L’Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum

Unfortunately, I find the projection and longevity very poor. Even with 8+ sprays, this fades to a skin scent in under 30 minutes. The scent itself is nice, well crafted, and with a subtle cherry, although cinnamon comes through a little too much. Seriously though, I'm dissapointed in the performance and because of that, it's not one I reach for often at all.

Overrated and pretty forgettable imo, smells like basic designer fragrance with a little bit of cherry. Projection and longevity also mid. The whole homme ideal line is ahh ngl

Opening is clean, kind of boring and generic, soapy, a little powdery. Opening is probably being dominated by the bergamot, but everything else is stopping its 'citrus' character from shining through. Dry down is letting the herbal notes come through a bit. As it dries down a bit more, some sweetness, leather, and sandalwood are coming out. At this point, Eden smelled it and said she likes it. Eden also insists it is a "dark" fragrance, a style she tends to prefer on me. I like it a lot more now that it has dried down, but it is still not more than a "I like it a little bit". No where near an "I love it". I love cherry and almond aromas...I am not picking them up here at all, which is shocking given the list of notes...

A highly refined cherry Coca-Cola. Almond and a very subtle vanilla tie the whole thing together and contrast the Coke fizziness to smooth over any potential rough edges — though I can still imagine the fizziness being interpreted as leaning a touch sour for some. For me personally, it works to add depth to the realistic cherry note. Lasts decently long, about 9-10 hours on my skin with moderate projection for the first 4-5 and a more intimate bubble starting from the 6 hour mark. Scent: 8.5/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Sillage: 7/10

More than versatile, L'Homme Idéal EDP is an utter seasonal chameleon; I can't think of a fragrance in my collection whose personality shifts in varying temperatures more dramatically than this one. I enjoy pulling this one out for all months of the year. L'Homme Idéal EDP's leather and powder almond accords clearly lend it well to winter. But I think the bolder wear comes in the summertime, when the heat extends the livelier fruity and citrus accords that define this fragrance's truly memorable opening. Just go easy on the trigger.

i got more than 10 compliments with this fragrance, such a nice scent and have a good sillage and longetivity with such a cheap price.

very sweet, the cherry is so clear. sits close to the skin. makes me feel a bit sick in the summer but utterly beautiful in the winter.

9/10. Wow the blend here is beautifully done and so carefully rounded to create this warm cherry, vanilla, spicy warm scent. It doesn't get too sweet for me where it's overbearing or too situational. The base notes of sandalwood and leather incense bring it around. I'd surely love to wear this out, I didn't go over 9.0 because that means I need to buy it lol. My collection has casual/date night scents already. If it did not, I would definitely buy this. easy pick-up, great value

When I first bought this, I thought it was the greatest scent known to man. I loved it so much. Over time, I guess I’ve gotten noseblind to it because it just feels so weak on skin now. I’ve certainly gotten complements, literally people asking what it is, and if I can give them a sample. Good stuff but I think the performance is very lacking.

I smelled this in the store as a female. Jeezes, so delectable. Smelled like cherry, bit like marzipan/amaretto. Was tempted to buy it for myself. Very daring, dare I say, a bit feminine, more feminine and no patchoulicompared to La petite Robe Noire. I bought my bf l'Homme Ideal Platine prive, which is great for hot weather and had Chanel allure edition blanc vibes. love both to bits. Could eat my bf up almost. He isn't a freshie lover tough, and wasn't too impressed by this gourmand either unfortunately. :(

Bought it today, before that, tried it 3 days in a raw. This perfume will not take over the room definately but i love the way it leaves it's trail in the warm summer night. Not overpowering but gentle. Not projecting powerfully but gently. It is woody and eventhoe most ppl say it is a winter frag - i like it's scent in a warm summer night. I am a 47 year old guy and this frag is definately 30+ !! Love it!

A wonderful fragrance. Notes of leather and cherry wood. A very sweet, contemporary scent. It shares many similarities with Chanel’s Allure Homme. 10/10 – Every fragrance in the Romideal range is superb.

A masterpiece this is. I absolutely love this fragrance! I usually dislike leather fragrances, but this is a big exception to that rule. It's a beautiful scent; the cherry is not that cough-syrup type, the vanilla is not overpowering and overly gourmand and although the leather is very prominent, it's a brighter and uplifting one, very pleasant. I'd say it leans heavily towards more formal occasions, and although I think it's masculine in its own way (the type of masculinity that doesn't need to be flaunted and is confident to not be shaken by things others consider "feminine"), a woman could pull this off. The only downside to note is the opening. It's kind of a mess and screechy, but fortunately, that weirdness fades away after a minute or so.

