Maahir Black Edition

I am a bit disappointed in this one. It's very sweet in my opinion, and doesn't smell very interesting. It reminds me of Christmas time actually, like walking in the snow at night through the woods. I don't find this as offensive as people say either, I wish it was! It's not as mature to me either because of the sweetness. The sweetness kills it for me 😢

Smells exactly like an ashtray. That is not an entirely bad thing, but that is definitely the scent of this. Strong performance but the smell is still just an ashtray.

It smells EXACTLY like a burning Raid mosquito repellent spiral.

I liked this on first wiff, then on the second wiff i get a smoky bbq sauce. Smells nothing like Terroni so please do not buy thinking it will. If i smelt it blindly, i wouldnt even think its attempting to clone Terroni. If anyone from the UK wants to buy it, drop me a message!

If you're wanting to get into the darker, masculine oud fragrances, this is a great pocket-friendly starter. I found this for just over $20 and it opened me up to a whole new world of smells. Something about that smoky, bonfire scent is addicting and has its own lure to it. I'd classify it as a "date-night" scent, since it is potent, but just a couple sprays work well for daily wear. The woodiness hits the most and the leather sits just below it. Maahir Black has outstanding performance. 12 hours on skin consistently at this price range is a godsent. If you spray excessively, the projection might make the company around you wonder if the building is on fire, it can be really strong. I've had this fragrance for about a year and it has only gotten better as it macerated. It punches you hard on the opening, but like I stated previously, the dry down is addicting. Longevity: 9/10 - Projection 8/10 - Overall: 8.5/10

Unboxing....Initially, strong and sappy crushed fir/ juniper foliage---green, oily, balsamic--slightly smokey, sweet & herbaceous---not getting much else, note-wise. For $22, it is not bad at all---nothing mind blowing or beastly, yet calming & energizing for sure. Indeed, nobody else is wearing this DNA. I can't wait to use this, in the Winter---it will be nice for the holidays. This will layer nicely with; the rosey, woody, Moschino-Toy Boy. ------------------------ Google: Cade Oil (Juniper Tar): Made by destructively distilling the wood and branches of the Prickly Juniper (Juniperus oxycedrus). It smells intensely smoky, leathery, and tar-like—similar to a campfire. It is primarily used to treat scalp/skin issues like eczema and dandruff, or as a base note in masculine perfumes.

Smells like smokey barbecue sauce. Sweet, tangy , smokey.

Smokey, earthy, apparently strong and the longevity is very impressive. It is a niche scent, so do not expect to smell soapy (or vanillic) . It is very raw purely masculine fragrance. I believe that is wearable the whole year, not only autumn/winter.

Its okey. Like the dark smoke in it. 8/10

Sweet fragrance for males.

I love it! Dark, earthy, smoky, mysterious, uncommon. Just a right amount of sweetness. I had a sample of Emir "A Walk on Dirt" before and really liked it, but this is similar and even better for my nose (Emir was turning too sweet on mid and drydown).

Honestly as someone who's been living in the middle east, this fragrance is exactly something you would expect to smell when you enter a mosque, but this would definitely would NOT be a safe blind buy for everyone, The packaging and the bottle design is absolutely beautiful, very well presented by lattafa. Very worth the price

my boyfriend blind bought this and we BOTH couldn't stand the smell. To me it smells like the plastic cup you use in a hangout in which you put water to put off cigarretes when you dont have an ashtray.

Just bought a bottle a few minutes ago without knowing anything about it besides the cool bottle, I absolutely love it, it’s dark, it’s bold and it’s undeniably a sexy fragrance that would tell everyone that you’re the boss. It definitely won’t be for everybody (like most leather fragrances, especially the ones that lean towards a more niche level scent) so I would recommend you try it before buying but even if you choose to blind buy it like I did, it’s not expensive, I got mine for about $40 so that’s great value since the perfume smells niche and the bottle/cap could have easily been under another brand and sold for $200 or over. I will let it mature for a few months to see how much it changes and how more interesting it gets.

Couple things to note here: 1) This does NOT smell like smoke or a campfire, at all. 2) This does NOT smell like something a villain would wear. 3) This is not necessarily a masculine fragrance. I gave it a good few hours, but man... This fragrance is sweet. Although the sweetness does die down after many hours. The best way to describe it is a sweet incense, something you might smell in a middle eastern alley. I think this could do very well for some middle aged women. The smell is growing on me but it's definitely not for everyone.

