I got this one straight after the release , because the OG is one of my favorite scents for fall-winter. On the paper i loved it. And still love it. On my neck and clothes though, not only it disappears twice faster than the original , Sport and Ambree versions, but also the first hour i get this unpleasant scent of bitter dark chocolate amd raw coffee that doesn't evolve as nicely as it seemed to on the paper back in the day. I'm going through a second 100ml original bottle, but this one after 2 years still has 3/4 left in it. Definitely not a blind buy but overall, still is a dark masculine scent for formal occassions on cooler days which will get you compliments. My preference in the line as i own all of them is Ambree>Original>Sport>Extreme
Very masculine and sexy scent. Ideal for nights out or formal gatherings...but not summer! On my skin I get excellent performance and on clothes ill get 10 hours plus.
this one is phenomenal. masculine, sexy, and sweet iced coffee accord. it's better than SWY intensely, or really any of the other designer gourmand fragrances.
Not sure why but coffee note here is a bit repulsive to me.
Extremely versatile outside of hot weather, it works in casual settings, in professional settings, on dates, etc etc. The projection drops off after a bit but it lasts a while as a skin scent and it’s still noticeable. 10/10
Dark, dense woodiness with elements of bright sweetness and purple/ violet type of florals. The florals become more prominent on warm skin. A complex, mysterious composition with some retro elements (florals) yet modern and elegant. French elegance 👔. Long lasting but moderate projection, sits close to skin which makes this scent suitable for both casual and formal occasions. I love it. One of my favs. Addictive. Sexy.
Powdery orris/iris. Mildly synthetic. I remain a little disappointed. Based on the notes I was hoping for something more similar to Givenchy Play Intense, which actually did smell of coffee.
٨/١٠ بسبب المشكلة التي ذكرتها - At first, I didn’t like this fragrance, but now I’ve deleted my initial review and changed my opinion If you’re expecting a clear coffee or mint scent, you won’t like it. The coffee here is just to add warmth, and the mint is only there to give a green effect, keep that in mind so you don’t get disappointed It’s a vanilla fragrance, but not very creamy, which is a good thing to me, It feels elegant, requires focus to notice its details, and is calm with almost no projection. Suitable for work and similar settings Its only real flaw is that it has almost no longevity or projection, or it might have them but causes nose blindness very easily, which is also a major issue. Either way, it has a fundamental flaw since I can’t smell it on myself or enjoy it Scent 8.6/10 Overall rating 6.8/10 due to that issue
Nice but is similar to 1 Million so smells like a flanker of that scent once it dries down (which takes literally 15 minutes). It’s more modern and smoother. Performance is absolutely DIRE. A couple of hours max. Within 30 minutes it smells like 1M smells after you have sprayed it 4 hours before. Shockingly weak in a shockingly quick timeframe. This is a COLOGNE strength scent posing as an EDP (Extreme). Unless you are happy to spray 4/5 spritzes every hour or two AVOID. Age 30+ Male. More cool weather night. 6.5/10.
Beautiful masculine sexy scent. A tobacco fragrance done right
A refined and polished version of Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo extreme. Redundant to have both. Givenchy yet is little bit fresher and more versatile with a higher quality and elegance due to the touch of iris. Beautiful fragrance for all seasons except peak summer.
This is like a Swiss army knife of popular fragrances. It has so much in common with quite a few other really good scents. Her white in black amber/vanilla which people say smells like Layton without the mint. Then the floral pop iris with a touch of violet like in V. Uomo which is similiar to so many other pop iris scents. For me the best association I get and the real highlight of this fragrance is the amber infused musk. Very similar to the amber infused musk in La Nuit de L'homme. It starts right away and lasts so much longer with way better projection. Peppery incense, sweet amber musk, powdery vanilla, earthy woods, with smooth florals and hints of peppermint throughout. It has a dark earthiness along with the cool sweetness and vanilla that is probably best described as an iced coffee. It's really quite aggressive the first hour or two and it either mellows some or I start getting some nose blindness. I can still smell it on my skin no problem throughout an 8-9 hour go. It's also quite aggressive with how hard it seems to be trying to be so much.
The house of Gevinchy has never disappointed me and I have five fragrances from the house. This one is another great fragrance that you can wear anyplace, anytime and your going to smell amazing. I'm very satisfied with how this fragrance performs on my skin and clothing because this fragrance lasts all day without being intrusive to others around you. My next Gevinchy fragrance will be the Gentlemen Sport flanker as soon as it hits discounters and that one is a nice fragrance as well.
