Not unlike a gussied up, frillier Samsara edt.

As soon as you spray this you will think of vintage J'adore by Dior. It's so delicious. The dry-down very much reminds me of Chanel No.5. It's a touch vintage in that way but definitely not as heavy as something like Opium I think. It's more old Hollywood glamour. This scent feels very opulent and seductive in a 'golden' way; the bottle is definitely fitting.

I love this scent. This was my go-to university student La Liceale (1975)-esque scent from 2017-2019.

Too ambery for me

very girly, musky in a sweet feminine manner. lolita-esque

This one was tooth achingly sweet and weak with a vintagey old fashioned vibe. Surprisingly delicate and girlish fragrance considering the sexy bottle. To be honest I just bought it because I loved their lingerie and wanted to live out my burlesque fantasies.

This is more romance than sex. Old fashioned courtship with love letters, longing eyes and windowsills. It's not out there, like other Agent Provocateurs, but it is wonderfully shy and demure. Yes, demure - she said absentmindedly, while fixing her hair in front of the mirror.

when i use this parfume every time gives me incredible headache every time

I got this probably 10 years ago, I recently gave to my mom because I never used it. It’s not ugly but I couldn’t say, that I enjoyed it. Sweet, powdery and extremely old fashioned. I can get on board with some old fashioned, sometimes vintage perfume, even if I don’t choose to wear, I can appreciate. With this one, nope. There was also this hair spray type of overall feel. The bottle I had performed well, no issues with lasting power and a cloud of fragrance around a person wearing it. I don’t think fragrances have age restrictions but with this one, I cannot imagine a young person wearing it.

I bought a partially used bottle of this for a few dollars because I really just wanted to look at it on my dresser. I love it. I'm not sure how old it is, but I'm really surprised by how weak the juice is (I'm talking the second after I sprayed it). The person below who says it's like something tantalizing but just out of reach is absolutely right. Even though many reviewers said it was disappointingly light, I thought it would be fine for me because I'm normally a citrus weenie and can't take the heavy stuff. Coco Mademoiselle is about as sultry as I get -- and speaking of, this kind of reminds me of that scent (only a little woodier and less patchouli-forward), but it's a dream about a memory of a vapor of it. That said, I didn't pay much and I really just wanted the bottle as an objet, so I am nonetheless pleased.

Nothing even after 10 sprays i smell nothing. Lately i have this with all new reformulations unfortunately. In the sell bin it goes. 😞

I absolutely adore this perfume. It is a step inside The Golden Cat in Dunwall, or for that matter, any boudoir or even opium den.

On me this is a fruity floral musk. Current formula. Osmanthus gives it a fruity tone, especially if I keep spraying throughout the day, which I do because it's not a very strong perfume. But it smells good! It's delicate, and sometimes leaves me wanting a bit more, as if I'm hearing a pretty tune, faintly, from across the park. I get a magnolia-like scent, even though that's not listed. Nothing really stands out except the osmanthus, water lily, and musk. I guess the violet and iris blend together in a bitter, spicy way, staying way in the background. If I get a leather at all, it's a very dry suede. Cedar just barely detectable. Again, the main impression for me is a floral fruity musk--osmanthus, water lily, and a nicely complicated musk. Wish the performance were better. Beautiful.

ok i love this and no review, no matter how much affectation i write it with, can do this justice. its addictive. it has this sweet, musky, powdery and somewhat licorice-y scent to it. it projects very well, lasts long. i always reach for this over anything else. sometimes this reminds me of dr pepper. do what you will with that information!

Very confusing opening and drydown - not too sure what notes I'm actually smelling? Leather/suede and musk tick. Jasmin tick, osmanthus tick. On me cedar is also strong. Can't decide if I like this or "will do".. The drydown is slightly powdery and would almost qualify for a vintage scent but it should be more potent. Also there's this cardboard-impression that I'm getting. I never try petfumes on paper - this slightly smells like there's cardboard around me or on me.. To be honest I expected something better from this lovely bottle, knowing how lovely the original AP is..In my book this would only make it to the' okay, I'll use this up at work, because I wouldn't have any other occasion for it'-compartment.

