Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Intense

I blind bought this for a fall night fragrance and it is exactly that. It is beautiful, though I will say it’s a little mature and you have to not mind the bit of licorice before it blends into the skin

I smells somehow cheap/ synthetic and old lady like. Maybe is the lavender I don’t like, but is definitely not a nice perfume to wear it or smell it around .

Better than the original. I dont perceive the patchoulli as much which is a good thing for me. Defintely getting a full bottle asap.

The original Mon Guerlain EdP is my signature scent, so I was expected to love the Intense too. But unfortunately, this just did not work for me.. The heavy patchouli + licorice + musk + coumarin base notes make it spicy, sharply green, and cloying. I barely get any of the lavender here either.

A grown up, more refined, more complex Burberry Goddess in some ways with the heavy vanilla and lavender. The lavender lasts much longer than in Goddess. There's more depth with the patchouli and resinous notes and more brightness in the lavender because of the citrus notes. A beautiful, sophisticated scent for winter or date nights.

My mother and aunts would often wear this (or similar scents) when I was a very little girl, especially to important/formal events. It's extremely nostalgic to me, it makes me feel warm and like I'm sitting in one of their laps again. Very long lasting and quite a strong scent, which I appreciate. One of my favourite scents.

Mon Guerlain Intense feels like Mon Guerlain, but noir. Heavier, deeper, more concentrated, more earthy. There is patchouli in the original too, but here it's amplified, darker, and pulling the composition further into mystery. I also had a slight Earl Grey tea moment with this, it was definitely the bergamot with the earthy notes. The original Mon Guerlain is one of my absolute loves, so nothing will ever reach that level for me personally. Still, I can absolutely understand why some people would gravitate more toward the Intense version. There are people who crave density, shadow, warmth - people who love fragrances like YSL Black Opium, which, to me, is almost unthinkable. But that audience exists, and even an airy, luminous composition like Mon Guerlain can benefit from speaking to it. This version wraps the original DNA in darker fabric. The softness is still there, but less radiant, less open-hearted. It feels more grounded, more nocturnal. It will never replace the original for me, but because Mon Guerlain is my love, I cannot really say anything negative about this one either. It’s family.

After COVID my smell changed, so I don't like this anymore 🥲 I have a full new (100 ml) bottle, bought it from Notino.de this year for 125 Euros (receipt available 🙂) and sprayed it just 2-3 times, only to realize it's not my favorite anymore. Oh how I love my Mon Guerlain Intense...It takes me to a place of coziness and safety, feels so romantic and elevated at the same time. I am no huge fan of lavender, but it does done to perfection here, embraced by the much stronger vanilla heart and the slight cherry-like dry down. One of the best longevity and sillage in my collection, always a compliment getter, and so worth it!

Patchouli and licorice together should be criminal. This is a heavy matured suffocating chemical concoction. I regret buying it. Maybe I'll appreciate it more once I retire 😂

This is significantly better than the original version, which sadly amounted to bug spray for me. This keeps the vanilla and lavender opening but amplifies it significantly and feels more nuanced. This opening is also a bit less herbal, which made it veer into that bug spray territory. I don’t get any citrus. The dry down is incredible and consists of vanilla, benzoin, tonka, and sandalwood on me. So comforting and cozy, I love it.

I know a lot of women don’t appreciate lavender in their perfumes. Although, I think lavender makes a ladies’ fragrance a boss lady scent. So if that’s your turn off, turn away now! Once you get past the first five minutes of the lavender blast, the vanilla here is in fact the rich Shalimar vanilla. The sweet cherry-like drydown thanks to benzoin, sandal and pachouli, takes the cake! The cherry-vanilla duo stays through the wear, as the other notes come and go. I feel like this would be perfect for winter brides. Or to wear at formal events where one needs to evoke main-character energy. She’s classy. A Cadillac among cars. The Aishwarya Rai of perfumes, she’s commanding and timeless in a world chasing trends. Pro tips: Layer with fewer sprays of Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Scarlet for a great day time twist. We’re talking a sexy combination of sweet and tart cherries here. Layer with a few sprays of a lighter sandalwood frag like BBW Fields at Midnight for a dinner/date to make up for the deficiency of sandalwood in MG and make it slightly bolder.

So I bought back a little 30ml bottle and damn... has Mon Guerlain Intense been refolmulated or has my nose changed? Why does it smell so sharp all of a sudden? Its not sweet and balanced, I don't like it :( the lavender and patchouli note is way more prominent than I remember...

I think the Intense Mon Guerlain is beautifuly dark and mysterious. To me it smells smoky and incensy, a lovely deep oriental woody. The lavender is soft and delicate and the vanilla and base notes are really well done - creamy, warm and comforting.

This fragrance feels like a more intense and mature version of Mon Guerlain. Compared to the original, the patchouli is more noticeable, which gives it a darker and deeper character. If you are sensitive to patchouli, it could feel a bit heavy or even slightly headache-inducing. The main notes are lavender, vanilla and coumarin. It is sweet, but not in a gourmand or sugary way. The sweetness feels controlled and balanced. This is a fragrance that leans more mature and “put together.” It doesn’t feel playful or youthful, but rather calm, confident and slightly serious. In terms of use, it works well in everyday situations such as: going to work, going out in during colder days or night meetings in town. It is especially suitable for fall and winter because of its warm and cozy profile. Performance is solid. It lasts around 9 hours on clothes. The projection is moderate to strong for about the first 6–7 hours, then it becomes more subtle and closer to the skin. Overall, this is a good option if you like Mon Guerlain but want something deeper, less bright and more mature. Obs: I dont find similarities between this perfume and guess seductive noir. For me its just two different perfums.

