this is one of those fragrances that makes the wearer feel pretty & elegant. all the notes blend nicely together, with the white florals as the center. safe to use almost everywhere, esp. in the office since it's inoffensive. moderate longevity & projection.

only now has this perfume gained a full Appreciation and the Specific Luxuriousness it shall always have had, but now more recognizable and verifiable to my nose, where I finally seem to be able to smell Fruits, after fifty years in Perfumery ! [1974-2026] so this means the Tinkling, Juicy Fizzing, Summery Joie de Vivre with Citruses, Peach, Red Fruits, Black Currant and a Tea-like astringency of the Petitgrain. these last months I already noticed a greater capability to smell either hesperidic Fruits as Bergamot, Lemon, Orange, then also all kinds of Berries and Black Currant (leaf) whereas Raspberries and Strawberries no longer seem to fly me by ... I must say I smell them better in Chanel, Creed, the Notorious 1980s-Hooker Perfumes, the Famous Flower Powder Bombs Launched in the 1980s, 1990s, the Chypres of the 1970s and then some. yet this perfume, from which I had one of the first Bottles as launched in Edp (at the Amsterdam Chanel Boutique) in 2017 and which struck me as rather Cold and Bland, is really uplifted in this Rendition making it a more Full and Opulent White Flower- Meteorological Insurgence with a whole characteristic Presentism and Chanellisime Classicisme. Coconut, Musk, Sandelwood and Vanilla serve to fill this Super Elegant Perfume fully outward.

Thick, gorgeous, cream velvet gardenia perfume; accented with exotic ylang ylang, jasmine, & burst of a whole fuzzy peach & feather-light touch of coconut. The musk here feels so pure, clean, fluffy and white; definitely not the harsh, screechy aroma chemicals found in modern musk-containing fragrances. Sparkling clean -- like the most luxurious, expensive laundry. The other listed notes don't stand out to me -- they're impeccably blended. If you love gardenia, peach, and clean laundry smells, Gabrielle Essence is pure perfection. A lovely, elegant, and versatile quality perfume. Chanel makes the best florals, hands down. This smells like heaven and all the angels.

i own more than 30 fragrances and i think this is the only safest perfume i have right now. ( i usually go with dark or heavy ones ) you can literally wear it everywhere, hospital, office, small room etc. it's not a head turner, but you would know you won't choke people with that. someone told me it's nice but smells boring on you :D EXTREEEEEMELY safe.

the minute i saw tuberose in the notes i thought omg old lady but I kinda like this. Yes its very mature but not in a horrible way. I think its done very nicely. It does have a bit of a soapy smell but again not in a bad way, everything is blended just right. I do think that its a bit basic of a fragrance for the price. I'd buy this but it would have to to be under $40. It is NOT a $195 fragrance.

This is a skin scent on me and very short lived, unless I'm highly anosmic. It also contains some of my least favorite notes...tuberose and vanilla. But I think the ingredients are such high quality and so well blended, those notes add instead of detract. Very creamy and delicious. I wish I could afford it.

One more Chanel perfume that smells like a public bathroom. Why does so much of classic Chanel smell like piss? Besides that, it's a nice, fresh, elegant floral

I tend to hate all the Channel perfumes. I received a Gabrielle sample and it’s been in my closet for about a year. Despite the lack of initial excitement, the scent is doing something unique for me. It makes me want to be a better version of myself. Chic and put together, but still youthful, without being uppity or overbearing. Edit: new thoughts after wearing it for two days. The scent is elegant, but there is absolutely nothing special about it. It’s a generic Channel, albeit lighter on the nose than her more famous cousins. The dry down is nothing but the base notes. There is nothing fresh or citrusy about it. I’ll have to take your word about the floral notes being there.

