Oof. I blind bought this and thought it would be a hit because I like every single scent note. Sadly this was not the scent for me. I did get a lot of compliments on it though!

This was the first niche fragrance I got. I love wearing it, it's super calming and comforting. When I first tried it out, it gave the impression of a spring perfume, because the orange blossom accord is strong. But the more I wear it, the more I see it as a winter/fall perfume. It starts sweet, calming, honey with a slight cinnamon and apricot, then the orange blossom blooms and it dominates the scent profile. It's super intimate, people can barely smell it on you. Interesting, but quite simple scent.

Wanted to like this one more than I did but it lacks oomph. It reminds me of Xmas potpourri or inoffensive bathroom spray from the 90s. No notes really stand out and it fades very quickly.

Homeopathic Christmas. On the one hand, ELDO's pseudo-intellectual marketing borders on fraud. On the other, they didn't promise anything. If you're expecting bright oranges, apricots, cinnamon, and champagne, they're not here. Or rather, they're there, but far, far away, in the next house. It's a mishmash of everything that comes to mind when thinking about "celebration," but it's VERY faded and subdued—a bit of white floral women's perfume, a bit of freshly shaved men, a bit of exposed necks, a bit of leftovers from the Christmas buffet, a bit of champagne, some fruit punch. A touch of modern minerality adds airiness and coolness. It's all so weak and subtle, practically just a skin scent. There is no talk of any sillage. So, if you're looking for brightness, you'll be sorely disappointed. Aside from the bloggers' tales, this is a pleasant, very light and basic perfume. It used to be a play on words, appealing to boobs and "basic instincts," but now they seem to have grown up and are pretending that none of this ever happened. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it was originally brighter. Now even the pyramid is different: Top notes: Bergamot essence Orpur®,Cinnamon, Peppercorn Heart notes: Rose essence Orpur®, Lilly of the Valley, Honey Base notes: Cedarwood, Vanilla, Musk

I like this a lot--predominantly honey and apricot and flowers--but I'm an American, so it evokes high summertime to me instead of Christmas. Maybe it will get spicier and cozier over time Edit: apparently it's supposed to smell like rich-people Christmas in France. If you want to smell Christmasy NOW, try layering this over Raghba Wood Intense and/or put Noel Au Balcon on your throat and one of the Khamrahs on the backs of your knees

BIGGEST disappointment recently. I expected sweet and warm notes - cinnamon and honey sounded promising. All I smell is white floral notes (which I'm not a fan of) with some sweetness and spiciness in the background. Smells nothing like Christmas:((((

Анонім★★★★★

Some honey with light spices and then dries down to a lovely soft and light floral base from the vanilla and patchouli. Really nice unisex scent and one of my favourites from ELDO

Анонім★★★★★

Feels nostalgic- reminds me of winters at home when my mom would have spiced cider simmering on the stove

Lots of the reviews complain that this should not be associated with Christmas. If you are looking for the cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, woody scents that are sold as Christmas scents in America, you will be disappointed. This is a representation of a European Christmas. I grew up in an area of Ohio where Italian patisseries were pretty common. This scent reminds me of being around those Italian baked good. Naturally sweet with honey, and slight whiffs of cinnamon. I'm fascinated with this perfume and how the different floral materials come together to duplicate the qualities of spices. The opening is floral and fruity and the dry down mellows out to a floral musk. For me, this is my Christmas scent and has been for the past two years. I'm a major fan.

Listen I loved this fragrance, but I do not Christmas/Noel from it at all! It feels more like being at a fancy high-end grocery store, walking between the flower aisle and the fresh fruits & produce aisle. Maybe my skin just amped the tangerine and pepper, but I got a wonderful savory all day scent. It might not be sweet, or reminiscent of holidays or winter, but I did like it very much for what it was.

It seems that I need to write when I'm disappointed... to get the feeling ot of me. I don't know what kind of Christmases do you people have... but this is not related in any way to how Christmas smells to me. I was expecting a sweet-spicy, cozy delight... and I've got a sour, piercing citrus frag, with a tiny bit of spice. Where, tell me, WHERE is the cinnamon??? WHERE is the sweetness? This thing is so light and luminous, that I would only wear it in spring... or in summer. It's so sour, that it makes you salivate (you know how you feel when you bite a lemon/sour orange or mandarine? That's what I'm talking about!) It has lasting power, though. So... for the first time, I've layered. I've put Cinnamon Bun (Demeter, The Library of Fragrance) on it. Now it's gorgeous... just how it should've smelled from the beginning. 😊

Is ot just me or doe so many ELDO frags smell like spicy water? This is actually kinda nice. The spice is Christmasy and gingery, but its like a spoon of ginger and anise thats floating in a glass of water. Its so hard to describe. It smells hollow. Im thinking I can layer it. It would be good as a skin scent for men in all honesty. Fresh out the shower, smells clean with a hint of spice. No projection but i see the appeal. Letting this one sit to see what happens

Smells like Amol, a Polish herbal topical tonic. My mum put few drops of it on a teaspoon of sugar. This is what it smells like exactly, to me. Bad memories of being forced to swallow it every time I was a bit ill. Ugh.

Between like and love. A fantastic floral honey scent with sweet apricots and a dash of caraway, pimento and cinnamon. Rounded by musk. Feels festive and reminds me of Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier.

Thou shall literally spray Noël au balcon, and the angels then say unto thee "Fear not, for ,behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people."