I smelled this at ulta the other day and after wearing it for a full day, I’m genuinely considering making this my new signature, it’s really unique and interesting while still being mass appealing and really versatile , it smells pretty dark and mysterious in a really good way but it also has a little bit of freshness. I’m assuming from the mint that stays with it the whole time so I can actually wear this in summer the bulk of the scent that I’m getting to my nose at least is this really interesting unique dark chocolate smell that I’m assuming is coming from the mixture of the coffee and the vanilla, kind of like a really, really high-quality mocha espresso shot but it’s not that edible smelling it’s just cool, so imagine that with a kind of green freshness radiating from it it’s not a sweet toothpaste mint at all it smells really similar to like an actual mint leaf if you ever smelt that, either way, I would definitely recommend trying this one out, especially if you’re looking for a year-round daily signature that still makes you stand out, it also lasts very long it projected on my skin for about 7 hours and lingered as a skin sent for about 10, it doesn’t project the farthest, but not bad either I can actually see this as a plus if it’s something you’re gonna be using very frequently, it’s not gonna overwhelm anybody for being too strong, but it’s also strong enough to where you can actually smell it, people are definitely sleeping on this go try it out if you have a chance!
Givenchy in their peak! Amazing fragrance, iced coffee, iris, that sandalwood. Really creamy and beautiful fragrance. I prefer this slightly over OG Gentleman Society, it's a little more special, and it lasts a lot. One of the best designer fragrances ever made, by far. Scent: 10/10. Durability: 10/10. Projection: 9.7/10. Likeability: 10/10.
I am with funk // this reminds me distinctly of when I first started to LOVE good high quality coffee, naturally sweet, light-medium roast, no sugar or sweetener, they say it's an iced coffee infusion, which I totally agree with as well, unfortunately this beautiful coffee opening only lasts about 2 hours, then it dries down to about 85% similar to OG GS, I adored the Cardamom and Palo Santo notes of the original, this is a much more invigorating and perhaps more youthful take on the OG, I wouldn't say it is more or less mass appealing, I appreciate and look forward to what Givenchy is giving us, nobody is doing it like them, they were kind of trying to create a gap in the market that wasn't quite successful, seeing is they kind of returned to form with Ambree, which is by wide consensus, the best of this line, but I got a 200ml of this for under $100, and it has been my signature scent for the remaining winter months and into spring
I'm starting to really enjoy this one. I'm a coffee drinker, I drink it plain. This like many others this doesn't give me much coffee association if any. Powdery, peppery, woody, musky, lighty sweet, smooth florals, hints of fresh mint that lingers throughout. Decent performance, doesn't matter if you spray more because you I go nose blind after a few sprays no matter what. Best I've found is to do 3-4 sprays then wait a bit to do another 3-4 before going out. This has that gentleman dna mixed with her black in white vanilla amber dna. Starts off pretty peppery but that seems to settle a bit after a few days and the pepperyness mellows. Wasn't very impressed at first but by day three or 4 in a row of wearing only this I can admit that I must really enjoy it. It's my favorite Givenchy for now. I just want to keep wearing.
Givenchy gentleman society is one of the best fragrance in my collection as of now , it opens up quite fresh with the peppermint , it then turns to a more powdery scent with a woody background . The orris gives it a nice powderiness troughout the whole time we wear it , in the drydown I smell a "caramel" note , I think it comes from the coffee note with the vanilla . Longetivity wise i get around 8h on skin It projects quite closely , not a room filler (I use 3 spray) To sum it up , a really well blended fragrance with good longetivity and a nice inoffensive scent with it own twist I recommand buying ! (2nd review , tell me what I can improve )
I wore this to the gym. I got a compliment right away. He said, I don't know much about perfumes, but this one smells good, it's expensive, right? 😏
Very surprised with the positive reviews here. Not reminiscent of the note pyramid. Where are those naturals? Very cheap musky note dominates and spoils it all. This is an extremely synthetic woody fragrance. Sweet woody musks, probably ambroxan and iso e super and such. Do not blind buy.
Unique, but I don't get any coffee with this. Unexpected compliments up to 7 hours after spraying.
This one, Ambree and Boise are fire. Best designer fragrances on the market released in the past 4-5 years.
Love at first sight. The scent is interesting, likeable, definetely Givenchy is a very underrated brand. Price is great, very classy bottle, I might use it even in warm weather however, its clearly a cold weather scent. Imagine being with a sexy elegant lady sharing a nice whiskey during a cold night infront of a classy fireplace. The perfect occasion. Scent: 9.5/10 Cozy and one of my very favs Longevity: 9/10 pretty good Sillage: 7/10 Really wish to get more of it Overall: 8.7/10 very recommended One word to describe: UNDERRATED
Very nice release from Givenchy. Remove the booziness and nuttiness from reserve prive and add coffee and a bit of freshness, voila! I got a free sample and honestly thought it was very meh when I first tried it. Wore it a couple of months later then loved it and bought a full bottle.
