i think you missed baby wipes on the top notes.
I feel happy and light wearing this. It gives me a sense of satisfaction and calm mind. It is not those spa scents at all, but it gives me a sensation of being well. Projects less thant edp and edt. But it is very satisfying to feel it during the day, very close to skin and fabrics. Lasts all day on me.
Sprite, bio oil and baby powder. Crisp and clean.
Transparent, watery almost diluted version of classic Chanel N5 in the modern way. Very clean, fresh and light, perfect for summer, but it nice even in winter. In cold weather it’s become very crisp and glacier ❄️ Elegant and classy. Reminds me of frozen glass poured with sparkling water and added a lots of citruses 🍋🍊
It smells like Autan anti moscquito spray, Im’m so sorry.
Perfect modernization of the cult N°5. Indeed much more transparent as the name suggests but beautiful, especially for spring and summer while the edt is fit for the whole year but reminds me of champagne and as such I like it in wintertime. The edp is much warmer, for autumn and winter evening. This is sparkling, glittery citrusy-floral with aldehydic shine turning it abstract. The only problem I have with it is that I do not feel it on myself. Very faintly. I do not feel it also on my Mother, contrary to her edt. As such it is disappointing me. The scent itself I love, the performance I do not. The father's creations wear perfectly, leave a trail and envelop for many hours. They are such an experience. But this and Chance Fraiche edp, Splendide, Tendre edp, Eau Vive that I bough recently to add to my Chanel collection? They have close to zero presence and are soon skin scents though last close to skin for many hours. But where is the diffusion? Hmm... I like however how I can perceive sweetness and warmth in this otherwise cold scent - this is the vanilla beneath jasmine. Looking at the pyramid and contemplating the scent I can perceive nearly all the notes but without it I am only perceiving aldehydes, jasmine, neroli, lemon, bergamot and vanilla. I think it is worth having for anyone chic and obligatory for N°5 fans. To cope with the close to skin performance I sprayed my hair - so much better! Now I feel the scent. Wearing 6 sprays. This version is fit for scent sensitive. It is long lasting, with me already a couple of hours. I perceive the new N°5 Premiere as similar but more powdery, I will have to buy it to complete my collection. With time I became enamored with N°5, and even push my Mother to wear it again. It is such a legend.
Very interesting and good version of the classic scent!
Sweet, powdery and airy! This smells so sophisticated and boujee. The first time I wore it, I couldn't smell it on myself after about 3 hours. That led me to layering this with other fragrances (which this absolutely does not need since it is a well rounded fragrance by itself) but I did it for the sake of longevity. The first time I layered it with Mojave ghost but that didn't work out that well since MG overpowered the scent of this. but the next layering... omg!!!! JHAG not a perfume and chanel n5 l'eau!!!!!! wow!!! my new fav fragrance combo. they not only smell beautiful together but I got incredible performance from this scent. 7 hours and I still had a pretty strong scent bubble around me. try these two together and thank me later <3
Literally love this fragrance, on my 3rd bottle. Smells divine light & fresh & expensive. Problem is it does not project so well / last on my skin. I have tried two things layering with no 5 L'eau on Hand Cream , bit meh , & also with the classic no 5 body lotion , that is the best way forward for me.
smells like really expensive shampoo, the citrus notes are very prominent
This you should buy when the heat starts. Even though you know it is going to be goooorgeous in the heat- before the heat you will wonder million times why on earth you thought it is wonderful and spent so much money on it.
If Chanel No. 5 Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum belong to crisp autumn leaves and winter nights, then No. 5 L’Eau is the scent of spring and summer itself. This is a fragrance meant for sun-drenched afternoons—wear it outdoors, with a book in hand, settled beneath the shade of a tree. It carries the scent of warm grass beneath you, the paper as you turn each page, and the breeze carrying wildflowers from nearby fields. In my mind, this is the No. 5 that suits Marilyn Monroe best—not the glamorous icon, but the girl before the world knew her name. I picture her on a California beach in the early days, posing for André de Dienes, barefoot in the sand. Carefree. Youthful. Utterly happy. L’Eau smells like clean white cotton sheets—pure, innocent. Spritzed on after an evening shower, it feels almost sacred before sleep. And come morning, a faint trace still lingers on your skin: a delicate citrus and powder scent, like sunlight filtering through sheer curtains.
I love Chanel House and this one is wonderful. It's totally my type of perfume. It's soft, fresh, clean, elegant. Unlike Coco Mademoiselle, which has a more masculine side, Chanel Nº 5 L'eau is totally feminine.