This is the smell of Christmas, but French ones. Imagine a Parisian apartment of a wealthy, childless couple in their 40s, in an elegant part of the French capital. Everything is clean, white with gold accessories. For the gala dinner on December 24, the invited friends were served oysters, foie gras, a cake called bûche de noël and of course, champagne. These are elegant dishes ordered from a nearby traiteur. It doesn't smell like cooking there. However, the lady of the house baked an apricot tart, following her grandmother's recipe. The recipe includes butter, bourbon vanilla and very ripe apricots from the south of France. There is also apricot jam. There are oven-gold almond flakes on top. The guests have already drank a lot of champagne, there is also some other white wine, so everyone is in a good mood and decided to go out to the balcony and get some air. To show off, the host took out some Havana cigars - I can feel a faint smell of tobacco leaves in the distance. The lady of the house offered the guests tea for digestion - a mixture of verbena and other herbs, with a generous spoonful of honey, candied tangerine peels and cinnamon. She had just been in the bedroom to reapply some musky perfume with a hint of orange blossom in the head notes, a gift from her partner. It's cold outside, but there's no frost or snow. On the balcony next door, a similar group is also celebrating the upcoming holidays in an equally good mood. This is what Noël au Balcon smells like.

It always surprises me how a fragrance can be received so differently by different people. To be absolutely clear, I love this fragrance! No doubts whatsoever, but on me I don't get honey - my opening forward is a perfect Christmas bright, spicy, sparkling orange scent. As it dries down, the strength of orange spice fades (but does not go) and the vanilla and florals start to peek through. Eventually it rounds out into a sublime, comforting cuddle of a scent. If you are a fan of Christmas spicy scents this one is definitely worth a sample!

I was so excited about it because i love ELDO perfumes and based on the reviews i was certain i will love it. The thing is, i hate honey notes and here we have a very prominent one. Anyway, i have a full 100 ml bottle if you are in the Netherlands and interested.

it smells like steam from mulled wine, it's all I can smell. Mulled wine served outside in fresh cold air

Perfectly sweet opening. Touch of honey sweetness. Not too much or to little. Fits the idea masterfully. Cinnamon comes in nicely with a lovely dry down.Certainly fits the name. A great winter fragrance. My second from ELDO. I would be ok with my wife wearing this.

I am undecided about this fragrance. The beginning I really like. It’s so joyful and uplifting. Somewhere in the middle it turns to a sweet funk on me that is not pleasant. Ending is softer.

This is bizarre but this perfume eventually smells pretty similar to Tea for Two by L’Artisan. The opening is more spicy and reminds me of a holiday candle, but if you give it a half hour to an hour or so it will dry down into a really smooth, sweeter tea for two without the soft smoke note. It’s a lot stronger than TfT. This was a nice surprise because TfT is a daily driver for me, but getting so hard to find and so very expensive and nothing can fully compare to that masterpiece. I’m still working through a nice sized decant of Noel so I’m not sure if I will need a full bottle yet, but if you like tea for two you may want to try this!

Unfortunately, to my nose, this smells like spicy, Incense iso-E super. It’s a pass for me.

I have just received mine, and I haven't had it on long, but as it opens, it smells the exact same as Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy to my nose. Curious to see how it develops, and I do really like the smell (I wore Viva La Juicy in high school), but I had higher expectations.

Noel au Balcon is the christmas perfume you thought you didn't need. It opens up with a very rich and photorealistic, thick honey accompanied by warm spicy cinnamon and sweet mandarin. It almost reminds me of the Glühwein I used to drink from street Vendors in Berlin. The first hours these notes are prominent, in the drydown you sense the warm cummin and soft vanilla that really ties this fragrance together. It's non-linear (like all ELDO's are imo) and very high quality. The well known Antoine Maisondieu made this a masterpiece! The only negative I have to say is that the longevity isn't great. At this pricepoint it should be. Unfortunately I only get around five hours. I haven't tried it on clothes yet though.

Fresh warm spicy opening. Neroli gives it a clean girl approach that contrasts to the boozy background, almost like a well-aged rum. Not too sweet, however, but some of the sweetness is provided by the oranges and white florals. Transforms quickly on my skin and starts showing my natural powdery scent really fast, which is disappointing as someone who is trying to find non-powdery scents. A pleasantly christmasy scent which lives up to its marketing, but also versatile for just about any comfy occasion, making it worthwhile to buy. Sits intimately as a white floral musk with the apricot note, which is timeless. Smells like the warm, conviviality of a Colombian Christmas Novena celebration, with wine, music, and the fireplace on.

Ok, this was probably my favorite out of my last batch of 20 something decants. This is being marketed as a Christmas scent, but it's very much unlike most other fragrances that people would recommend for the holidays. It is not heavy or boozy or thick with incense, pumpkin, sugar, or apples really- which comprises most other fragrances in this category. The first word that comes to mind is 'fresh.' It is fresh, then sweet- its most reminiscent of some nice dish soap that I can't put my finger on- maybe dial hand soap? But it's far more complex- you can actually smell clover! I don't think I've ever had a perfume smell like that. The honey and cinnamon are the supporting characters for this one, and it stands heads and shoulders over others I've tried today. It's the one I keep reaching for to 'reset' my olfactory senses. Basically, I think it's really special. Maybe the fourth or 5th ELDO I've tried, and my favorite by a long shot. It's finally something different and unique. Definitely should have been marketed as unisex- there's nothing here that screams 'feminine' honestly- as with many freshies. I'm ordering a spray decant- this is too nice to be ignored.

Ordered a sample of this after reading the hype despite it saying this is a woman’s fragrance. Didn’t read people calling it feminine or floral but very Christmas or apple spice. So had to try it. Received the sample and I honestly don’t smell Christmas at all or what most people smell on here but it is interesting almost like a baby powder burnt rubber with honey. The apricot was noticed but it goes away. As a guy I think I can wear it. This must smell nice in cold weather, and I’m gonna try it. I think this could be unisex and not just for women. For being Etat Libre, you would think they would have marketed it as unisex.
