If you imagine going to a fancy Scandinavian restaurant and they serve you an apple/sage sorbet that is what Zoologist Cow would taste like.

I'm a sucker for a photorealistic apple scent. I was so impressed with the way the crisp apple notes were already wafting off the atomizer. The lactonic notes prevented the apple from becoming too sharp or sour: another bonus! For the first few minutes, I was intrigued after spraying it on my skin. However, as others have pointed out, there is a minty undertone that overpowers all the other mild notes in this perfume. Soon, it smells like a mint-scented cleaner or body product of some kind. It stays so faint, your nose has to be Dyson-ing the perfume molecules directly off your skin, to get any whiff of it at all.

green, fresh, a little creamy. I smell a green apple, sage, and a little bit of grass, enveloped in milkiness. Pretty basic, will work for someone who likes generic fresh/green scents from designer perfume lines but wants something with a little more twist to it

If I close my eyes I feel like I’m in a meadow, fresh cut alfalfa, crisp notes of the apples, what a cow would smell in pasture. It doesn’t last very long though.

The first Zoologist fragrance that actively disappointed me since I really had my hopes up for this one. It's not evoking anything remotely bucolic or pastoral - this was created in a lab and does nothing to hide that fact. For the first hour everything is dominated by this synthetic sour apple candy type note that I just cannot bring myself to like and after it starts to fade a bit more, it transforms into this watery mild herbal shower gel kind of scent that is pleasant but truely nothing special. If you want a lactonic or apple fragrance, there are about a million cheaper and more evocative options for you to choose from. I kind of see the comparisons to ELDOs the ghost in the shell since they had a very similar take on the lactonic genre, neither of which I particularly enjoyed. But if you like one you might like the other I suppose.

something about this does actually remind me of ghost in the shell, which is unexpected. There's kind of a cold neutrality to the milk note that makes them both unique. The apple really forms a bridge that connects the milk to the green notes in a way that works very harmoniously. As it wears on the apple stands out especially well on my skin, which I love. The milk is a little too strong in the opening, I was worried it wouldn't wear well. Probably won't get a full size but will definitely enjoy the travel size during this end of summer//early fall season.

It's a really pleasant scent, however I dont detect any laconic scents. I was really hoping this would be a milky scent but it just isn't. It smells exactly like an Alberto balsam juicy green apple shampoo. There's really no complexity it's just a straight forward green apple scent to me.

A bit more green than I expected, but I still love her! The apple isn't overpowering in the way one would think a juvenile green apple scent to be, but rather a fresh burst of a crisp bitterness cutting through the florals. A full bottle is on my wish list, but I think she'd suit spring/fall better than in the middle of summer right now. The milk note is also a little more subtle than I expected, the overall scent leaning green and a little powdery on my skin. Overall, a good floral scent with a hint of something fresh and a little bitter that'll keep you intrigued. Decent longevity, she started to wear off on hour 4, almost gone by hours 6/8 :(

Mouthwatering, soapy sweet, balsamic and intimate

really wished i would like this, i thought it was gonna be more laconic and powdery, but its straight ripe apples on me. it smells exactly like a hairspray i used to style my peridot cosplay wig in 2020, so not great memories are coming up. I got a smidge of rosemary and fennel just for it to disappear. really sad it didnt live up to the notes that were listed here :(

I really love this, but wish is was more lactonic. I have worn it layered with Fresh Cream and that is what I think it needs. I love the bright apple, it reminds me of a 90s apple shampoo.

Apple shampoo and hairspray. I wish this wasn't so astringent on me but it is. I'm also getting fennel which isn't a note at all. I'm a soapy scent lover but I think the apple ruins it for me. I think I prefer apple in the context of Burst! but not in Cow.

Less lactonic and powdery than i would like, still beautiful. Entirely unisex, not too sweet at all, more balsamic and herbal. Soft comforting and beautiful, sharp but only at opening, dry-down is much less sharp. Rapidly moving to the background, leaving a softer rounder note afloat, definitely more skin scent like, at times i feel i have to splat my nose down skin skin or i would not smell the scent. It reminds me ( 70% ) of "Check Please" by Mind Games only this one is entirely shut down on the hyper masculine sharpness, and more balanced and herbal. And a 30% in the "vanilla greeness" reminds me also of Vanille Camouflage by Dries Van Noten. I wish it was sweeter and more lactonic. This is "lactonic for men" to me, not feminine lactonic, and for some reason is "less signature" zoologist then the other fragrances, and sadly..more designer dna leaning. I can easily recognize the Zoologist touch in every other creation, which truly is inspiring and amazing in perfumery in isolating the ingredients and creating distinctive melodies with them. But this one, if i was trying blind, i would never think it a Zoologist. I am a bit surprised, but i'll do a second wear test in a few days distance, and see if i can change my mood . It has been an hour now... Also i'll wait 3 hours mark on dry down to see if something changes. ** edit ok I finally sense the sweet stickiness of warm milk or a mou candy. But the sharpness at opening / designer dna is still noticeable. Ill do further investigations:) So far 7/10

