Milk

My signature scent since it has been released - I feel like it can be worn anytime, anywhere. I describe it as more of a warm & sexy lactonic woody vanilla scent. Once the alcohol in the opening fades, it settles into more of a skin scent that's feminine with an edge. I also do love to layer this with other sweeter vanilla scents. Will always repurchase this.

the banana hair mask from the body shop smells exactly like this for some reason. this smells like you're steaming milk on a wood fire outside and dunking marshmallows in it. this is SUCH a strong fragrance it's insane. repurchase forever although it's mainly an indoors at home bedtime cozy frag. it's definitely got a smoky woody base it can hurt my nose sometimes but i love it. if milk fragrances usually smell like vomit on you why are you buying this 😭

I had high expectations but the marshmallow and lactonic notes were underwhelming for me. The longevity is weaker than I expected. I don't hate it, but it didn't hit the marks I was hoping for. The scent is comforting, and reminds me of midwest fall bonfires. Not something I will buy again, but happy to have in my collection and plan to play around with layering it with some sweeter fragrances to see if it tones down the mahogany.

Milk is one I'm really glad I gave a chance beyond my initial impressions. I wasn't a fan when I tested it on paper (it really gave nothing on strip), but it completely changed on skin. On my skin, it is a warm, creamy and woody fragrance with just enough sweetness without tipping into dessert/gourmand territory. Rather than smelling like actual milk, it leans into a soft, smooth and woody profile with a subtle milky sweetness that feels balanced and is easy to wear. I also think this is a fantastic fragrance for layering. Its creamy, understated character adds warmth and depth without overpowering whatever you pair it with.

This smells like cinnamon!!!! It has amazing projection and sillage and really fills the whole room in a good way. It's a very spicy vanilla but I swear I'm getting cinnamon or even cloves in this although it's not listed. It smells like walking into a room with freshly baked cinnamon rolls

Hear me out: when I initially tried Commodity Milk, I absolutely despised it!! I was expecting something sweet and it wasn’t that at all; it smelled like a bonfire and musk and not in a good way. I ended up tossing it to my husband’s side of the dresser. Months later, I suddenly got the itch to try this fragrance again but with something sweet to (hopefully) balance it out. I’ve tried it with Phlur Vanilla Skin body mist and that was good. Let me tell you, Commodity Milk paired with the Frenshe Moon Milk lotion and body spray is absolutely out of this world! I’ve also tried it alone again and it’s definitely grown on me!

I had heard about this fragrance before receiving it as a gift yesterday and was so certain I would not like it. I thought the idea of smelling anything like milk was abhorrent, and not just because I avoid dairy. I prefer sophisticated scents and the marshmallow-ness in the notes made me wince - sounds like a scent for tweens to me. But when I tried it this morning for the first time I was taken by surprise - this fragrance has some muscle! The loudest note on my skin is thankfully the tonka bean, which sets the mood for the fragrance to be elegant rather than juvenile. I really, really like it! When I ran it past my husband's nose he immediately recoiled and said it "stinks" and smells "rotten" - so apparently this scent is super subjective and not a safe blind buy. And yes, I'll still where this at home if I feel like it!

I was initially greeted by a sharp, screechy alcohol blast that fortunately faded quite quickly. To my nose, the lactonic effect remains very faint and comes across as rather linear and flat throughout the wear. Instead, Milk is dominated by a balsamic-woody character, driven mainly by the mahogany, musk and tonka bean accord. The balsamic facet takes a while to develop but becomes increasingly prominent as the fragrance settles on the skin. Personally, I prefer Maison Asrar's Milky Way, which delivers a richer, creamier and more nuanced lactonic profile with noticeably greater depth. As an added bonus, it comes at just a fraction of the price (minus the bottle design).

I love a perfume with a good woody scent in it, but unfortunately this one uses a very synthetic fake wood scent which completely overrides anything else that may be perceptible in this perfume (that is if there is anything else that is perceptible- there may not be) and smells solely of cardboard. An instant scrubber for me - a massive caution to anyone whose skin and/or nose picks up those kinds of scents. I’ve heard others do get a completely different experience but I cannot say anything on that

Sweet, gourmand, feminine. A clean, marshmallowy scent with this very subtle gentle tone of clean linen sheets or baby powder- barely noticeable. The dry down was very sweet and gourmand to me, like warm sugar and a vanilla note.

Oh my god. Yes it smells like food but soured rotten food. Smelling my wrist makes me genuinely gag and cough I never had this reaction for a perfume before. I'm afraid scrubbing won't be enough so I have to shower to get this off me. It legit smells sour but in a toxic poisonous way.