After reading the reviews here, I blind buy a 30 ml bottle from perfume website at discounted price. Sadly I can’t smell anything but only a very faint scent when I sniff from my wrist. Being an Intense perfume, I would at least expect something. After 2 hours still a very faint scent. It’s so disappointing… it may have been an expired bottle ..

I have a ton of perfumes and many expensive niche too , but this isthe best smelling perfume! It’s my signature too! Everywhere I go , I get compliments and people actually want to know exactly the name and many times it happens that I need to go on internet and show them what I wear . This smells beautiful!!

This scent is amazing. It's very 'rich woman who wears designer clothes and carries a handbag worth more than my car while lunching at the Savoy'. It's very high-class and sophisticated smelling. I've never smelled YSL Libre Intense (I really dislike the original Libre so I've never bothered smelling the flankers) but for me, it's one of the better 'mature' scents out there. Not to say it doesn't suit all ages (I don't believe in age limits for scent), but I do think it would appeal more to older women, above 30. It lasts for along while and has pretty strong projection so be careful on multiple sprays. For me, it's floral and vanilla-y first before anything else. I don't smell licorice at all. Definitely not unisex at all. This is a very feminine scent. I would say it has a classic perfume sorta vibe. Not old-fashioned, but to me, definitely something you can imagine a 1950s Hollywood starlet wearing. This is, for the most part, completely unlike what I usually go for but it's just such a pretty, strong scent that I can't help loving it.

If I could take my nose off when smelling this odor. Look the top notes are so nice it does remind me of Libre intense the middle notes are DIRTY, doing it dirty ugh so repellent it is like a sharp dirty version of Libre intense a perfume I actually like. This is AWFUL save your money the base notes are nice but the middle notes are such a dirty mess of notes and I LOVE floral and vanilla. This is NOT smelling like these notes which I love it is just a cheap poor man's Libre intense. Save your money walk away get Libre intense you will not be mad especially once Libre intense sits a minute.

This is one my favorites. I first tried the EDP but was frustrated with its performance. So I asked for the intense for my bday and this is so much better! It still wears light but more of an ethereal light. It lasts about 5 to 6 hours if I do about 5 or 6 sprays. The lavender is smooth and the vanilla and licorice balance each other out. I get more compliments on this perfume than any of my others. Very elegant.

So, on my skin this reminds of Libre Intense. Very much! If you have Libre Intense, do not spend money on this or spend on Libre Intense because it has better projection and sillage.

Mon Guerlain Intense is a marvel from Guerlain, and every winter I return to it with that eager anticipation of smelling something that captivates me and evokes such strong feelings. Few, truly very few, perfumes with an overdose of coumarin appeal to me, but the refinement of this house produces olfactory miracles, and I adore it... An awe-inspiring licorice, an intense, carnival-toffee licorice blended with the exquisite vanilla and carefully cultivated lavender gives me this beauty that I wear with such femininity. I'm noticing that it's starting to become scarce in some perfumeries, and quite a few at that. Is Guerlain going to change the bottle to include it in the Legendaries collection, or is it being discontinued? I prefer not to think the worst.

This is EVERYTHING I wanted the original Mon Guerlain to be!! I love lavender as a note, especially when it's done in a feminine way - and even though I have the original and really like it, it just doesn't have enough oomph for me. This one though.... swoon. It has such a beautiful creaminess to it and a lovely warmth from the vanilla - which is much stronger in this compared to the original. It's elegant, sophisticated, complex, smooth, feminine, sexy, buttery - it's just perfect in every way. The original is much more suited to everyday / office wear (in my humble opinion). This beauty is for the good times and happy memories.

Strong mature scent.

At first I did not like this fragnance at all. It was too loud for me. Too strong. I wear it a while past month, because I wanted to spend it. Then I stop using it for a weak, or two and I started to miss it. And now I love it. Lavender in this perfume is definetly too loud, but after an hour it becomes nice. Stil the perfume is realy nice and creamu, and now I really love it.

It has Libre intense dry down. I was contemplating buying EDP or intense. EDP was love at first sniff. I don’t like lavender because it’s so sharp esp in Libre. But this lavender was smoother in EDP. As for intense, this is too heavy, I like it but not a love. At the same time, the EDP is a love but I find the dry down having so much lavender so I’m caught in between. Maybe 30ml of EDP and 10ml of Intense…

As a child I used to visit my great grandmother not often, but when I did there was always a smell attached to her and her house, funnily enough I never associated this smell with being a perfume, it was just “her smell”, of course years later I understand that it indeed was a perfume that was creating this smell, and it must have been her signature. I got a 2ml sample of this and immediately I recognised the smell and it was the smell of her and her house, and so I typed in when this perfume and the og mon guerlain were created, and so I’ve figured out she must have had to have the og one, I struggle to give a review on what this smells like, but I think this fragrance is a really good example as to why having a signature perfume can be such a special thing, there’s something quite comforting about being able to revisit a person based of scent alone, we must remember smell is linked to memory, and so I’m glad I can smell this and revisit a past memory, and a past place. A really beautiful perfume, one I can appreciate, i personally would prefer if the jasmine was tuned down ever so slightly but very special, very unique, a very well done creation. Much like shalimar it is a staple piece for guerlain, and though not loved by everyone, it deserves applause for what it is and what guerlain is.
