Very woody, spicy and ambery. The opening notes are quite strong, which might deter some, but after that it's a very sweet and woody scent. On my skin it unfolds like a finnish sauna with the sauna whisk flying around everywhere like a magic broom. This goes well with hot air, surprisingly. Its specifically how my skin reacts to this perfume, so don't expect the same effect on you, hehehe!
I have amouage interlude black iris and it's one of my top favorite fragrance in my collection. When I heard about the mid night oud I was excited to try and yesterday I bought it at very good price. I was shocked when I first spray it. This has very very close scent of black iris I came across. Today I am wearing it as well and it's giving a good longevity. If you like amouage interlude black iris then get this one you will never regret it
It might sound crazy, but it lasts too long! the smell is very unique; a powdery, woody, incense with oregano and leather (smells a bit like weed too). Opening can be a bit to harsh. Longevity: 12+ hours (wore this in the evening, smelt it still throughout the next day) Sillage: very strong
When I first bought it I sprayed it on my hand, and it smelled like synthetic candy banana or circus peanut smell. I'm not sure what was making it smell like that, but I was afraid it would suck. Luckily after giving it a full wearing today(a couple weeks later) it smells amazing. It's woody, powdery, green, ambery, leathery, maybe smoky, and somewhat sweet. Even though it's called Midnight Oud I'm not really detecting oud(at least not any form of it I know). The woods are rich and excellent though. This stuff is wonderful and addicting. I've been smelling my arms all day. It is definitely at home on the shelf with other 70's and 80's powerhouse masculine fragrances. In fact it kind of reminds me a little bit of Polo, a little bit of Oscar Del La Renta Pour Lui, maybe a tad bit of Quorum, a dash of One Man Show, and the amber reminds me of Drakkar Noir but sweeter. I swear I have something else that smells similar Midnight Oud, but I can't think of what it is. This is the only clone of Interlude Man I have, but I may want to check out Supremacy Incense, or one of the others. Go check it out.
i don’t ever make reviews but this is AWESOME. once you have smelt the OG and want a cheaper option, this is a no brainer steal. 10/10
Idk how to explain it but it smells like the inside of a log cabin but in a good way. Extremely polarizing scent profile and definitely not something you could ever consider easy to wear. You will not get compliments with this so if you’re after them look elsewhere.
For the price and availability, this is a pretty solid Interlude dry down clone, imitating the sweet incense base of the original, albeit powdery and softer. And it's great at that. Is it an interlude clone? My bottle wasn't, showing almost know top notes or evolution, just a quick dash into sweet, powdery incense. Longevity and sillage were fine but not above average. It's good stuff. But if you like the drama arc of Interlude, Shagaf Oud Abyad comes closet to capturing the power, albeit not perfectly. It's my favorite of the seven Interlude clones I've tried (although I've still yet to try Ethnic Oud or Zimaya Evolution).
Midnight Oud is a powerful cold weather scent with a bold personality: dark scorched resin, smoky, earthy, incense. Not a scent that will most will love but for the right wearer, it’s a gem. But go easy on the sprays at first until you determine your tolerance level to this punchy beast. A formidable clone of Interlude, and great value for the money. Works well with my skin chemistry. Oregano/ pimento notes surface in a more subdued, herbal way on the dry down. Rich patchouli that adds depth is more noticeable when sprayed on skin rather than clothing. Earthy, like damp soil and slightly bitter with a slightly smoky trail. Not a suitable blind buy unless you are familiar with Interlude. I'll see if it changes character over the next several months, since my bottle is a fresh batch dated Oct 2025.
It’s exactly the same smell as amouage interlude man , so if you have bad taste enough to like one , you will like the other too
Not a blind buy, it's for mature crowd who like deep woods and snoke, very incense and oud foward, has a peculiar freshness depitle its bold footprint.