If you like dunhill icon absolute you’ll love this one. One of the best masculine fragrances out there imo

this smells nothing like terroni. maybe at most you may say it was inspired by that dna but it smells nothing like it. the only semilarities is that they both smell like burning wood but in two completely different way with different notes and undertones this is woody oud leather thats sweet tiny bit spicy and bit green earthy. it is beautiful and unique. highly recommend trying it im sure many will love it

All I can imagine is that, this smells like a mafia, a gangster, or a villain would wear. Very dark, smokey, misterious. NOT a mass appealing scent. I only use this when I want to psychologically confront someone I don't like. It works every time. They legit are afraid of me. The SPL is VERY STRONG. Be easy on the trigger. I actually hated this at first, but after maceration it became better but still has the dark DNA. The dry down is not bad though. Will I wear it daily or often? Hell no. Do I like it? Yes only when it's at a right time and place, which I'm not really sure when and where. How should I rate this? I'm also not sure! For the first time I can't rate a fragrance. So it's ?/10

A budget friendly dark scent with plenty of bang for the buck. Emphasis on the bang. A little bit goes a long long way. 2 sprays alone are enough to completely fumigate a small room. Will use this as my signature. I'd argue it's an affordable option/gateway into the darker fragrances, but far from beginner safe... You like bold, dark smokey incense leather fragrances that challenges and rebells? THIS is for you. You want something loud, prolific, that owns the room? THIS is for you. You want that mysterious edge that is a seducer? Look elsewhere.

to put it simply: this smells like PURE A**. Don’t buy this unless you are into those mysterious, standout, unique scents. To me this is an absolutely rancid smell.

So far without any maceration, I’ll say maahir black is good. Not very synthetic in the opening which I like. At first glance it’s very sweet. Then you get hit with incense. Not very woody or leathery in my opinion. There’s pepper and saffron also. The sweetness it has could be what people smell as tire or rubbery. It’s very reminiscent of older fragrances maybe 90s or early 2000s. Almost like what an old person would wear it has those notes. Not a very modern fragrance in my opinion. I haven’t smelled terroni which this is an inspire by, but now I’m curious what that smells like. Usually if the dupe is good, I don’t even mind with the original but in this case the original must be better. I will be wearing this as I’m very into woody, smoky and amber fragrances. It’s just this one is not what I expected. It’s not “beast mode” and doesn’t do anything new. Not blind buy safe, not because it’s bad but because it’s not what you would expect from the notes break down. (I’ll update in a couple weeks sometimes these scents change a bit) I layered maahir black with John varvatos and let me tell you. It’s AMAZING! It gives this fragrance the leather and wood it needs. Definitely give it a go with one of your more masculine fragrances I’m sure it will layer really good! (Maceration period week 1 and it’s coming along. The leather is more pronounced with really nice wood accords. It’s not coming out too sweet anymore. It’s gotten much better.

Just smoke low quality cig, there's no need for this. You can find good parts yah but no need for this, just use something else. To me, it's unnecessary fragrance. The only boozy fragrance i don't like. It's smells %10 sweet, %60 smoky, %30 bozziness.

Left a review on this months ago and just came back to see now that my nose has matured a bit more. It is still not very good. It doesn't make me queasy like before, but it also cannot be described as a pleasant scent. It opens as a very spicy (masuculine if you want to call it that) leathery fragrance, which is a bit harsh, but dries down into something smoother, which usually is good, but not here. On the dry down it smells like a**, and I mean like cheeks spread apart a** not just bad. You can wear this if you want to stand out or smell "villanous", but to everyone else with working noses, you'll just smell like spicy gasoline or literally booty to some.

Soooo this was awful initially. I had it on my sell shelf and forgot about it, so I actually wasn’t expecting to even write a review. After sitting for a year, it’s a completely different fragrance. 1st test - has the smokiness of Wood on Fire - maybe slightly less harsh. Ashy strong, literal burning wood initially. Also made me think of Valentino Oud Assoluto. Retested after a year - dusty wood floor library - pages of books, and worn in leather chairs, to start. It sweetens a tiny bit as it sits. “Aged leather, smoke, incense”. I also get Balsam, which is divine.

Would anyone say Mahir Black is a stronger Boss Bottled Absolu? I tested Bottled Absolu today and it immediately reminded me of Mahir Black.

These reviews don't do justice to how terrible it is. Let's start off by what it is not, since you can get a very wrong idea from reading the reviews: 1) It's not masculine unless you consider masculine a byword for ugly 2) It's not a barbecue smell 3) It's not bonfire (if this is what your bonfires smell like, then your local environmental agency has their work cut out) The smell is BURNING PLASTIC, or alternatively, a heap of cheap plastic stored in a damp warehouse for years. It's a profoundly unpleasant smell, and believe me, it is pungent. A simple squirt is enough for nausea and a headache. If you want to smell bad, but masculine, then rubbing yourself in manure would be much 10 times better. You'd smell natural and like a hard worker instead of a slave laborer from a distant dystopic future where people burn plastic to stay warm.

Did I get a crummy bottle? Have they diluted this? I really like the scent, and I get all the notes: cade, leather, rhubarb... but it fades super fast. Like it's dried down in an hour to a skin scent. A very delicious benzoin, incense skin scent, but very close none the less. They're different from each other, but the performance reminds me of Encre Noir. I'd be very curious to try Orto Parisi Terroni to see if I can get something similar that is bigger and durable: not dupe pricing, but Megamare was very affordable for the quality. Got Terroni. This is in fact a decent dupe, but the real deal lasts for days and this lasts for hours. Not sure why anyone has room to complain about this scent. It's just a really cozy benzoin.
