Very nice. It opens with crisp, balsamic pine needles like I'm in a mountain forest. The heart plays into this with a subtle, smoky touch incense. In time the greenness fades and some heavy cedarwoods come forward alongside benzoin; the outcome is a sweet ambery like woodiness. I'm torn on whether or not it is the best flanker over Parfum Intense as I really like the woodiness of Parfum Intense.
This is a great winter perfume. Strong and projects very well. Def an attention getter but also very enjoyable to wear. I love this, but its a very insency type vibe so if thats not ur thing u mght not like it. for me 10/10
I got my 150 ml bottle for 72 euros. Great bargain for a great perfume. Starting with the design which is simple yet chic. The scent itself is incredibly pleasant, it's woody alright but at the same time sweet enough to be a crowd please. I can't imagine someone not liking it, great bday gift and I can imagine wearing it anytime and anywhere
To me this smells like if stronger with you had added woodiness to it, but had the vanilla and sweetness taken away from it. Very good!! Only thing is I don’t really like the benzoin in it. The dry down is nice tho!
This is very spicy and woody. I do kind of get the headache comments, I can feel tension right above my eyebrow and behind my eye a few minutes after smelling it. I do have asthma, so I'm more sensitive to smells and chemicals than most people. I put a little spritz on myself and I can tell right away that it's too masculine for me, but it smells quite nice on my husband and he liked it right way. It's a little pricey, but a little goes a long way.
I agree with the ones who complained about headache enducing , despite the notes doesnt show it , but this perfume has wiffs of Givenchy xerous rouge in it , and thats why some are complaining of earthyness and weird feeling exactly as when u apply xerous rouge , except that hero edp is more wearable i would say .worth mentioning that this line varies in notes and performace. 2nd best performer in the line after elixir .
Best in the line. And smells expensive. Not for everyone. Follow my Instagram @rasputinfragrances 🙏🏻
Probably the only fragrance in my collection that i dislike and regret buying. The dry down smells weird to me. Like a dirt or grass smell. this is all just my honest opinion and my nose. Definitely try it out for yourself.
I’ve found people comparing Burberry Hero EDP to Diptyque’s Eau Duelle, and I can kind of see it. If we were to drop the warm incense vanilla, we would land here to this review. For me, this is the perfect unisex embodiment of cedar wood, pine trees and sap. It’s not cloying on my skin at all, and it’s a perfect all rounder for any occasion or outing. With Eau Duelle being my signature scent, I’m heavily considering this as a test variation that I could wear with more masculine outfits.
This smell not safe at all don't blind buy it and don't put it in close spaces it gave me migraine just from smelling someone who wears it
Me gusta, es amaderado y elegante pero en mi piel no se queda mucho rato. No es nada del otro mundo 7/10 Sólido.
I received a decant of this when I bought another fragrance, and unfortunately, it's a pass for me. My nose isn't trained enough to pinpoint exactly which note turned me off, but while I enjoyed the top notes, the dry-down becomes way too sweet and cloying for my taste. If you love sweet fragrances, you might actually like this. It’s definitely a winter and spring scent; in the heat, this would absolutely choke people out.
Wow , this is really good , my first frag so I have good memories but Its genuinely so good
The EDT is the only one I like. Fresh, clean & classy; very underrated. However, all the other ones including the EDP has this funky body odor note.
I didn't 100% dislike the scent but I detected what I can best describe as a burned plastic smell underneath the more pleasant notes. Just was not for me. My daughter likes it tho.
I hate benzoin So i hate this Very cloying to my nose Sorry 😔
One of the highest quality designers
Bought a 1ml decant purely for testing purposes. The scent is genuinely good — rich, versatile, and wearable in most seasons, though I'd skip it on the hottest summer days as it can get cloying. The best way I can describe it: it smells like a teenager who thinks wearing loafers and carrying a book makes him better than everyone else. It has that self-conscious sophistication the kind that's trying a little too hard to seem effortless. Your grandfather would wear this. So would the quiet kid in class who considers himself an old soul. Longevity was poor, but I suspect that's the decant format rather than the fragrance itself. Final verdict pending a full bottle test
Beautiful opening, but the dry-down smells like body odour!
Nothing here for me to write home about. Pretty generic sweetish woody/amber scent. My practice is to buy a lot of decants and spray one on the top of one hand and one on the other. So this morning I started with Chopard Oud Malaki on the left and Bianca Francesca The Black Knight on the right. Oud Malaki is a non event for me to date so no trace discernable by mid morning so sprayed on Borouj Modernity (a like). Around 3.30 now and faint traces of Modernity so sprayed on Hero X two sprays. Meanwhile The Black Knight is down to a pleasant skin scent I don't really want to replace. For context The Black Knight is something I'd be interested in a bottle of and I'd stopped buying bottles. It meets all my criteria, powerful, challenging, interesting, long lasting. Got a feeling Hero is going to fail on all of these. An Ok workplace scent I'd say, otherwise meh.
On paper. I'm a woman. The first seconds are promising, with cedar and fresh frankincense, but it quickly turns into "bad breath" of a man who is fasting and just smoked 🤢 and had a pine green chewing gum to cover up this odor. I think that's the pine note that doesn't blend at all with the rest. After 15 min I get much more cedar woodiness, it's a green-dry, woody, fresh, elegant, masculine, I dare to say sophisticated...plus the "bad breath" lingering until the drydown. I can't unsmell it....and I can't ignore it. 2/10
After testing this scent and JPG Le Male Elixir Absolu, maybe sweeter scents do not fit my body chemistry at all. This smells like armpit/body odor in the opening, and it has an unpleasant sweetness. I also might have gone nose blind quickly, but it doesn't last that long on me.