It’s the ugly clone. They achieved longevity and projection but only by a that infamous cheap aftersmell so common with cheap Arabian fragrances. It smells nothing like the frag it’s trying to copy. Vile in my opinion.
Oregano note so strong
You smokers that hate this yet walk around smelling like a hot boxxed ash tray masking some edt nobody can even pick up, what a waste ! You Orta try this and cover that mess up with this. At least it can blend in and smell like an ashtray with style. But whatever. It’s a Surprisingly good dupe of interlude man. So never mind the bad reviews. I have over 200 bottles and started collecting a few dupes only in the last year. Because who can deny the quality as of lately. This is one of those. It captures the divisive DNA perfectly. The DNA? They call it the Blue Beast—The labs came back and they match. Call it an acquired taste, call it a life-altering scent—just don’t call it soft. The Blue Beast is for mature noses only. Smell it wrong, and you’ll probably question every single life choice you’ve ever made. Smell it right, and you’ll throw on your sharpest jacket and step into every room like you own it. No unicorn farts. No cute teddy bears. No fresh shower jelly. Just pure unapologetic audacity.
Now this is some good stuff! Honestly so awesome to smell oregano in a fragrance, who doesn't love the smell of pizza amiright?! Price is good, smell is good, stays for a few hours. What more do you need.
Blind bought (I don’t know that was I thinking) and oh man do I regret! I was not familiar with this DNA, It is so stronggggg! OMG! Performance and projection is great no complaints, I just have one complaint that is the pimento note is too strong, it even gives me headache sometimes. Overall DO NOT EVERY BLIND BUY THIS! NEVER! If someone who likes interlude men then they can definitely go for this
this is SO good. initially when I sprayed it I was overwhelmed by the pimento and oregano smell. It is so spicy and not what I expected. It dries down to a lot of spicy pimento. For me it took almost an hour for the pimento/oregano/bergamot (mostly spicy pimento) to wear off and reveal the darker, warmer notes. edit: ok, this CAN be really good, but for me it is not one to go on your skin. It's one you spray on your clothes, but spray it on ur clothes the day/night before you go out so its not overpowering.
I am writing this review after trying the OG for a couple of days. If we disregard the price factor, we are comparing different things, so assuming the huge difference in the investment for each fragrance, I can understand the similarities without judging the differences. From my point of view, something that disappoints those who intend to buy a £30 fragrance for £15 is that they do not take into account the quality of the ingredients. In this case, the smoked oregano does not blend with the other notes and remains dominant throughout the entire opening and projection. A perfume can be strident but subtle in the blend, and that is what many OGs do: the quality of the ingredients makes the layers or the blend more harmonious. Is this one recommended? Not for blind purchases, and not if you have tried OG and expect a similar experience.
Tl;Dr : Wanna experience something close to Interlude Man? don't think about it and just get this weaker on the performance and complexity, but again worth the shot no matter how you approach it! The definition of an insane bargain, i got one 50ml bottle (the older version) for a single dollar, so keep in mind that anything i say can be countered with this fact alone. Scent it is much closer to the OG than Afnan incense (only by 15-20%), this one is a bit more balsamic and less smokey in the dry down. 60% close to Interlude in the opening and near 80% on the dry down, but some of the worst performers i ever had in my life (1.5h on skin, and around 2-3h on clothes) although could be batch issue. but again, i payed a dollar, and for this amount of money this cant be beat by any other OG dupe or any smoke/incense scents out there.
