30 ml for 120 Euro...its not bad but not that unique either. A cooler metallic-aquatic slightly salty combination with aftershave. Blue-grey-green. Saffron, black pepper, chili pepper, patchouli, violet, yes everything can be found and it is nicely blended. Nothing stands out anywhere, it does not sting, it does not scratch, it is so gentlemanly but really interchangeable with better aftershave, the hospital-headmaster walks down the corridor in a white coat in early morning...
My first introduction to Marc Antoine Barrois was through encelade, soon after which I ordered myself a sampler, and immediately ended up falling in love with b683. It opens up with an immense spiciness/ pepperiness, soon drying down to a musky Woody ambery scent, it is perhaps one of the most unique fragrances I own, and while not exactly as "niche" as some would hope, I definitely wouldn't expect to find anybody else wearing this on the street. Truly a unique scent
Ganymede bad copy. Most boring scent ever. No sense for this price
Most men's fragrances fall into a category that I call "standard," which equals many of the men's designer options found in your local Sephora, which I have never found interesting or original enough to wear. B683 must be filed into this category, while being a "very good" version. For Average Joes, it is a winner. Good for office, good for dates, good for anything. Inoffensive. Better than no fragrance. If an A.I. made a scent based on human average preferences, it could be this one -- differentiated 3% with the subtle red chili pepper note. 8/10 but with insufficient provocation.
The person who said this is teuberose astral either has an olfactive problem or simply has not gotten their nose on tuberose astral...this is a dry classic fragrance where the saffron, chilli pepper & violet leaf are prominent...As where Tuberose Astral is predominantly Tuberose & cinnamon...I have both bottles & i wrote this review with a scent strip of each in hand...Quentin Bisch has a few fragrances that have some similarities but never a 1 to 1...we can leave those types of things to Christian Provenzano
Basically smelt like ganymede but not that good.
This is Tuberese Astrale. I can’t believe no one has mentioned that. It’s so so similar
Nose Note #1013 Like a sister fragrance to Ganymede. A little less niche and more crowd-pleasing warm spicy and mineralic scent. Beautiful. I like it more than Ganymede. Unfortunately, it's significantly less potent. If Bois Imperial is like a cheap smelling Ganymede, this one is just a "better" smelling Ganymede. I guess that pretty much sums it up. I really like it. 8.4/10, much less agressive and more like a perfume than a niche "smell"
3.5/10 Realistic cinnamon with some spice. It gets better as it dries down but I still don't know why you would want to smell like this.
A perfume whose scent I like, but in my opinion the fragrance doesn’t last very long when compared to the Extrait version of the same perfume. I also believe the price is not justified.
I know it says for men but women can absolutely pull this off. It feels like Ganymede's louder, more festive cousin but it's also more mainstream and less unique
Very loud, synthetic and boring. Ganymede is much more sophisticated and interesting. But sometimes, especially late autumn months it shines Asteroid on steroids
Am I the only one getting Amouage-Decision vibes from this? B683 is undeniably intense, sharp, and unapologetically loud right from the first spray. However, contrary to the mainstream marketing that labels this as an ultra-masculine leather scent, the heavy dose of saffron paired with that powdery violet pushes this straight into feminine territory for me. It completely flips the expected leather-wood narrative. It vividly reminds me of my grandmother—her elegant vintage perfumes, her warmth, and her sophisticated aura. It’s a gorgeous, high-quality juice that creates wonderful mental imagery, but it feels more like a nostalgic hug from a chic grandma than a contemporary masculine scent. Definitely test before you buy!
After Ganymede it is my favourite
spicy but still with some freshness. Not to heavy, not to sweet. Clean and airy with an amazing woody base. I think that the ozonic and metallic vibes help the fragrance staying so clean, fresh and light. Really good longevity as with all MAB fragrances. Perfect for the office and can be both casual and dressed up.
Great signature scent. Smells spicy but with a fresh ozonic edge from the violet leaf, then it dries to musky leathery sexiness. Modern and masculine.
Fantastic. Extremely good sillage. (Ganymede but the coldness is replaced with more leather)
Mid. Extremely weak sillage.
Ok it smells like leather to me, but really in a futuristic way, like leather from 2035. Certainly not for warm days, but has a fresh vibe. Fresh leather if i can put it like that. I anjoy it even though I avoid leatherish perfumes The chilly is a funny note, if you had a spicy margarita at some point imagine the taste of that red chilly inside. I personally love spicy margaritas. 8/10
a great, sophisticated blend of ganymede and encelade. A super blendable niche fragrance that can be worn anytime. A great Barrois base scent.
it’s a statement. Imagine the scent of an old library, but one where the finest cognac is served while you lounge in a brand-new leather armchair. On the first spray, the sharp saffron and black pepper wake up your senses, but then that incredible, smooth leather takes over, blending seamlessly with woody notes. It’s not loud, yet its presence is undeniable. It carries this "Interstellar" vibe futuristic, yet warm and familiar. When I wear it, I feel like I’m carrying a secret weapon; people don’t just ask what you’re wearing, they look at you with a new level of respect. This is a scent for someone who doesn’t need to shout to be heard. Pure magic in a bottle.
