I still love smelling this on my wife in 2026. My all time favourite female frangance and probably always will be.. Timeless classic 👌

Oriental florals are quickly becoming one of my favorite perfume styles. This one is really beautiful - to my nose the mix of flowers and resins/animalics creates a nag champa effect even though incense isn’t listed as a note. I’m guessing I have a new formulation since I didn’t go to great lengths to buy this, so I’m hoping the somewhat lackluster performance is due to that. Or maybe I spray too much and make myself nose blind to it lol. Beautiful fragrance regardless.

For the femme fatale who wears stilettos, a full-length mink coat and nothing underneath.

This takes me back to when everyone was wearing joop, male and female versions in the early to mid 2000s. I loved it. Knock out performance.

Well-constructed animalic oriental incense and total bargain to boot. The incense is dominant in this perfume which is - to my nose, at least - superior in composition than many designer and niche offerings at more than ten times the cost. It's very well blended with enough complexity to be engaging and keep the olfactory receptors firing off quite satisfactorily. Now, the smell: At the top I definitely get a noticeable dose of coriander and citrus, rounded off beautifully by tonka, vanilla, and patchouli. As it develops, I get the impression of some leather and powder - a slight vintage makeup impression which gives the effect of orris, even though this isn't listed as an ingredient. It dries down to a satisfyingly furry animalic base. Its biggest weakness is its execution: it's very synthetic, and this can make it feel quite linear and lacking in richness. However, this is an impressive composition which would be absolutely superb with higher quality natural ingredients.

Delicious. This is absolutely gorgeous. One of the greats🩷🧡🌟✨ The Nag Champa is absolutely real in this one 🧡 (which is actually an olfactive construct of different notes and i don't think that it is intended 😅 - partly because it doesn't contain insence of any kind and partly because: Would it not be advertised that way? ) Golden, warm and Oriental.🌼🌟🪔 And most of all: pure good vibes nostalgia.

A somehow sluttier version of Obsession

I can not explain how stunning this is. This is the holy grail of drug store scents. Somehow it reminds me of Ciara, Charlie, Bijan, Tabu… all rolled into one. Poison and Red Door vibes as well. Inexplicably beautiful kitchen sink of notes that claw and fight and then embrace each other in the most passionate way. I bought a sealed box EDT bottle from the 90s and as soon as I sprayed it I was transported back to some gauzy, warm nostalgia of summertime in the California desert when I was little. I grew up around strong Jewish women who smoked cigarettes and loved incense, the occult, animals, and loud perfume - be it drug store or department store. It makes me think of being with my mom, my aunt, and grandma, sitting in polyester furniture living rooms with crystals hanging from the windows and the sun throwing prisms through cigarette and incense smoke as the Mojave wind whips through the house. Big mutt dogs barking and wrestling outside, cats slinking around inside. Listening to their uniquely sardonic Jewish way of telling stories and the way they all laughed loudly and were savagely intelligent women who always said exactly what was on their mind and always did exactly what they wanted to do. Joop is all of these things. And to think I avoided it for so long because I thought the name was silly…

Joop! Femme is a grown ass woman sexy scent for a vixen who knows what she wants and when she wants it. Juvenile cookie-scent lovers stay away! The florals are blasting power and the animalics and vanilla anchors it. The drydown is warmth in a bottle. Always LOVE. ❤️

I love the rosewood note here. It's like the one in Ciara. It gives a sense of depth and contrast with the florals and herbs.

Always has been and always will be one of the greats. Simply stunning

I adore Joop Femme. It’s a beautifully blended, balanced scent that I feel you can wear any day, anytime. People have described there being a honey note, I smell caramel with a background of white florals. There is just a hint of citrus which is delicate. The vanilla in the base is a prominent note for me but it’s not a pure vanilla- it’s way more complex making it sophisticated. I enjoy the smooth, slightly powder but also creamy texture it has. At the dry down some incense spices come to the foreground which I love. This is good! A great performer that lingers for hours. Would I buy this again? Absolutely!

My wife got this perfume gifted to her a while ago but hadn't used it until recently. She normally wears sweet, floral perfumes as it really fits her. One of her favorites is Mugler Alien (for reference). This one's NOT that. Not at all! It smells really spicy and musky. I can't put my finger on it but there's not a hint of sweetness in here. At least not that we noticed. I even dare to say I think the smell if more masculine then it is feminine. Maybe if you're into that it's a good perfume for you but for my wife (and me) this is the opposite of a sweet women perfume.

Oh I am transported back to my youth! I used to wear this when I was in my twenties and adored it. Bought it on Justmylook for under £14 for 100ml so very pleased. An utter throwback to when fragrances said something, were original - this has made me so happy to own again. The Orange Blossom is very delicate but I can smell its presence, this is not a patchouli beast either. As it wears down I get the smokiness and a very gentle musk. Its is a little "soapy & fresh" but its also quite original and unusual.

Анонім★★★★★

There’s an undercurrent, reminiscent of actual shit in this. It was off putting in the early 90s but its an absolute abomination now with all the synthetics trying to overpower the hidden stench of excrement.

I like this. A lot. There is an incredible note of incense in the opening that makes that ghastly aspartame sweet fake grape soda almost bearable. It lasts over two hours before disappearing without a trace. Otherwise, this is flawless. It reminds me somewhat of Jasmin et Cigarette from ALDO. The dry down is a cozy, woody, vanilla tonka goodness. Well worth 20 € I spent. Time will tell if I can get over fake grape soda bit. If not, I have a friend who's guilty pleasure is Gabriella Sabatini first perfume. I think she wears it in bed, or something, I never smelled it on her. One of my aunts wore it the summer I binge watched Miami Vice in all its '80 glory. Interestingly, Femme Joop! doesn't smell like kitsch, pink pants & espadrilles original Miami Vice, although it's just as memorable. Two days later...I'm enjoying it. Some people find this perfume loud and long lasting, I just find them both decent. I enjoy some complexity and this is really well done, cheapened or not. Personally, I found Le Bain underwhelming, but it has an absolutely delightful body care that is more than compatible with this.