Midnight Oud by Ard Al Zaafaran was my first encounter with this type of fragrance, and it was a true revelation. At first it took me some time to understand and fully appreciate it, but eventually this scent profile became part of my identity—my signature scent. It feels like stepping into a luxurious oriental bakery, with rich smoky incense and sweet resinous notes unlike anything I had experienced before. A very good dupe of Amouage Interlude Man, it offers niche quality and a sense of luxury at an unbelievable price. For me, it’s a genuine masterpiece. I find the perfume oil version even more captivating. Scent: 5/5 Longevity & Projection: 1/1 Presentation: 0.5/0 Quality/Price Ratio: 2/2 Compliment Factor: 0/1 Uniqueness: 1/1 Overall: 9.5/10 Office-friendly: No Blind buy: No (only if you enjoy rich oriental incense scents) Recommended age: 25+ Occasion: Formal evenings, special occasions, night out Season: Fall, Winter, cool Spring evenings
I ordered some “quality” clones to try the scent profile of some fragrances I wanted to buy. This is one of them. I must say that never have I felt so repulsed by a fragrance before. There were so many aspects of it that I didn’t like. From the burnt tire smell passing to the pimento-oregano combo. It’s resinous and I thought I would like that, but the sweetness that combines with it, it disgusted me. Seeing so many reviews comparing this to the original, I know I saved myself a surprise. I think I now know that my nose is not as niche and won’t venture into challenging ouds, why should I? If you are into designer or unchallenging fragrances this is very likely a pass. I’m going to let it rest for some months before giving this away to charity. But for me, the worst fragrance experience maybe tied with oud touch, however that was an emotional rejection, this time it was physical. Good for a 25 bucks experiment, but nothing more.
I haven't tried the "OG" or any of the "clones," so I can't compare, but this one certainly comes across as a niche fragrance. There was clearly some oregano up top, and then it settled into a sweet and smoky wood scent with an oudy quality. I paid less than $10 total for a new 50 ml bottle. The bad news, at least for me, is that I soon as I sprayed it on my arm, I felt a tingling, and then it started to get red, so I had to wash it off quickly. I then sprayed it on a paper towel in order to get a sense of what it was like, so I can't comment on the longevity or projection I would get on skin, but it certainly seemed quite strong. No doubt I am impressed, at least for the price, but I wish I knew what caused the rash that began to develop, which has not happened to me with any previous scent, and I have sampled thousands since 2007. UPDATE: Second sampling, on paper. I get a lot of pimento this time, which gives it more dimension, but if you hate that note, it might be an issue. Otherwise, roughly the same impression as the first sampling (perhaps a bit less oud too).
So yesterday I tried this properly after I had a great experience with the first few sprays on my hand. I don't know what happened but all I smell from it is the bergamot from beginning to the end. In the dry down the smoke accord comes in and eventually has a powdery smell with little spice. I couldn't smell the pimento or the rest of the notes. Hope this will change after maturing.
I couldn't wait to apply this today on my hand as a first test. I must say I was never so surprised with any fragrance. This is so good, dark, smokey pepper with sweet patchouli. The longevity is so far very good and the projection seems nuclear. I wanna wear this on a cold very overcast day with dark clouds. This is so underpriced it's almost unbelievable. The quality is really niche level according to my nose. So glad I picked this up. Already thinking of buying a back up bottle maybe.
Bought mine today. Will see what happens in the future with this. Exited to find out how it performance and smells.
Definitely yess interlude men..
I spray this 2 times (more than enough for several hours) inside a reusable bag (supermarket) and swing it like a priest swings the incenses inside a church to purify my workspace. Leave it there on the side for later swinging or casual whiff. Good stuff, wear it on me when I'm in a preaching mood.
When i got into perfumes this smelled very interesting but not for beginners. Now after smelled a lot perfumes and owning80+ this has a unique character very mysterious.Compared to the original i have smelled its 95%the same in the air aint no way u can guess until u compare them side by side .very solid for what its cloning
For $16 you're getting something that smells high quality. I don't care what its supposed to smell like this stuff is insane. I think this could be pulled off in the summer if you're not in an office.
the opening actually kinda smells like tam dao by diptyque. I like it, but its a bit heavy on the spice for me. If it was toned back just a bit it would be much more wearable.
The pimento is different. Very oriental overall and probably not for everyone. Exclusive scent for special occasions.
