powder products. It’s elegant. As it dries I get more sweet zingy mandarin and less powdery violet, starts to smell a lot younger. I have to say the sweet zingy mandarin is surprisingly addictive especially as I don’t usually like citrus. Oh no it’s actually starting to make me feel just a bit sick now sitting on my skin somehow, but that’s just me. I know it’s marketed as a your skin but better type scent but I wouldn’t say it’s a clean skin smell like Glossier You/Clean Reserve Skin etc.

It's nice but very basic. I was expecting something woody, powdery. But it smells like majority VS perfumes - fruity and floral. I was about to blindly buy a full bottle, but I'm glad I didn't do that.

It's all sandalwood in the dry down to me. Which is a nice sandalwood I will add. Was wishing for more mandarin. Maybe I need to revisit and test in store again.

Bare is in my top two of all time. While I’ve seen soooo many perfumes with the same exact notes I’ve still never found anything quite like it. Light sandalwood, juicy mandarin, and powdery violet, it smells exactly like what I imagine hot woman perfume would smell like. Perfect for any occasion or season, the love of my life. It leans slightly metallic on my skin after multiple hours without reapplication but I’m so in love I find myself reapplying whenever possible. This is also a crowd favorite! I receive compliments every time I wear it! I’ve bought eight full size bottles of Bare in the last three years.

A mandarin orange bomb with the violet and sandalwood (that I bought it for) barely detectable. I expected it to be subdued and more for supporting the main notes but no, it is 90% of what hits you first thing in the composition. Sweet, tangy, fruity.

I got the travel size of the perfume. Just a creamy sweet scent. Nothing bad, nothing good. I don’t like it. I don’t get the sandalwood here at all🧐 the body mist version smells much better.

I am stunned by how good this is. It’s hard to place the notes, but the mandarin and violet give it a bright and shampoo-y quality with a lovely warmth from the sandalwood. The sandalwood in this is very subtle and not at all overpowering or pickle-y so this is definitely safe for Santal 33 haters (like myself). I absolutely get the association with Mojave Ghost, so much so that there is definitely no need to have both in your collection. I have seen many describe this as a second skin scent akin to glossier you or JHAG, but I would definitely disagree - I’m really not getting any musk at all. This really is gorgeous, I’m in love! If you told me this was a niche or designer fragrance I would 100% believe it.

I have an unhealthy obsession with Harry's Fig body wash (if you know, YOU KNOW), and I think Bare complements that scent soooooo well. Both have citrus (Bare has mandarin, Fig has blood orange) and both have woods in their base (Bare has sandalwood, Fig has cedar). Fig has spicy cardamom while Bare has a sweet violet note. I'm impressed with every offering the in VS Bare perfume line (I own them all!), but OG Bare stands out. The dry down is intoxicating. It's such an intimate snuggly skin scent. The mandarin and violet are beautifully paired. I can't stop smelling myself when I wear it! Very sexy and addictive. This is absolutely gorgeous. I've recently acquired Finery's dupe of Phlur's Missing Person (called Without a Trace), and I am planning on pairing them in the future. Both have notes of citrus and woods, but Without a Trace is more powdery.

I knew I’d love this when someone on here said it smelled like SEX. I could not agree more. I just want to wear this bare naked! Bare has such simple notes yet it still has depth. Definitely heavy sandalwood, which I love. I’ve always loved scents with violet, what a beautiful smelling flower. The orange gives this a dash of zest. The 3 paired together, WOW. This could easily be one of my favs. Not too heavy, not too light, just right. VS house really nailed this one. It’s definitely Their best and promotes the sex appeal of the brand.

When I smelt this in store I really loved it. It smelt as if Victoria’s Secret were to release a woman’s shampoo that’s fresh and expensive smelling. I bought it and took it home with me since they had a deal going on. However, when I wore it the second time there was a sharp scent of coins that I couldn’t get away from. I’m assuming it’s the sandalwood, just way too musky for me when it dries down. The initial spray is fantastic. I had to return it because the smell bothered me too much. The projection and longevity is decent to weak on this also. I’m sure it could be someone’s signature scent just not mine.