Today after chasing down the last available pieces of my fav Chanel lip gloss which they are reformulating and the colour is no longer the same(of course), the SA told me they are discontinuing this gem as well. I’m so fed up with Chanel lately like is everything okay up there? Greeding too much? Or you are going to reformulate this and change packaging for a “better” price again? So disappointing …
It's almost impossible for me to write this review because I have such high respect for this perfume. First of all, the technical characteristics of this fragrance are remarkable given its transparency and the lack of discernible modern base notes designed to project for miles. It's diffusive and long-lasting, while creating the most effervescent, transparent and glittering haze around the wearer. The contrast between powdery, sparkling, sweet, and dry facets plays with you over the course of the wear, the proportions of these contrasts changing over the course of the day. This is a masterclass in subtle beauty and it's an easy daily wear without being reductive or simplistic.
This is probably the scent I've thought about most in my life. All of the no 5 s are truly a unique scent. The first time I smelled this scent reminded me of laundry in a house on a farm in Sicily. This version of the No 5 is way more comfortable to wear and not as pungent. I like it!
maybe theres something wrong with me but all i can smell is dove liquid hand soap + gave me a terrible headache. smells like a grandma's hands.
The daughter(or maybe even granddaughter?) of the iconic Chanel N.5 which in my opinion smells better than the original. It’s pretty light and fresh, suitable for any season and weather, it’s delicate yet classy. Perfect for someone who wants to be “effortlessly chic”
I know that many others love this fragrance, so I fully acknowledge that my nose is in the minority here! I smelled this fragrance for the first time and I was immediately transported to a public bathroom. Specifically a public bathroom with a cheap and very strong air freshener. I was so surprised because the notes sounded lovely on paper and I do enjoy many other "freshie" fragrances I thought were roughly in the same category as No 5 L'eau (e.g. D&G Light Blue, Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt, Chanel Chance, etc.). I wish I could enjoy this one, but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. Glad I sampled before purchasing a full bottle.
I dont know how this one smells but they slapped no 5 on it so I know it just smells like straight granny poop
Lovely, but the eau de toilette disappears almost immediately. It has the potential to be a great summer fragrance, reminds me of a female version of Bleu de Channel. Aquatic notes, orange, neroli, and bergamot. You get a blast of freshness and sharpness and then instantly, it’s all gone. I don’t mind poor longevity in a fragrance, but this is almost not worth it for me. Truly a shame because it’s such a balanced, refined, and pleasant fragrance. This may be controversial, but I think it’s very similar to CK One Summer 2018. Of course, Chanel’s version is much finer, but CK One Summer has better longevity and silage and is very affordable.
My mom originally bought this perfume and I smelled it on her and loved it is so nice and fresh and fruity but there are also lovely undertones of warmth making it a perfect all around perfume. It is perfect for everyday usage or special occasions I love to wear it whenever I want something really fresh and not to sweet (I usually tend towards sweet and musky). I ended up stealing a decent of this and I to fully ask for another one before she ends up selling it .

I love L'eau! She is an incredibly long-lasting, fresh, and expensive/rich vibe aromatic experience! If an extremely upper-crust and luxurious hotel had the most beautiful bath products, they would smell like L'eau as L'eau is the epitome of chic/elegance = quiet luxury. In my experience, she lasts as long if not longer than the EDP. This is a wonderfully modern yet timeless take on a classic. Worth every penny, especially for hot, humid weather. You'll always feel fresh and confident without needing to overwhelm anyone.
This version still smells old and dated and austere in the worst and most somber way. Like someone’s rich and racist grand matriarch. I hate this.
Picked this up today for my summer holiday perfume, it smells incredible and will be perfect in the hotter weather! Perfect combination of citrus, clean and fresh! The original no5 dna is definitely in the background but feels very modern, chic and more age appropriate as I know the original no5 can be reminiscent of grandmothers. It’s powdery in the most an elegant way, I feel this will make anyone feel well put together and will layer nicely with my Lancaster after sun lol.
When I first tried this at the beginning of my fragrance journey, I judged it too harshly. My nose wasn't ready - it only wanted vanilla and sugar back then.. I had gotten this as a gift and ended up exchanging it - it still haunts me to this day to think that the Ulta employees may have had to trash that beautiful bottle. Now that I'm more matured (seriously - I think aging past 30 and/or motherhood makes your scent preferences shift permanently) I can see this for the beauty it is. Definitely has the vintage vibe that sweet-oriented noses may turn away from, however this is an insanely addictive powdery scent. Fresh in the opening, but as it dries and sits, it becomes like a lightly sweetened dove soap or even baby lotion. So comforting and heavenly. Does not last more than a few hours but life is short, just spray it again!
It is beautiful and light, as the name suggests. Imagine the disappoint when the longevity is only 5 minutes.
I have an older bottle of this from 2020 and the performance was exceptionally weak. Sometimes I’m okay with a scent knowing when it’s time to leave. All of that to say, I haven’t used it in quite a while and decided to wear it out last night in the southern heat to a large event and I have to say this is where L’eau absolutely SHINES! It didn’t choke people out but I kept getting whiffs of it throughout the night in the most pleasant way. I can also still smell it on my skin this morning. Perhaps the older bottle has had time to age and perform better. Try it in the heat my friends, you will be most pleased!
A gorgeous scent that I’d wear confidently as a man.