This is a very classy white floral with an even balance of the different floral notes. If you're scared of ylangylang and jasmine being too heavy and yellow, they're not overpowering at all and adds some nice complexity to a white floral. It's not cold smelling and the musk is not predominant, but makes it clean. I can get some of the berry and peach fruity top notes but not so much of the citrus, but the fruitiness makes it lively instead of corporate like- if that makes sense at all. 10/10 favorite white floral of all time

White florals and fruity notes; a very sweet scent reminiscent of tropical sun oil, with a distinctly designer feel. 2/10

Opens with a nice blend of citruses and fruits but turns into basic department store powdery, woody white floral fragrance. Nothing really blowing me away here.

the term 'solar perfume' I first encountered in Paris, when Hermès's '24, Rue Feaubourg' came out. there is something from that, in this. with the term 'prismatic perfume' I became known when I bought Chanel's 'Allure' with a nice booklet. it meant that all the notes came in your face not, following the rules of a 'perfume pyramid' but more compartmentalized without borders.... there is something from that,in this. this is without doubt a beautiful perfume and a perfume with that particular 'chanellissime'. it also reminds me of the unending (and lovely) tenure of Calvin Kleins 'Eternity'. that perfume stayed the same, even if WW III would have broken out. now I loved Calvin Klein, for his fashion, and for 'Obsession'. I loved Eternity but the sillage went on, and on, and on.almost ad nauseam. it was a white flower bomb. there is something from that, in this. also reckognizing that these perfumes ('Gabrielle' and 'Gabrielle essence') do good at the Asian Markets. I maintain that this is an excellent perfume. it gives that pillowy, billowing sensation of an almost aching mémoire, while the notes combine in groups and the perfume is so well blended that you can barely tell them apart. the fruits citruses, peach, red fruits, black current and the écorce petitgrain come in a cluster, and not only that, they already foreshadow the coming of the white flowers. for me it is very difficult to distnguish in particular the blackcurrant. which, for me, would have been allowed to give off its pissy note. yet one can sense that the peach-citrus orientation would have been different without it. there is some piquancy there. yet in the Diana Vreelands it flies to the ceiling separate. one must consider the aim of this perfume was, to give 'Gabrielle' more body, more length and boldness and presence. that is succeeded without doubt. already 'Gabrielle' had that 'one flow' floating along. but here it is richer, fuller, not impertinent, not rauckous. but it is a Chanel perfume. then about the comparison with Diors 'Adore' I have the 'Dior. Infinissime'. that is a beautiful perfume. yet somehow in the j'Adores there is something sour. I do not think that it is a sister to Gabrielle. 'Adore Infinissime' puts a Grasse tubereuse in its center. now already that is a detropicalized tubereuse. I love Serge Lutens' 'Tubereuse Criminelle'. it has a strongly and disorienting mentholated whiff. this is unthinkable in Gabrielle. they have Sycomore, Paris-Edimbourg, they have Boy. Chanel Gabrielle Essence is every inch a lady, not a hooker. it could have been a high-end call girl Madison Ave, Boulevard Haussman et cetera. but perhaps we have the original and underrated (or, not) 'Coco' for that, sister of Giorgio, Poison, Obsession, Knowing, Y and no.19 etc. this is your neat woman in the Chanel deux-pièces, who lunches with the ladies who lunch. in Paris, Moscou, London, Tokyo, Sao Paulo and New York. as for the imput of the white flowers and Y-Ylang, with even a note of (indistinguishable) 'white flowers', there is an indolic almost triste, accent in the clouding of the perfume. they have deliberately not chosen for Gabrielle in whichever strength to become a Giorgio or a Vero Kerns 'Rubj' in all its orange flower-civet pungency. this all makes Gabrielle yet a fluff of a perfume, this time more strong and dense. and I love it. the flacon is a work of art. now if you want to drop dead (and I want) by wilthed indoles you must try J.A.R.'s, either 'Diamond Water' or 'Jardenia' or Dusitas 'Mélodie d'Amour'. or Oriza L. Legrands 'Marions-Nous.

The florals a so airy and clean. Classy, pretty and bit sexy, like an off the shoulder blouse!

Honeysuckle. It's all honeysuckle.

Looking to swap Ella K Reflet for this in the EU if anyone is interested :)

I love this perfume! It makes me feel classy and sophisticated. I can smell the Chanel DNA but in a more light version. Sunny and bright. Not loud, but modest.