LoooooOooOveeeee ! Never knew what I was missing . But I knew once I start sniffing , I fOooOooOooOound ... you . I've been looking for the whole in my heart to be filled by Brown Girl Jane's "Dusk" being discontinued . I've searched far & wide for a dupe ; honing in on notes & accords similar to it and being met with disappointment . But , with Commodity , I found BETTER ! Finally , my new signature scent . Dusk leaned more masculine on me which I didn't mind , but Milk is the perfect balance of masc/fem but leaning a little more fem . I'm DEFINITELY buying a full bottle ! I wonder how much stronger it is under the Bold line 🤔 DON'T TAKE THIS AWAY FROM ME ! 🫵🏾😳

I would not consider this to be a marshmallow fragrance. It is cozy, sexy, warm, and inviting, but not a safe blind buy. It can smell quite harsh if you are expecting a sweet, lactonic fragrance. My mom once told me it smelled like a vape when I got in the car wearing this. However we still both really enjoy this fragrance. Fair warning it can be very woody with almost smoky undertones. Definitely signature scent worthy for the fall/winter. If you want to try something less potentially cloying, try Gold by Commodity.

my hair smelled exactly like this after i used garnier almond & argan shampoo + conditioner and went to a bonfire (complimentary)

it didn't smell like milk or marshmallows to me at all. i sprayed it on my hands and shirt in sephora and the scent made me nauseous after a couple of hours. it's really strong, i did think that it was more male-leaning, and that i would enjoy it much more if a man wore it. i might've sprayed too much on myself. i expected it to be similar to dedcool perfumes, but it reminded me of some jo malone perfume, can't remember which one (which btw also made me nauseous). really wanted to like it, really glad i didn't blind buy it. will try milk- as i heard it's sweeter/more feminine, but i'm a little traumatized from being haunted by this scent all day and going home early just to take a shower

Sweet but not closing. Soft, no sharp edges. Comforting and yummy scent. It's inviting and friendly. Not pretentious at all. In essence it's warn sugared milk.

where's the milk? all I smell is marshmallows and bonfire

I have been wearing Milk for about a year. I will write out the notes as I experience this fragrance Top Black pepper, mint, metallic accord, toasted sesame Middle Vanilla, coconut, cinnamon, ylang ylang Base Patchouli, tonka bean, bonfire accord, mahogany, pine & fir resin Love. Signature worthy

I love this fragrance. It's very cozy and comforting, and it reminds me of a chai latte. However, the longevity is simply non-existent—it’s pretty much gone within two hours, even when I spray it on my clothes.

I have all 3. This is much heavier than bold in a discouraging way, over whelming wood masculine note that is persistent . Obviously drowns so called milk and marshmallow .this is far inferior to bold

Smells so good on my skin. Warm, sweet, woody and musky. Totally intoxicating. This scent note works perfectly with my body chemistry. Anything cool or citrus can smell like spit on me. Cucumber and guava smell like vomit and passion fruit smells like BO. I believe my skin to be very acidic.

Too sweet for me. I don’t know how to describe this but it doesn’t smell like milk or lactonic at all, it smells like cooked brown sugar and something slightly bitter and deep but very sweet.

Looks like there is a version of this in a clear bottle that actually smells like Milk. This one just smells like burning rubber and I guess mahogany. What's weird is the test on paper strip gave off interesting egg nogg notes but on my skin its unbearable for me. Smells like a cat tire peeling out....burning rubber on a hot payment.

I prefer this one to milk orchid, I love the marshmallow, sweet caramel vibe. It’s a little thick because of the wood and i usually don’t enjoy wood because of it’s nauseating effect and the masculine effect but I would wear this, the wood if very kind. And even though I don’t like gourmand, it’s really comforting.

I don't know why, but on skin I smell spices (like gingerbread spices), burnt sugar and sweat. The sweat note is not offensive and it fades after a half hour, but it's more spicy and modern than I expected. I don't like super sweet smells and this isn't overbearing, but it's definitely sweeter, although not cloying. It's pretty unisex if you are into sugary spicy smells.

For the skeptics, gather here!👋 This review is for you. PS to tiktokers calm down when you rave about this. This is why I prefer Reddit reviews instead. They made it sound like they have found aliens essence, God sent from space. Context: I like feminine or at least feminine leaning fragrance. I also like sweet scents, I have no problem with these notes in fact I love them all, except mahogany, I wasn’t sure about. I just didn’t want the woods to be overpowering in this fragrance. So this has been sitting very long on my try list as blindbuy is my only option with the fragrance so I took time. The Review:- It’s a unisex perfume, not feminine leaning, it is definitely a perfume a man can wear, but softer than the masculine cologne they usually wear. I see this being a great “clean guy” everyday scent. I can definitely smell the milk right on top. Than you can clearly smell the woods in it, however it is not an overpowering/ overwhelming woods. You can smelled TOASTED marshmallows if you’re looking for it, but I highlighted toasted because it’s not the sweet pink marshmallow we are usually used to, it’s what marshmallow would smell like if it was on a male perfume. Having said all of that, it is a nice perfume generally speaking, tho not my ideal. However, it seems to be malleable to use/ layer, i just layered it with Phlur heavy cream & really liked the outcome, however I didn’t go heavy, so it balances sweetness while still being milky & creamy, more feminine. So far I gave it a like because phlur heavy cream turned out to be really nice with it, but it might change to “ok” we’ll see. Only saying “ok” because it’s not my cup of tea, however generally it is nice.

This is hands down one of the WORST fragrances that I have ever had the displeasure of smelling. I received this in a sampler gift set from Sephora and thank goodness it is only a sample-size bottle. I cannot imagine anyone liking this or thinking it smells good. It smells so synthetic and cheap, and unfortunately it has a lot in common with other modern fragrances that seem to be popular now.

Stole this from my girlfriend, big fan of the sweet milkiness. It reminds me of the smell of condensed milk, that sticky sweet dairy scent.