At first I thought it reminds me a lot of my grandma’s signature perfume, so much that I bought her a bottle lol. I then bought it again and fell in love with it. Veeeeryyyyy strong sillage and I love that it lasts for days, even after showering (!!) I get lots of compliments when I spray it. It smells vintage, expensive, chic. Something a sexy italian mafia mistress would wear 🤪

Maitresse, to me smells like scented compact powder after it’s been applied on a cleansed face + the drydown of Chanel No.5 EdP after the aldehydes are gone + warm skin that had been moisturized with white musk body lotion an hour earlier. What a beautiful scent, smooth and soft yet with decent sillage…it has all the comforting elements of an ideal skin scent, while having enough projection to be noticed, keeping you within it’s lovely scent bubble for hours. I smell ylang ylang, iris, creamy white musk, a shy violet, and a fuzzy suede note most prominently, but all the notes are extremely well-blended with fluffy, rounded edges, and there’s this persisting, subtly-sweet, very ‘skin-like’ muskiness to it that smells so intoxicating and nostalgic to me. This scent had me almost crying when I first sprayed it on. It reminds me so much of my late mother in the 90s, specifically the way her face and neck smelled, it’s the combined smells of her perfectly powdered face, her clean, moisturized skin, and ofcourse, the lingering drydown of her Chanel no.5 perfume that she would discretely spray on every single morning before starting her day…it brings back the memory of her warm, tight hugs. I miss her so much and this scent immediately took me back to my childhood with my beautiful mother. Maitresse is so feminine and intimate, it can be cozy-matronly or extremely sensual, or both at once, depending on the context. For example, a child would find this scent comforting and memorable on their mother, while the husband would find it to be sensuous and very arousing on his wife, it has this attractive, intimate aura that makes people want to get close to you to savor your irresistible feminine energy. More than that, it’s also elegant and polite enough to be worn to the office, there’s absolutely nothing lewd or scandalous about this scent at all! It’s Woman with a capital W. As for the age group this scent would appeal to, this is a scent for women who are (and absolutely revel in being) ‘traditionally feminine’, regardless of her age, doesn’t matter if she’s 18 or 80. It would also appeal to those who are drawn to the retro-feminine, boudoir or vintage pin-up girl aesthetics and want an easy, everyday scent to allude to that particular style/era. A couple reviews below talk about it being a scent they imagine Marilyn Monroe wearing, I agree, but this is Marilyn in Norma Jean mode, not glamorous Marilyn on the silver screen, rather she is relaxing at home in a silk kimono after a long, pampering hot bath and indulgent skin care rituals. If you are someone who admires the vintage classics like Chanel No.5, but you don’t feel comfortable wearing them, or perhaps you desire a more modernized and smoother/softer take on vintage perfumes to wear day to day, you should definitely try this scent. Mama would have loved this scent for sure. And I love it too! A very successful blind buy for me (I have the new formulation without the woman on the bottle). Very different from mainstream scents. The ‘vibe’ and feel of this scent is like that of Love, Chloe (my signature that’s been sadly discontinued), eventhough they do not smell alike, both are modern floral-musk scents with a very nostalgic, retro-feminine twist to them, Maitresse has a more relaxed, creamy and intimate personality and Love, Chloe is much more powdery, sophisticated and aristocratic in feel. I’m looking forward to wearing this one often. It’s a safe, all-year round scent for me that can suit any occasion, day or night…the only time this scent would be a no-go is on hot summer days outdoors. I really can’t believe it can be gotten for so cheap when it smells anything but!! Update: I wore it out tonight meeting my friend, it’s a warm, softly breezy summer night…it made him take a huge breath and sigh as soon as I got into the car, he told me I smelled incredible! We hung out for a few hours at a nearby cafe, and after he dropped me back home, he called me to say that my beautiful scent was still lingering in his car. Now, I did overspray this one because I wanted better performance out of it, and I’m glad the scent still stayed true to itself even with nearly 10 sprays…on my clothes, neck, arms, in my hair. I’m ordering another bottle as my back up. For the price I’m paying, it’s an absolute steal, I don’t even mind having to overspray!

Maitresse is a warm fragrance best for colder weather due to the Amber dry down. Maitresse is nearly identical to Tom Ford's violet blonde.

