Oud for Greatness

Really a terrible oud fragrance that smells very synthetic and should be $50, not $250-400

I see that this fragrance is mostly reviewed as leaning masculine, but I find it completely unisex. Dense, rich and present. Two sprays on the body post shower, or walk throught the mist. Then wear the softest knit on a cold day and just enjoy. Hours later you may want to reapply and one spray may be enough. It's so good.

I can't believe its taken me this long to realize that this to my nose is literally Brompton Imortals from ex nihilo with a light western oud accord...I've had both bottles for the better part of two years & i just now pin pointed that.....Quality wise Brompton Imortals is a bit more upscale but if you ask me for the money id rather buy Oud for Greatness..Same profile with more projection..im not going to criticize longevity because they both last eternally but the price difference is crazy & for that reason if I had to choose again I would only go with oud for greatness

Let me Start off by making it clear i absolutely adore this scent, it is exactly the kind of scwnt profile that speaks to me, a masculine sophisticated deep oud fragrance. It lasts long, it projects, yet it does NOT induce headaches. 2 sprays will last AND project throughout a solid 7-8 hours minimum. You do not need to overspray. That being said my main and only issue with this fragrance is the fact that Supremacy in oud exists. Having worn both on my arms at the same time and tested them on 3 occassions (high heat, warm evening and night) i can tell you there is no difference in these fragrances that justifies the price gap. If you are a collector and or a niche fanatic i ubderstand wanting to own this still, and i probably will eventually get it myself, but it is absolutely unecessary and not wise. The scents are identical, the only time i could notice a difference was at night that the initio had a more spicy depth to it. But absolutely trivial and doesnt justify its price. Wonderful fragrance but made obsolete by an identical product for not even quarter of the price. Try it, try the supremacy in oud as well, and decide.

There's a TikTok trend of girls wanting to remember how a cheater smells; they go and smell YSL - Sauvage, for me, Initio - Oud for Gretaness is a reminder of how THAT bad boy smells :D So it's a bit nostalgic in a way it gives me the feels and memories :D Every girl has one in her life. :D I kind of thought OfG is a bit too much back in the day, but now, after a couple of years when the hype is a bit down and people moved on to other scents, I see this in a different light. I actually see this not as an Oud-dominant perfume but more of a patchouli-dominant scent; the oud note is there somewhere after the patchouli. It has this earthy aspect I did not sense before. I like the light sweetness that softens the scent. While being a very dense perfume, it is somehow does not feel 'weighting down' like so dense there's no illuminating feeling. Anyways, I find OfG could be quite elegant if you put 1-2 sprays and wear an Armani-type suit.

This reminded me of Belle Rose Ambre Trudi Bleu London. The sweet saffron note is a common factor. Not a fan of it. Positive thing is its performance which is good.

The opening is enigmatic to say the least, I couldn't really pick out anything. After an hour, slight, musky amberwood aromas develop, kinda fresh and woody. From then it just gets stronger and stronger. Notes of; salty metallic tonka, caramel, something fruity, lemon sherbert, Turkish delight, powdered rose, oud, ashes, amber, paper-like aromas, lemongrass and vanilla. Remains metallic above all. Performance is very loud except for the first half hour which is kinda elusive. Lasts on skin for days. Unisex, works in moderate climes, day or night, not for the office though. It's nice but not massively unique, reminded me of Arabians Tonka.

Oud for Greatness is a generic perfume. Its notes are blended well. On my skin, this perfume only lasted for 5 hours, and 8 hours on clothes. This perfume is not extraordinary for the excessive price. This perfume is not overpowering on me. The projection is not strong. It reminds me of Maison Alhambra Infini Oud for men or Lattafa Oud for Glory. I am glad I sampled it, but I will not buy a big bottle. There are excellent dupes available for a fraction of the price.

I'm curios who's the nose behind this masterpiece..

lovely, and i'll wear it, but the musk is a bit strong for me. not overpowering, but still a bit much.

Definitely not a year round fragrance like someone below stated, it is a dense and heavy woods aroma chemicals scent, for the cooler weather. I said "woods" because it contains no real oud, I'm sorry, for those who tried scents containing real oud, you should be able to see the difference between aroma chemical and real oud. That doesn't mean it's a bad or low quality fragrance.Good performance, both longevity and sillage. There's not reallu much to say, buy it only if you really love it because is not cheap.

Probably to this day the best Oud fragrance i have smelt. Rich, sophisticated, dark, but not heavy. Long lasting and projecting but not annoying in the slightest. Sexy and very unique. Top tier niche.

