Chocolate Greedy

wow it’s launched in 2007? Still holds up in relevancy to a gourmand lover like myself. When I wear this it feels like I’m wrapped up inside of an airy fluffy chocolate mousse. I love it so much. It’s not so much of a thick chocolate syrup type of situation which I can appreciate as it makes the wearability increase in my day to day.

I think this fragrance is better suited for colder weather, either on its own or layered with something else, like Libre. Before Vanille Couture entered the picture, this was my secret layering combo! I find the orange note a little too strong here. I think it would be better with a bit less of it. That said, maybe that’s exactly what makes it pair so well with orange blossom fragrances like Libre. 6/10 ✨

I honestly am in the minority who like Montale, but chocolate? it's an ultra stale, dried-fruit-filled musty, dusty cacao cereal with some haze of vague rose and grade D orange. so far from delightful (well at least 2 me!)

I guess the decant i got was somehow spoiled, otherwise it wouldn't remind me of bug spray. It has some cacao and some Jasmine (although not listed), but overall, bug spray. That's it.

smells like nutella at first, and then nutella with a slight orange touch, lasts for hours, i applied it in a store, around 13 hours later i still could smell it, and projects on me for a lot. very nice scent, in love with it

I received a small sample of Chocolate Greedy and it immediately leaned toward a darker, more sophisticated interpretation of chocolate. Think 70% cacao - rich, slightly bitter and far removed from any creamy or “greedy” milk chocolate accords. It gives the sensation of a dense dark chocolate orange ganache cake melted into liquid form, where bitter orange zest cuts through the cocoa, adding brightness without softening the overall depth. On my skin, the composition remains firmly in this dark gourmand territory. I don’t pick up much in the way of dried fruits or coffee nuances that are sometimes mentioned. Instead, it’s a fairly linear interplay between bitter citrus and cocoa richness. The result is elegant, slightly austere and more atmospheric than indulgent. Projection, at least to my nose, is more restrained compared to other Montale oud offerings, which tend to announce themselves more boldly. This sits closer, making it feel more intimate and wearable in quieter settings. If you’re after a smoother, creamier chocolate experience, I’d suggest exploring Paris Corner Choco Cult or Dua’s A Chocolate Affair. Both lean more into that luscious, gourmand confectionery side of cocoa.

This is a very interesting recent purchase for me, and I’m still testing it in different conditions. Right now I’m wearing it in summer, which might not be the most ideal setting for this type of scent — I suspect it may behave differently in fall or winter. On first spray, I clearly get chocolate and cookies — very realistic, sweet, and immediately comforting. It’s the kind of opening that makes you think of a warm bakery dessert. As it develops on my skin, however, something shifts. A slightly strange, almost “off-kilter” facet appears — like baked goods that have been stored near something medicinal. There is a bitter nuance that comes through, which might be the bitter orange note listed in the composition. It adds an unexpected sharpness that contrasts with the gourmand sweetness. Despite that twist, the fragrance is extremely long-lasting — easily over 12 hours on my skin. Overall, this is a strong “like” for me. It’s not a simple gourmand, and that contrast between sweet chocolate and bitter medicinal edge actually makes it more interesting than expected. It doesn’t remind me of any other scents I know — it feels completely unique.

smells exactly like an orange dark chocolate with orange zest in it. might be the most photorealistic gourmand perfume i've smelled. i love smelling this on my arm but i dont think i want to smell like an orange dark chocolate outside my home.

They now have Montale at Sephora. Only about 12 bottles of display . Holy Hell , this brand SUCKS . They smell like room sprays / diffusers from Marshalls. I'd be OK with all this IF they were $24.00 a pop. They are not. I hate the light weightless cans that feel so empty even when full (I think this brand is "empty") . Chocolate Greedy smells like a T.J. Maxx candle / diffuser / room thing . BLUNT cocoa powder mushed into a coffee can that still has coffee grounds inside. Then add MUD. Over the years I blind bought 3 different cans of shit from this brand and they all sucked. I'm sure this company started as a pet pee pee stain remover business. NO GRADE for Chocolate Greedy .