When Gabrielle first came out, I had a couple of samples and loved it- it was feminine, classy, and beautiful. A short time later, I went back to the Chanel counter to buy a full bottle to treat myself before a job interview. But now that I had a bottle, I didn't like it as much. It is pretty but also stiff and formal. It wasn't until recently, years later, that I see that the woman at the counter gave me Gabrielle Essence. Now I got a sample of the original Gabrielle, and trying them together, the og is brighter and almost effervescent due to the grapefruit. However, unlike other flankers from different lines (looking at you, Chance) both the essence and the original smell very similar. Normally, I can't stand tuberose (smells like grape soda), am not a fan of coconut, and petitgrain is often bitter on me, but this perfume is so incredibly well blended that I would have never guessed it had these notes. Both scents are femine, bright, classy, and pretty, but also austere in a way. They are great for a job interview or professional event when you want to portray classy femininity, but a little too standoffish to wear on a date. Good for church in the spring, a dressy brunch with the girls, and for dinner when you meet your significant other's parents and you want to make a good first impression. It's not too juvenile, but mature without being "grandma". Two sprays and this lasts the day and lingers on your clothes, but doesn't choke you out. I do think I like the original a little better, but the essence is still a beautiful scent.

I wouldn't know how to describe this fragrance, except that to me, it is like a blend of all other Chanel classics - a bit of Allure, a bit of Coco Mademoiselle, a hint of Chance. I know it doesn't make sense, but in my memory it is all of them beautifully mixed together. I love Gabrielle Essence, and I can't wait to buy it. I see it as a fall scent, it is a bit heavy on the florals, but if you are a true Chanel lover like I am, you are going to like this.

Pretty, clean, classy.

Анонім★★★★★

It’s nice, but it doesn’t suit me. It’s very classy and elegant, and I’m more into dark, playful scents.

Анонім★★★★★

Very bright and sunny without being too "fresh". It mellows lovely after about two hours and turns more creamy on me. It feels optimistic, not intrusive. Like most people, I would wear this to work. Feels more solar and best for spring and summer, unless you live someplace warmer year round.

Анонім★★★★★

lovely, but overall empty and feels a bit soul-less. as expected from chanel, it doesn't quite tell a story, but it fits as a perfume that appeals to many and remains uncontroversial. perfect for work or for professional environments, so that if someone asks you can coyly say, 'oh it's chanel' and get a positive response in reply

Анонім★★★★★

I LOVE THIS! It look a while for my bottle to aerate and let the molecules mingle and disperse. Now, after 3 months of intermittent wearing(I hv a LG collection), I can now experience this in full with the notes present and smoothed out. I truly, enjoy wearing this and find it appropriate year round.

I got GE as a gift before Xmas. I ve been testing it ever since. And unfortunately, on my skin this perfume does not project AT ALL and does not last AT ALL. Chanel says it is more potent than original Gabrielle, but to my amazement original Gabrielle last on my skin for at least 8 hours and projects much better. GE is similar to J adore, but leaves no scent trail whatsoever. If I payed such a high price for a fragrance which can t project more than 5minutes, I d be mortified. It is a shame because other than that the scent is pretty. Jour de Hermes or J adore are in the same scent category (profil-wise), so buy this instead.

Soft white florals with a creamy, elegant twist. It feels feminine, polished, and perfect for daytime elegance. Light, smooth, and very “clean luxury.”

Анонім★★★★★

Pleasant, respectable, herbal spring scent. Lovely and sophisticated but I like rather than love it.

Анонім★★★★★

Fucking gorgeous

Анонім★★★★★

I absolutely LOVE this perfume. I'm not a Chanel girl usually, but the florals in this absolutely sing. This is sweet, blooming, robust florals all the way down, but in a super smooth way - nothing overly sharp or heady. Very expensive and luxurious smelling.

Анонім★★★★★

Smells like the 2000s. Boring. Great for office evening events when you know you're gonna be surrounded by the same ol boring people

Анонім★★★★★

Love this ♥️ Easy to wear and suitable for the office. Beautiful, warm, classy, fresh, perfect sweetness. Not juvenile, but not too old either. Like an elegant lady with a slightly sweet lotion. Becomes even better in the dry down.