I went through 70% of this bottle, mostly wearing it at work. But towards the end I couldn’t stand it anymore and gave it to a friend. Ever since I came across better-constructed fragrances, this felt empty, like it doesn’t have body/structure. One second is there, then it’s gone.
I really wanted a fragrance with black pepper as a top note, but unfortunately, this one was too masculine for me. At first, I smelled a night out in Trieste with my husband, strolling through the streets and having a glass of wine. I wore it a few times, but I realized it smelled to me as if I had been cuddling with a man, so like the scent of someone else not me. So I passed it on to my husband. He likes it, wears it, and it works well for him.
We could describe it as a more mature, spicy, and gentlemanly version of Ganymede. Unfortunately, longevity and sillage are only average.
Lovely scent but terrible performance. Lasts 2-3 hours
It's nicer than Ganymede. I do genuinely think that. It is a hugely masculine fragrance from high end Parisian house Marc-Antoine Barrois that just sings to me. It is woody and leathery from the outset but the nutmeg, black pepper and chilli add spice and a lot of interest. The drydown reminds me a bit of AdP Colonia Intensa at the end but this is a finer and more subtle finish that really benefits from the leathery, suede-y noted that the AdP doesnt really have. I always thought the latter was a bit musty and antique-y in the drydown, I felt the minerality in it wasn't enjoyable and I never really got on with it as a result but this, despite being similar, is a more accessible and balanced frag that walks the line a lot better. It is "old money" if that makes sense and I feel like there is more going on here than with Ganymede (which I also love). It is more "me". Quentin Bisch is the master perfumer nose behind this one and you have to just admire how well judged and balanced it is. Leathery, woody, spicy frags are a bit of a minefield as even a slight mis-step in the balance can throw things off but this is just superbly done. The suede in the drydown is something I have a real weakness for. It is woody, spicy, slightly minerally suede and not animalistic. Pure class. This is one of the most sophisticated fine fragrances I own and such a smell isnt and could never really be a daily wearer, but it is perhaps surprisingly accessible for such a heavy and woody masculine punch. It would be a superior office wearer; anything even vaguely formal and you'd rock this. It is little shock that this is a powerful juice and you don't need to overspray this. Two on the chest and one on each inner elbow. Performance is a little underwhelming and once it calms down you can get a good four or five hours from this. I particularly like the way that it sits close to the skin after four or five hours and you can go to bed in the evening with it still there but subtly, in a really sexy way. It should go without saying, this would be a formidable date night frag. Scent - 10/10 Sillage - 8/10 Drydown - 8/10 Packaging / bottle - 7/10 Performance - 5/10 40/50
- its start off Very similar to Ganymede but instead of being so warm, spicy, metallic and intense this takes a more subtle approach with a soapy, mossy, violet clean feel which makes it a little lighter but still kinda get Ganymede vibes. Later on down the line I’m getting a great floral note that suddenly appears too add to these notes. The performance is a little weaker than Ganymede but performs nicely.
B683 – A Quiet Storm in a Bottle It enters the room not with fanfare, but with purpose. A gentleman, dusted in spice and starlight, carrying the memory of leather chairs and long-forgotten laughter. B683 does not shout. It hums—a baritone of woods, warm amber, and smoke that clings to the soul. It reminds me of nights when confidence was currency, and time lingered long enough for love to find its breath. There is gravity here—serious, deliberate, yet tender as a hand on silk. I wear it not to be noticed, but to remember that I am— a whole universe, steady and fragrant with quiet power.
I really love this fragrance, and it would be my signature if it wasn't for the performance. For a while I suspected I was going nose blind to it, and that still may be part of the issue because there are certainly plenty of aroma chemicals. But the other day I was asking my girlfriend what fragrance I should wear and she smelled a few, and when she smelled b683 she said "oh my gosh I love that. How come you haven't worn it before?" And I've probably worn it in front of her dozens of times. I am wearing it right now, I heavily sprayed it on both my clothes and skin an hour ago, and I can't smell it at all unless I put my nose right up to my shirt. I got it from a legit source, and it smells amazing, but be prepared to carry a decant and reapply it.
Does this not just smell like straight up BO to anyone else???