I like how it smells on skin, this one last for 5-6 hours on me with good projection. Magnetic cap 🤩. It’s 8/10
So, I had to give my thoughts on this one a couple of weeks to settle. Tl;dr: *I* think I love it. It's like a warm woody spicy comfy blanket. My wife, so far, does not, just REALLY does. not. Top notes I get are a bit of piney resin - love that olibanum note - but also a big burst of sweet and spicy and aromatic, like cinnamon/nutmeg and a little fresh ginger, vanilla, definitely amber, plus just a touch of geranium, and maybe... leather? I definitely note the benzoin in the middle (which COMPLETELY turned me me off the Terre d'Hermes). Normally not a fan of the powdery/oily aspect of benzoin (and was legit concerned that it's something about benzoin and my specific skin chemistry), but it's rounder here, better-blended and more stable, so maybe there are source/processing differences, or its proportion is different... something, but it's actually not a problem here. And the incense is there, but subtle enough I don't catch it if I'm not looking for it. It's only a bit in the middle and later on drydown that I even detect actual cedar notes, and they're warm and dry, like in a sauna, not punchy like a cedar chest. One highly notable thing about this scent in my book is the longevity. OMG, this scent just doesn't quit! It lasts on skin easily all day, often longer, and projection stays moderately good for like 8+ hours even before it dries down to skin-level. It stays on clothes (and sheets/pillowcases if you're not careful) for several days. I accidentally got some on my watchband (and it's not fabric or leather, it's the rubber-like synthetic sport watch band) like 2 weeks ago, and I can STILL catch a bit of it if I put my wrist to my nose. And the more long-term intimate aspect of it, to me, is deliciously reminiscent of snickerdoodles right out of the oven - like I get that toasty baked caramel maillard smell, the vanilla, the butter, and especially the spices. The cedar/woody notes are mild enough it's like maybe having the woodstove going in the next room when I take the cookies out. I have NO objection to getting a noseful of that every once in a while (or, honestly, sometimes I just want to stick my face down my shirt for a second). Like, I looked it up and *I do NOT understand why more people don't consider this a full on gourmand scent.* It's SO sweet and dessert-y to me. Love that! As for my wife... the first time she smelled it she had a cold, which (whatever she says) does more than just diminish your sense of smell, it changes it a bit... so all she got was a punch of cedar/juniper and geranium off the top and she outright hated it. I had to give up and shower it off. She's allergic to juniper (so most cedars also set her off a bit, would get anaphylactic if she drank authentic gin, that kind of thing), and even if the allergens aren't in this, the smell bothers her; and she doesn't like floral either, sooo... she's missing all the good parts somehow. In a couple more weeks when she's well over this cold, I might try it again and see if it hits differently. Or I might just wait until fall, because this scent is so warm and sweet-spicy that it's really not well-suited to warm weather. I don't know how it would handle, e.g. being outside and getting sweaty or at the gym. It feels like it would be ill-suited to that anyway, but I fear what a little sweat smell might do to the balance...
A clean, woody fragrance built around dry cedar that smells polished and mature from start to finish.
This is what I imagine a really sexy well-dressed man in glasses, quietly reading a book in a corner of an ornate old library would smell like. Very balsamic and resinous. Sweeter than I expected, but not in your typical fruity way. It smells like freshly chopped cedar wood and sweet tree sap. Can be dressed up or down (within reason) excellent choice for daily scent in cooler weather. Longevity is great! Probably not the best bet for compliments as it is elegant in its simplicity. Not super "in your face"
I was so looking forward to this fragrance. I tested it out at Sephora, loved it, tested it through the drydown and all. Got it, and it was a little sweeter than I expected because of the sweet facet of amber. Don't get me wrong, I could definitely see it as being a mass-appealing scent, its amber-woody with a subtle sweetness everyone would like. But, I just feel like there's something so missing. It has woody depth. It's very well rounded by amber, it adds sweetness and all. But it's obvious this was a fragrance where the designers were playing it on the safe side. It absolutely has depth, but very little complexity. I'm absolutely no perfume expert, but I think if they would add warm spice or some extra dimension to it, that would be what Hero EDP is missing. Linear fragrance, not much of a development, which I'm alright with. It does get better to the end, though. Opening: 6.5 When it's dried down and such, heart-base part: 7 It's a great fragrance, don't get me wrong, it just feels like it lacks a 'wow' factor.
J got this for my birthday, not my usual taste but I really like it! I didn't find it too strong nd I over sprayed a lil bit but I still got a few compliments so maybe my nose just got used to it. Its warm and balsamic in the beginning especially, but it gets a little woodsier and the pine comes through more after the warm spice. Though its warm and a bit spiced it still smells v clean to me, a bit like a hair pomade or aftershave. I dont find it too sweet or syrupy tho I feel like it stops just before being too ambery warm for me. It clings to skin better than clothes. I like it smells masculine nd a lil sweet
MY FAVOURITE FRAGRANCE OF ALL TIME AND POSSIBLYMY SIGNATURE SCENT! I had a 50ml bottle once and once i finished it, i IMMEDIATELY went and bought a 100ml one. very seductive and unique. it rocks during the fall and on those summer nights.
A family gathering in the holidays. Black tea underneath the Christmas tree with a candle nearby. Pleasant if not a little boring.