I first bought this back in 1993 and I keep buying it again and again. 32 years later I still love it and I don't intend to stop buying it. No matter how many fragrances I got I still wear it and I enjoy it beyond words. ❤️

Mmmmmm! I love you Joop Femme! I love it when it goes on, because it makes me think of Amouage Memoir momentarily <3 It goes powdery incense on my skin, and it is a nice departure from gourmand, clean girl and aromachemical gag bombs. I wore this in the late 90's and it so lovely returning back it. It's pretty strong and lasts ages! I'm defying all western summer perfume rules and am wearing to during a heatwave in the UK. Sorry everyone! If you like incense, it's £20 well spent.

Cats Eye - thank you! I don't have or wear Kouros, but the others you have mentioned are all very much my thing, especially Ysatis, which Joop does actually resemble, though the balance of notes are different. This is a marvelous explanation - greatly appreciated! <3

Анонім★★★★★

I like Le Bain and All About Eve, but this just has a weird cleaning product smell about it. Very saccharine.

Анонім★★★★★

Joop Femme contains the famous Animalis 1745-3 base from Synarome, as does Youth Dew, Kouros, Bal A Versailles, Passion and Ysatis.

The civet and musk in this is STRONG. I personally love that but can see many people, especially those unfamiliar with vintage perfumery, being repulsed by this. This reminds me a bit of Imperial Leather soap but lacks anything sweet. This is very dry and lacks any sweetness. The coriander and aldehydes opening is piercing, and never fully disappears. The florals in this don't really stick out to me but add a necessary depth to it. At first I thought this fragrance was too much but after it settles it becomes gorgeous but unfortunately once it fully dries down It loses me. The full dry down of it isn't nuanced enough and reminds me way too much of a tanning lotion I use. For hours I don't smell any vanilla in this but then it suddenly slaps me in the face, which I don't enjoy! It's NOT a sweet vanilla which is definitely interesting. On paper I should love this but it lacks that little bit of sweetness that I need. This smells a lot more like a 70s fragrance than an 80s fragrance.

Анонім★★★★★

Vintage gem with excellent pricing.

Анонім★★★★★

When you first apply it, it has that vintage vibe, dusty and musty. I’m not sure why, the aldehydes, oak moss or maybe the coriander? But give it some time and it shines. Fruity, floral incense with a musky addictive dry down. It’s a familiar smell, though somewhat loud. I get a Charlie Red vibe or is it Lou Lou or Red Door? That’s what the fruity notes remind me of. It definitely evokes the color red. I definitely can’t pull this off on the daily, but when I’m in the mood, it’s a good one.

Анонім★★★★★

LOVE LOVE LOVE I've had it on for a few hours and I'm enveloped in soft silky clean vanilla woods with sensual civet undertones. I think this would be more popular if it wasn't an old inexpensive release.

Ok this fragrance is absolutely stunningly amazing, It smells so much like my absolute favorite incense ever, which is Sri Sai flora red. It lasts, it has strong sillage, Absolutely 10/10 recommend

I’m a self confessed vintage lover. Anything from the 80’s and before usually has my full attention. Having been around in the 90’s and early 00’s as a teen gives me the memories and the fun I had. But in retrospect, today, I much prefer the eras before the Calone wave that inundated the world, circa the first half of 1990 boogie. Joop, which is officially from 1987, feels decidedly 1997! But I mean that in a good way! Heavy, padded and coiffed to the 9s it should feel 80’s. But instead, it takes me back to the 90’s, and perfumes like this, Boucheron, D&G Red Cap, Sicily, Addict, Dolce Vita, Rush, Hypnotic Poison, Jungle, Dune…these are some major loves that remind me of my carefree teen years and the fun of the past. Joop is a heavily heavy ambery orange blossom, studded with vanilla and tonka shades amidst warm spicy tones. Its shades of orange/red/brown warm me up like mulled wine. Some perfumes work like specific time machines; I’ve always felt Poeme (it shares a similar albeit gentler olfactive resonance) and Tresor are 8 year old me standing in front of the Lancôme counter. Joop transports me to Christmas shopping. It was so different! It actually felt special! A warm ambiance, Xmas music playing, warming smells anywhere you went, be it chestnuts in street carts, cinnamon potpouri in stores… Joop is a winter scent for me. Underneath the heavy velvet drapes that hide a very vanillic ambery coziness, where orange blossom is so heavy and heady that sometimes feels artificial, where carnation, coriander, sandalwood give it character, all the while gentle aldehydes lift it up…it becomes a comfort scent. One that feels like home and at the same time it cuts through the cold like a hot knife through butter. A sweet oriental or a spicy floriental? It’s perfume with a big fat P. Perfume with presence. Perfume with power. And in the vintage Lancaster bottles, of which I own two, there’s a big fat Sillage and a big fat Longevity. This is the middle finger to Calone; from Germany with love!

Анонім★★★★★

I'm sorry but Joop does not smell like poop. That's ridiculous. It's an Oriental with musk and civet notes that add richness. It's like a modern Shalimar.

Анонім★★★★★

So beautiful. Honestly if you put this in an Amouage bottle, I’d believe it. Crazy value for this one. Femme but slightly unisex. I recommend men try this one out.