No, this isn't the fragrance of your hot young secretary. This is the scent of a women who lured YOU in. She's classy and well dressed, in a subtly sexy way. When you catch the scent of this as she walks by, seemingly in slow motion, you're undeniably pulled to follow -you do- then before you know it, you realize: she's not your mistress at all ‐ You. Are. Hers. To me, this fragrance plays the long game. Enticing you to move in closer and closer until you're lost in the sweet florals, light powder and sexy musk. This is not a tryst. This is you falling head over heels and wanting to leave your partner for her, even though you know she'll never feel the same way. However, Miss AP, ooh la la, now THAT'S a tryst!)

Анонім★★★★★

Lovely, intimate softness that lasts all day on my skin. Although the bottle, description and name is very boudoir, it does well as an unobtrusive work fragrance that still leaves just a hint of sexiness.

Анонім★★★★★

A beautifully delicate and soft powdery iris with a smooth touch of suede.

Анонім★★★★★

Maitresse is what I like to call neo-vintage. While it isn’t my favorite Agent Provocateur scent (that would be L’Agent, if you’re wondering), it is still quite enjoyable to wear and quite versatile. While appropriate for the boudoir, it isn’t too raunchy or dirty to wear in other settings and situations. The most dominant notes are white suede and textured musk, followed by ylang-ylang and iris. It has Agent Provocateur's unique neo-vintage DNA that can't be accurately imagined just by looking at the note tree. It is feminine with moderate longevity and sillage. (Review based on a batch from the early 2010s.)

Анонім★★★★★

Indiscriminately perfumey, sweet, pleasant but not memorable, note pyramid does not reflect anything in my bottle. Iris? Ylang-ylang? Maybe, in the most synthetic, syrupy sense, but otherwise, no. Suede is also MIA. Disappointing, I was expecting something dirty, bombastic, and boudoir.

Анонім★★★★★

My sister gifted me this perfume and that was the only reason why I hung onto it for as long as I did because this perfume was a complete let down- the florals were overwhelmingly nauseating and I found nothing sexy about it.

Анонім★★★★★

Not surprised to see this compared to Michael Kors' Sexy Amber, because like Sexy Amber, I am basically 75% anosmic to this. Like Sexy Amber, I submerged myself in this juice on multiple occasions waiting to experience the sexy musky goodness that other people are getting, and I just cannot. I can barely smell it. When I DO get anything, it's got an aspect that is somewhat headache inducing for me, which is surprising since this is clearly a rather mild scent. If Agent Provocateur fragrances weren't so crazy cheap, I would say this is not a safe blind buy. I had the bottle without the sexy girl on it (why remove that bit of art? it's so cute!)

Анонім★★★★★

Everyone saying this is whorish or dirty, I shudder to think what you'd think of a lot of what's in my perfume cabinet..I think there'd be seizures all round if this is what you think is whorish and naughty (rofl). This opens with a watery violet leaf and lotus scent, which picks up a little musk and a lot of powder as it dries down. Overall it's pleasant and light, not dirty or sexy or naughty in any way which is a shame as I love sexy, naughty smelling scents so had high hopes from the reviews. I love the original pink bottle AP, which definitely does have some naughtiness going on. In closing, this is a nice, inoffensive spring/summer perfume, suitable for the office or a day out.

Анонім★★★★★

This smells like an incredibly beautiful and wealthy woman with an extensive lingerie collection. It feels like something you'd wear for fine dining or the theater, it smells like romance and seduction

Анонім★★★★★

a very whorish perfume that has a dirty note but it got me so many compliments, even though I hated it. I used to spray a lot in order to finish the bottle - which is beautiful, by the way. It is not a SFW scent. can be worn during the day but it has a very naughty undertone and attracts attention. I had a stranger compliment me. He said: "I really, really like your perfume, please tell me how it's called." I was like - oh, shit... please don't buy this for your mother!

Анонім★★★★★

I definitely get what people are saying when they envision that Marilyn Monroe could wear this. This definitely gives me Chanel No 5 vibes and is aldehydic. I'm surprised to not see aldehydes in the notes. Starts out very strong and then mellows out to a powdery warm musky aldehydic blend. It is definitely well blended and is an impressive perfume for the price. I think if you are a big fan of powders and appreciate vintage perfumes then you will love this. For those that are not into powders, musks, iris or aldehydes they will think this smells a bit elderly. But, this type of 'old lady' description really frustrates me because the descriptor of 'old lady' smell just resembles the trends that those who are older today enjoyed throughout their life. So, this perfume reflects those trends of 'days of old' if you will. Either way, I think it is special and harkens to a vintage powdery vanity from the 40's/50's.