Gentlemen Society Extreme is incredible! As an avid coffee/espresso drinker ive always unironically hated coffee/gourmand fragrances. However, this is fantastic, its tons of vanilla, coffee & woods on top of that floral base the Society DNA is known for. . . It's also very crisp, airy & fresh, which is a bizarre combination to describe something that's also woody & coffee. Its definitely a new age gourmand, while its not technical an "edible" gourmand, the coffee is very smooth, powerful & blends great with the other notes. I love how its very aromatic also, very unique DNA. Its a great cooler season fragrance & last long. I love the entire Society line & look forward to the new Sport version this spring, only negative is a terrible customer service in the U.S.A from Givenchy/lvmh owned brands.
it blends iris, coffee, and woods, but in the end the coffee takes over everything. It dries down to a spicy, bitter coffee scent with masculine vibes. It’s fine and wearable, but nothing particularly special or memorable. Also there's a light peppermint note that doesnt blend nice with the coffee imo 4/10
#59 of My Fragrance Journey - Givenchy Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum Extrême I’m standing there with this glossy black bottle in my hand, turning it over, thinking… do you actually want me? Or just the version of me that owns a decent coat and knows when to shut up. First spray? Yeah. It’s a confident yes. Sharp. Cold. Peppermint and clary sage slicing through the air like freshly pressed fabric. Very clean. Very put-together. That kind of modern masculinity that doesn’t try too hard but still checks its reflection. I catch myself thinking, okay… this is sleek. I can step into this mood. And then - something shifts. They talk about a “dark iced coffee” heart and I keep waiting for the romance of it, but on my skin it goes dry. Bitter. A little… rubbery? The iris and narcissus float in, elegant on paper, but here they don’t quite agree with that coffee note. It feels like two ideas sharing the same space without actually talking to each other. Is it edgy? Maybe. Or maybe it’s just uncomfortable. I keep sniffing, trying to get it. Half curious. Half ready to scrub. But I wait. Because patience matters. About an hour in, it exhales. The bitterness softens, backs off. Suddenly it’s cedar, sandalwood, a touch of vanilla absolute - warm, familiar, human. Like loosening a tie at the end of the night. This part I like. A lot. It sits close, builds a gentle heat, stays with me for a good 5–7 hours… though the projection drops into a whisper fairly early. And here’s the honest bit: for something calling itself “Extreme,” it plays it pretty safe. Well-made, polished, expensive-smelling - but rebellious? Not really. It takes a strange coffee detour, sure, but then it heads straight back to comfort. So yeah. A solid 7/10. A refined woody-aromatic with one awkward conversation in the middle. Best in colder weather. Best worn like a good suit. Impressive, controlled, slightly moody - but not life-changing. Sometimes that’s enough. Sometimes you want more. One of the best and most underrated designer fragrances of all time. Absolutely lovely. Thats one of the only designers that I think that are actually worth the money. Smells like coffee, woody and aromatic. I rate it a 9.25/10
Creamy coffee and iris blend in what strikes my nose as a lipstick-type scent. As a fragrance marketed towards men, I find it quite an interesting choice among the sea of designer options. After the initial blast of aromatics, it settles into a more white woods/powder/vanilla zone that doesn’t veer too gourmand for my tastes. Worth sampling, especially considering it’s currently on sale at Ulta…
Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum Extrême: The Designer Exception I usually stick to niche fragrances, but Gentleman Society actually convinced me to make a designer purchase for the first time in a few years. The fragrance is built on a very woody and powdery backbone. When you first spray it, there’s a burst of aromatic freshness, but the floral notes quickly join in. It’s a very clean fragrance, and I pick up on the iris more than the narcissus. I’ve seen many comments calling this fragrance "dark," and I find that pretty funny! To me, it’s anything but dark. Usually, in perfumery, woody notes like oud and patchouli create that "dark" vibe. Here, you have sandalwood and cedar, which are "lighter" or "whiter" woods. When you mix those with iris and narcissus, the result is clean and bright—definitely not dark. Style & Occasion: The Vibe: Mass-pleasing and safe, but with a sophisticated edge. The Outfit: It bridges the gap between casual and formal. However, it’s a bit too polished for shorts and a T-shirt; it needs something a little more put-together. I wanted an everyday fragrance that felt slightly elevated, and this hit the one i picked. Rating: 7.5/10 (A sophisticated, safe, and very wearable woody floral.)