Sweeter than expected, but not overly, so still bearable (I don´t like sweet scents). Very sandalwood heavy, which was expected looking at the notes, but I thought it would be in a more feminine way. For the first 2-3 hours it changes every 5 minutes or so to being slightly feminine and then slightly masculine, so I find this very unisex, but its still quite beautiful. It´s very soft and cozy, the dry down is quite addictive to be honest, and would be perfect for fall and winter, by itself when the mood is right. I could imagine this being a great layering perfume, as a warm woody base, and then make it slightly more feminine for my taste with something else, so I´m looking forward to try that. Smells niche. I agree with reviews below, it does slightly resemble hair conditioner or hair oil, but in a luxurious way.

A creamy and fruity scent, it reminds me a bit of hair conditioner. It’s soft but the projection is definitely strong. It feels a bit too fruity and sweet for me.

the sandal wood is the best part of this. its not a home depot smell. its put together kinda like a older sister who drives a lexus & has tortoise shell print sun glasses. sadly doesn't last long for me :(

From a first try I had for a second an impression that it is something interesting: deep and soft. However after 30 min it doesn't play with well my skin chemistry and turned into an oooold moldy dusty furniture from museums. Extremely over-powdered and heavy to the point of a headache. If you dont have it handy to test - go to the hundreds old houses were grannies used to live - same vibe.

This was a perfume I smelled initially and didn’t think much of. But once I was gifted it and used it - it’s an everyday fragrance for me. It’s also WONDERFUL to layer with another fragrance. If I’m having a day in I’ll wear it alone because it’s fresh but still warm. If I go out I do like to layer it with something else to enhance my scent trail that day. It’s a great scent for all year round and even though it’s light and feminine it still makes me feel sexy

It's ok. I did wear this for awhile but it's a little mature for me. Not in a bad way, I just like a little more depth and a little more sweetness. But this is sophisticated I would say, and polished. Good for an office job.

I love the way this smells on first spray, but it does not go well with my skin chemistry. On me, it smells violently of overpowering, screechy rose. It's a no for me.

I really wanted to like this but this is not good at all. It smells like old flowers, old makeup, granny vibes. Talc powder gone bad uuffff. There is nothing sexy about this fragrance. Where is the vanilla? Absolutely no sweetness what so ever. It very synthetic. Dry down is very similar to Gold Couture, yuck!

Initially a very bright, slightly citrusy fragrance. The dry down is perhaps a little more woody than I would typically prefer, but it's good. Very simple fragrance. Safe grab for work/school since the projection isn't crazy! It sits pretty close to your skin.

A creamy sandalwood, with violet and a hint of citrus up top... Bare is a little more than a skin scent on me, used it a few times now, to test what people say about it, and weirdly guys have told me that this scent is quite provocative, and that too over 7 hours since I put it on, (though I do 6 to 8 sprays of this scent). Friends tell me I smell nice (Females), guy friends tell me I smell super nice, and have even asked me to spray their jackets with a few sprays of Bare. I've even been stopped a few times since using this scent by straight couples and the girl will ask me about the scent because their partner found it very interesting, and I'd pull out my mini rollerball I carry around whenever I use this scent and offer the girl to apply it and tell them where to get it from and they would become so excited and thank me for being so nice about it. Honestly speaking I find this scent tends to smell very calming and caring to my nose, almost like being in the embrace of a warm kind sincere person (lol not trying to self project here), just describing what I picture when I get a whiff of this scent. Lasts over 10 hours on me with moderate projection especially when I sweat. 9/10 If this is a "your skin but better" kind of scent then count me in, Victoria Secret scents tend to play extremely well off my skin (weird, as I'm a Male), so yeah guess I'm just a lucky guy.

She’s very cute. Longevity is good. It gives feminine floral skin scent.

Blended well, intoxicating overall. It’s a simple Sandalwood the other notes don’t stand out too much. It is more of an intimate scent because the projection is moderate and lasting power is moderate. Stronger than a body spray but not a power house perfume. But it is overall lovely a very no brainer simple perfume, easy to wear inoffensive. I usually wear it to bed with a similar scented body cream. If you want it alittle stronger layer it with a vanilla or woody perfume. This is good for someone who can’t handle super strong perfumes. 💞💞💞

I think this is a really nice beginner friendly skin scent! It’s gently fresh yet warm because of the sandalwood. It truly does feel and smell like my skin is releasing the scent. Definitely great for a daily perfume if you need to wear something that won’t agitate others but will still be noticeably pleasant!