Had both this and Imperial by Gisada. As said in my review on Imperial, if you compare them directly you will probably smell alot of slight tweaks. Oud for greatness is darker and manlier. Imperial is sweeter and more aromatic, making it alot more cloying/nausiating. Which was exactly why I sold Imperial after a while. Dont blind buy this, I dont think its as controvertial as other reviews make it out to be, but its still a statement scent. A very well blended, warm, woody, manly, dark scent. For me, its a perfect fall scent. You can probably make it work whenever, especially as a night time scent, due to is having that manly/sexy allure. But I see it as cloying in warm weather, especially above 20 to 25C. All in all, this oud fragrance is greatness.

Love it, why does eveyone consider this a fall/winter fragrance? Im wearing it in june currently and getting a bunch of compliments, I think its phenomenal. 1 spray each wrist, 1 spray each elbow, and 2 on the neck, this is a true year round fragrance. Dont be afraid to wear this in the summer at all, its not your typical super loud oud, i think theres alot of BS ratings on this from people who dont actually own it and maybe have just sprayed a test strip and dont know the drydown. Ill check my batch number tonight, maybe I have a new one thats toned down or something. It smells gorgeous on my skin though, and ive been complimented 14 hours after putting it on. If you really want to show out layer it with Narcotic Delight, I do 1 spray on each forearm and 1 center of the neck, in between where I sprayed oud for greatness. Initio is your reading comments by chance a cherry oud for greatness will be a banger for sure.

This honestly smells like money in a bottle. All the cheap dupes of this fragrance make this a seem like a common fragrance but none really do it justice The smoothness and richnes this juice has is second to none This has made me fit in rooms I didn't belong in, 2 sprays and you own every room you step into

I own Lattafa's Oud for Glory and Initio's Oud for Greatness. Anybody saying they smell identical or near identical needs to learn that the opening of a fragrance is just an impression. A headline. It is NOT the full story. Both openings smell almost the same, I'll give it that. However, in the dry down (where things actually matter), lies Oud for Greatness' main identity, and it is absolutely beautiful, addicting even . Oud for Glory doesn't even come close to that feeling when it dries down.

Why do I smell fruits in this? Am I delusional?

I’d say this really lasts. Had some on wrist before the gym, was just testing a new bottle. And after a session, the sauna, and a cold plunge, AND a shower, I can still smell on wrist hours later at home The dry down really mellows down to a clean woody masculine scent. However that being said, side by side to the lataffa Oud for glory, it’s hard to justify the price point. The OG smells better in my opinion, it’s got a better sweetness and is more complex, with a better dry down. But for the first few hours I couldn’t tell a difference at all. And for like 5% of the price of a bottle of Initio I’d say save your money. That being said again, I love this scent and am happy to have the OG. That longevity on skin is mind blowing and the aroma feels more natural and refined

We could divide people into those who like oud and those who don't, but that's irrelevant to our topic. Because the scent is predominantly saffron and lavender, too heavy for me, it's a matter of preference, but it's far from me, closer to tougher men. Also, I have a few words for those who use flowery language about it: before praising, use "I think," "for me," etc.

It's okay. I'm not very experienced with oud and all that, but I think most people will not have a problem with this type of 'oud', if there actually is any oud in it. But on my skin this comes off as a bit screechy not gonna lie.

Picked this up a week ago and I've worn it a couple times now. The scent opens with a burst of saffron which almost smells a bit medicinal but that fades quickly. What remains after is a strong and masculine scent. It's very accessible for an oud fragrance and reminds me slightly of aventus in the dry down, maybe the musk? Good stuff tho I'll wear this lots. Side note: Some of these reviews make me think that some people haven't actually smelt this fragrance lmao.

I am not an experienced fragrance guy, but this is my favorite scent of all time for a very unusual reason. A while back, I had a dream where I encountered the angel of death. In that dream, this is very close to what he smelled like. Years later, my son got into fragrances, and we went to the mall to smell different colognes. When I came across this scent, I was genuinely stunned by how quickly it brought that dream back to mind. To me, this fragrance carries a strange feeling of mortality and awareness. It reminds me that life is short and should be lived consciously.

I like this fragrance but it’s not my favourite. It reminds me of walking into the campus stores. I’m not sure why but it smells exactly like that. It might be the saffron but other than that it’s an enjoyable and strong fragrance. It’s just not for me.

@aloha115 brother you can wear this any time of the year. Just use common sense with this during warmer weather. With this max 2 spritz not sprays and you’ll be good because yes it’s polarizing ! This was developed in the Middle East where it’s Hot most of the time. Don’t go by what people say what time of the year to wear this or that because not one day is promised so enjoy your frags. Wear what you want when you want just keep in mind moderation

After months of wanting this I got it today and for a good price This is the best oud frangrance out there hands down. The only problem I have is I now have to wait till autum till I can wear it. Great!!