Pros: clean, masculine, intimate, complex, long lasting. Cons: The complexity means notes might get lost on you the first few times with it, or you end up chasing a dragon. Low Projection. It does not seem to do well in the heat or day, so I would say cold nights only. Top: Immediately the almond and herbal top notes resolves to a powdery-clean note that I did like, but not what I was hoping for. Beyond that, the Bergamot and spices came through at the end of the top notes for me and were a nice transition to the middle. I would call it energizing. Middle: The cherry+vanilla does not read as sweet or cloying but dark and musky due to how it interacts with the incense note. It reminded me of TF's Cherry Smoke. The rose was surprisingly masculine, but didn't seem to stick around and got lost (to my nose) in the incense, vanilla, and cherry. Base: Tonka and Leather, sure. Maybe the idea of sandalwood. The tonka and leather seemed to hang very close to the skin and my partner said she felt very drawn in by it. Great date night fragrance by her take. TLDR: Great date night, starts off fresh, your date will want to get close to you and they will cozy up to you as the middle and base notes come through. Due to the price, I would have to say save it for special occasions only.

Kinda gives off DHI vibes even though there’s no Iris. They share a sweet-musk backbone, but this has a nice cherry note at the top and an amazing powdery-creamy vanillic tonka base. I feel like this is DHI’s quirky cousin. Theyre both undeniably rich-smelling and on equal levels of quality. Both are meant for identical occasions (quite formal and mature), although this smells much more unique. Performance is also more or less the same; about 5-6h with moderate projection. I give this a 7.5/10 Good, but ultimately outclassed by its cousin

I recently received this in a trade. Sadly, I'm very disappointed with the performance. I like the fragrance BUT, it sits VERY close to the skin with multiple sprays. I'm wondering if it is fake. Have others experienced this?

Perfectly unisex cherry almond fragrance. Lovely and much more appealing than most of cherry scents targeted for women exclusively. Whoever wears it, smells really good.

Sweet cherry vanilla fizzy fragrance. Perfect for colder weather. I think it can be too sweet for me at times which is why I don’t completely love it.

I like the top and mid notes. Very unique and blended smoothly. I already imagined myself using it however when it reached the far drydown it started to smell too woody and ambery for my liking. The top and mid notes I loved were nowhere to be found at that point and that alone changed my mind about this fragrance. But those opening and mid are to die for! I still think it’s worth the wear.

Today’s scent of the day: Guerlain L’Homme Idéal EDP My favorite thing about this fragrance is the almond, cherry, vanilla and the smokiness from the incense. I know there’s way more notes listed but those are the ones my nose picks up the most every time I wear it. A lot of people call this a winter or cold weather fragrance, but it’s supposed to be 74°F today here in Ohio and honestly it smells amazing in this weather. I get why people associate certain fragrances with seasons, but I’ve never really followed that mindset personally. I’m the type to wear Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue to a snowball fight 😂 Just like fragrance isn’t gendered, I don’t think fragrance has seasons either. Wear what you want and be yourself. You can find a 100ml bottle of this on discounter sites for under $90, grab it.

Very very good. Not in my top 10 by any means - probably in my top 25 though. Definitely can wear this confidently and know you will smell good. Doesn't get the same amount of compliments as some of my other fragrances, but when people have commented it has always been positive. I really do like it. Easy 8.5/10

It's like a generic masculine harsh scent with rotten cherry. I didn't like it. Last enough but doesn't project enough. And it's expensive.(

Nose Note #977 To my nose it's has bits and pieces from stuff like Dior Homme Intense, Spicebomb (to me it has a peculiar cherry note), maybe Red Tobacco (very distantly) and very slightly Pegasus. It has this designer feeling about it, what I mean is it smells like something and like nothing at the same time. It's hard to take apart and it feels a bit messy. There's something slightly dark about it, definitely something strangely metallic in the way that almonds smell. Something slightly cherry-like, but very vaguely. Maybe even something tobacco-like, but it's a perfume tobacco, nothing realistic. So altogether there's nothing realistic about it. Nothing to connect it to the real world. So yeah, it smells like a designer-esque something. I find it extremely hard to remember this scent. It's not bad at all, I just expected something else because L'Homme Ideal line is somewhat legendary. But it didn't leave any impression on me... Men only. Not the strongest perfume at all, just moderate performance. Similarly moderate sillage. 7.5/10, very pleasant, but overall a let down for me

I love this fragrance, out of the 15 Guerlain fragrances I have, I believe this is my favorite. Strong, confident, and assertive without being overwhelming. Beautiful cherry blast in the opening with a touch of almond and lavender that evolves to a beautiful rose with a sandalwood and a subtle leather in the base. I think the scent is blended well and may be a little sweet in the beginning but settles in the dry down. 10/10 for me, I greatly enjoy this fragrance.

Really nice almond-cherry vibe, like a boozy cherry cake with marzipan. Sweet, slightly rich, and pretty addictive if you’re into gourmand scents. Marketed for men, but honestly reads completely unisex to me. 7/10

if you like headaches and smelling like a 50 yesr old woman this is for you.

I decided to blind buy this, and let me tell you. Absolutely stunning! The first initial spray took a second to get used to buy after a minute when things settle oh my God! Everything is perfectly blended and sits really nice! My biggest concern that it would be over powering but that wasn't the case at all. The almond, cherry and vanilla are definitely there! I think this would make a good spring, fall fragrance with the acception of summer nights. I feel like in the heat it would be a little to sweet IMO.