This isn’t a cow being raised for slaughter. It’s someone’s beloved pet cow who is doted on and spoiled. They treat her like a giant dog and shower her with affection, spa days, and delicious apple treats. Much like a cherished pet, Cow is adorable, happy, and sweet. Unlike some Zoologist fragrances that demand your attention, Cow is gentle. She doesn't punch you in the nose but calmly and quietly invites you closer. It's silky, smooth, and milky. I get crisp apple tartness, soft florals, and fresh green notes that remind me of fields. It's clean, happy, light, and comforting. I like the way this smells and kept sniffing myself while wearing this, it's so lovely and fun!

the first time i tried to test this perfume i got soooooo drunk. i don't find this scent *as* strong as other Zoologist perfumes. the mid-base notes blend well with my skin. it's such a super realistic milk scent, all those vanilla powder milk scents simply do not compare. it's tart and slightly green, definitely powdery but not overpowering. it's such a fun summer scent, don't know how often i'll wear it outside of the season tho!!!

Imagine biting into a crisp apple while sitting in a grassy meadow high in the cool mountain air...that's exactly what Cow evokes for me. The apple note is fresh with a natural crispness that never becomes overly sweet. It's complemented by a soft grass accord that adds a green, outdoorsy quality without overpowering the composition. The overall effect is incredibly clean and refreshing. Despite the name, there's nothing animalic or "barnyard" about this fragrance. Rather than being a literal interpretation of a cow, it feels more like a tribute to its environment. The pasture, fresh air, and crisp greenery that surround it. I also don't get much of the milk note that some people mention, although that could simply be down to my skin chemistry. On me, Cow is primarily a fresh apple-and-grass scent, capturing the feeling of a calm countryside.

its like sticking your head into a bowl of warm milk, nauseating almost

I was so intimidated by, but absolutely adore this fragrance. Though not listed, I was expecting something just a little funky - after all, we do know what cows smell like. This has a photorealistic late spring meadow with a distant pile of warm clean hay, and a clean yet cozy lactonic element. I can see why it can strike some people as just an apple shampoo, but it really is so much more complex under the surface. If you like Light Blue, the Jo Malones, Arden Green Tea, etc, you’ll probably like this. The only problem with it is that I’d love to spritz myself with it multiple times every day, which my budget won’t allow.

I tried it and it was... interesting. On first spray it smelt lovely. Fresh green apples with a subtle hint of something lactonic. But the dry down, my god this was the first ever perfume that made me nauseous. On the dry down on my skin it smelt almost like the same lactonic smell you can smell from new born babies, except more watery? I was kind of sad how it turned out on my skin, but then again nothing from Zoologist is a safe blind buy, so I'm glad I tested it.

I was hoping for a lactonic green apple, but this is none of that. You can't smell any florals either, not even the jasmine. There's something like anis/licorice that dominates this, and there's a slight shampoo quality here too. This has no fresh elements to it, which is usually what I go for, so if you're expecting that, you will probably be left disappointed. Not really green, more aromatic, there's sage here definitely. I've been describing a lot of perfumes as bizarre lately in my reviews, and this one very much warranted it. Strongly dislike. Not a safe blind-buy, don't be like me and sample this one before.

Such a soapy, clean and cozy scent. The first time I smelled the sample, it instantly reminded me of this Dinosaur Crazy Aaron's hand sanitizer we carried in the toy store I used to work at. The green apple is just strong enough for this scent to come across as bright and fresh, but not so strong that it's overpowering. I do wish it projected a little more, and I keep sniffing my arms just to be able to smell it. I just bought the travel size, so hopefully I won't feel as hesitant to use it as I was with the 1ml sample.

People are finding this bathroomy because the opening notes smell exactly like blue Windex. But if you enjoy a clean, green scent, it’s worth waiting for the dry down. I can’t smell the milk note but the florals that come through are delicate and beautiful.

It's like washing your hair with apple shampoo while in a herby milk bath. A bit creamy, a bit medicinal, a bit fruity, a bit soapy. It reminds me of Pear Inc by JHAG but with milk? It sadly doesn't quite work for me but I can see why others like it

This is my favorite scent I've tried from zoologist, it is quite simple, but enjoyable. I do not really get many of the lactone notes, I instead smell a grassy, appley, soap. Picture a bathtub in the middle of a grassland on a warm spring day. Good smell for wanting to be "clean" but unique.

Pretty green apple and a touch of cream. Bucolic white florals elevate the fragrance above the happy silliness it first presents. Drydown is gently herbal, whiffs of health food store.

Surprisingly only smelt the laconic notes. Smells like sticking your head into a bowl of room temp milk.

I wanted to love it but it smells like a bathroom (clean at least) and has an odd scent I’m thinking is like raw milk. It smells very green and clean which is nice but it’s throwing me off

This opens up lactonic, while also very grassy and green, smelling quite like a big glass of cold milk and freshly cut grass. Can't really feel the green apple, although I do get why people find the smell shampoo-like, more like a synthetic apple, fruity, clean smell. The green accords relax in the dry down, turning to a photorealistic glass of milk and flower field image. I personally find it nauseating and I cannot stand the taste and smell of fresh raw milk, and this is the most realistic lactone I have ever smelled in a perfume.

A bit bathroomy.

i dont get lactonic as much as i do chalky shampoo but not in a bad way... the apple fades pretty quickly though
