This layered over Falcon Leather EDP is amazing try it. Lasts forever
To quote previous reviewer, "Ambroxan, ambroxan...ambroxan." Yuck...headache in a bottle.
Ambroxan, Ambroxan and did I already told you that i smell Ambroxan?
Nice, but too straightforward for my taste. Has an amber-woody background though that rubs on you and just won't go away
Smells like generic baby powder to me, especially on my skin.
One of the best Sandalwood and irish combination ,smooth, luxurious, elegant and smell rich perfectly balanced and unisex, another excellent fragrance from the house which is less talked and less ratings which i think should b close to 5 star worth every cent i spend on 5/5 from me.
I first tried this a year ago― on first whiff, I got baby powder or Nordstrom, but not in a bad way. I was curious how it would dry down, and found it smelled good on my skin, if not a little bit bright or overly feminine for my vibe. I tried it again yesterday, and this is truly a gorgeous sandalwood. It is the opposite of green or fresh, in the way Tam Dao and Santal 33 are, and instead is a classic warm/dry/creamy/buttery sandalwood (which is the kind I much prefer). It feels like a crowd-pleaser, I don't know how someone could dislike this. As it sat on my skin, it grew a tiny bit soapy (which I don't like) and also became so warm that it almost read as gourmand-adjacent? I tried to imagine a setting where I'd wear this, and ultimately decided it's a little too traditional, lacking evolution or tension or journey which is what makes a good fragrance great, to me. I'm intrigued about how this might layer with other fragrances...
beautiful, smooth and silky sandalwood. the dry down is so elegant and luxurious. however, on initial spray it smells a bit too masculine for me
On my skin the sandalwood is just right. Not too loud. A very nice long lasting fragrance which I sometimes layer over Encens Suave body wash and lotion for a deeper woodier experience.
Genuinely so confused at these reviews...maybe this lies on the skin so differently on people that you either love or hate it. On my skin and even straight out of the bottle, it's warm, smooth, creamy and pretty much retains that sweet sandalwood smell throughout day. Yes, it fades over the hours, and it's not a complex smell - that's most likely replicated across the board, but I think this one is just so beautiful and not masculine at all on me
To be honest I thought the people saying this smells like baby powder were just being dramatic...nope. They were right. I am sorry for doubting you. This does not smell like Tam Dao to me at all. Tam Dao is much more wood-forward and Santal Austral is more powdery up front. I imagine this might be nicer in cold weather but as I don't get any of that where I am it's a pass.
The opening feels distinctly woody. If I had not read the name, I would never have guessed that sandalwood was meant to be the central note. To me, the sandalwood only truly appears later in the heart of the composition. At first, the fragrance reminds me of dry countryside hay scorched by the hot sun. There is something very natural about it — dusty, rustic and slightly pastoral in atmosphere. At the same time, I can also detect nuances of tonka bean alongside the oud, adding warmth, depth and a subtle smoky sweetness to the composition.
I only get some sort of faint boring wood
This is very nice, I was expecting the notes to have something anisic or lavender or artemisia. Reminds me of Santal Volcanic with a La Nuit de L’Homme or The One vibe. The iris is very faint. More masculine definitely.
Blend of sandalwood and iris not very strong or projecting just ok
Beautiful opening followed by a terrible dry down
Screechy bomb of lactic Santal.. strangely gourmand. The performance here is practically atomic.
Learn to describe scents without comparing them to others. It is nothing like Gris Charnel, it is very nice but the benzoin may slightly throw you off. Overall it's enjoyable and long lasting.
Gris charnel, without the fig. God this dna is everywhere… but its good.
Sorry, but this perfume reminds me of a hamster cage. Sandalwood can sometimes produce that kind of animalic scent, and that’s what’s happening here as well.
“Sandalwood” here is a euphemism for cheap, synthetic woody aroma-chemical. It’s generic, loud and void of character. Unfortunately, it has great sillage and last forever on skin. I can’t believe they made an extrait.
I've smelled this scent profile so many times from so many brands it's boring. Give me Samsara any day. Now that was a sandalwood fragrance. The dry down of this is pure amber woods aroma chemicals. I think some of the reviewers are right. Bate and switch. The best fragrance from this brand is Radical Rose. Everyone knows real sandalwood is super expensive and a lot of co will mix it with amber woods and hope the customer can't tell the difference. Also strangely sweet. Atomically so, change my ok to a dislike or even hate. So so sick of this DNA. It's everywhere. Gag!
I know, taste is subjective, but the people writing reviews about this, have they actually smelled it, worn it on skin? This is an extremely sweet fragrance, but I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever smelled anything sweeter and better. Creed Original Santal, Creed Royal Mayfair and Amouage Sunshine Man — or even Le Labo — are nowhere near this scent in comparison. I LOVE IT.
Smells like Gris charnel extrait but more ambery. Nice
I liked the floral, creamy opening, but the drydown smells very dry and woody, like cedar, with the smallest hint of something sweet. This isn't worth the pennies if I must be honest. Encens Suave is the only one I liked from them so far.
Its like a softer and smokeless version of Gris Charnel. Longetivity is ok but sillage is not satisfying.
This works so well on my skin. I am DYING to know what the extrait smells like. Very heavy on the sandlewood, but blended perfectly when it settles. 9/10 for me. Not a safe blind buy. Expensive, yes. But if you can find it on a discount perfume site, well worth it!
Coming back to this… I hate it. I tried it on paper before and thought it was okay. Now I have it on skin and I’m praying I can wash this off. Sickeningly sweet benzoin and smells a lot like Gris Charnel. I really don’t like it, 2/5
I love this when I want to smell something different I am not big into milky or sandalwood forward but this one gets very cozy and lovely I’ll keep smelling it hours later really enjoying it great on my chemistry with time it gets better and enjoyable
you guys know any dupe for this ?