Smells like orange dark chocolate. I think the orange and dried fruit notes are there in an attempt to add more dimension or "brighten up" the fragrance a bit, but it sets me off. It would smell like straight cocoa powder without it and I'd prefer that as citrus scents are not my favorite. I think this is something that I would love to smell, but on another person.

Omg this is so good i love this. The only Montale scent that works for me as so far everything I've tried from his line just speeds into overly loud and masculine on my skin. This is a tasty, warm vanilla cocoa on me and I genuinely dislike most vanillas. It hovers towards one note ...some tart orange makes an appearance but its faint. it's a great realistic, scrumptious chocolate that takes you on a olfactory journey through creamy high quality hot chocolate on a snowy day experience. The first spray is like when you open a hot coco powder tin and there's a bloom of chocolate sugar dust inhalation. Recommend for gourmond fans. I found a travel size thats not in the lightweight bottles and has a better atomizer.

I did not know how to feel about this fragrance at first, but I notice myself reaching for Chocolate Greedy time and time again for my aromatherapy sessions. Recently, I have been exploring photorealistic perfumes, and this frag keeps popping up as one of the most reccomended realistic gourmand scents. I had to try it. Judging from its name (always a bad idea), I was expecting a more (dark) chocolate forward scent. I did get a burst of strong cocoa (supported with the coffee) on the initial spray. However, it quickly turns into tart oranges and dried fruits with a slight biscuit-like scent. The chocolate was there, but not as prominent as I thought it would be. Later on, the tartness of the orange gives way to a sweeter milk chocolate scent with vanilla. Overall the scent reminds me of those artisan chocolate bars that have dried fruits and cookies stuck to the back. A very happy scent :) I think most people got caught off guard by the orange and dried fruit notes. But if you enjoy citrus scents and are trying to get into gourmand fragrances, this could be a good start for you. Please do test if your body chemistry agrees with this scent before committing to a bottle.

This smells identical to Palmers Cocoa Butter. I adore it. So much better than expected, I understand why it’s a cult classic.

Genuinely smells like you've lathered a chocolate mudcake all over yourself. Super delicious, but I use it much more as a layering fragrance.

This is the true for you. You will ever get this one smells like lait de biscuit chabaud This was a blind boy and it is reminiscing of the Oreo without the white in the middle if you really overthink it, it’s not a harsh chocolate at all I’m still looking for the best brownie similar to brownie pop but less money🤓

The opening of this was amazing. Smelled like straight up chocolate. But on my skin in the drydown this turned sour like spoiled milk. It probably doesn’t work like that for everyone though so I’d suggest trying on your skin before buying.

I love the strong milk chocolate opening that the perfume has, as it is reminiscent of that of kinder chocolate or a rich cup of hot cocoa with a hint of vanilla-infused whipped cream. The bitter orange interpenetrates with other notes throughout the transformations that Chocolate Greedy undergoes, and stays ever-present much as tonka bean. Vanilla in turn, seems to latch onto the chocolate notes and provides the fragrance with a dessert-like, realistic quality. I find vanilla a bit overly persistent in the core and base area, as the chocolate in the head fleets rather quickly and a sweet vanilic aroma diminishes the other gorgeous notes that I took a liking to. The transformation from a strong, indulgent chocolate into vanilla icing with a comforting aura makes Chocolate Greedy stand out, because the realistic approach to gourmands makes this perfume an accurate representation of an indulgent dessert. Overall, it is one of my favourites when I'm looking for a cozy gourmand vibe. I wish the opening I've described would last all the way to the drydown though, since the long lasting prominence of vanilla is not something I expected.

On the initial spray, this smells like chocolate oranges or chocolate milk poured over fruit loop cereal (I get some bergamot). Like others have mentioned, on the dry down, this smells exactly like Coco Puff cereal. Very wheaty/malty with milk chocolate, which can be divisive to some if you do not like bready notes. Longevity and projection are excellent, but I would err on the side of caution when spraying because this could easily become a little too strong. Some other reviews said this was a bit nauseating, and I could see that. Projection and longevity with gourmands is a delegate balance. A little to potent and you have a recipe for nausea and a headache (looking at you, Bianco Latte). I do like this fragrance, but I'm not sure it's a wearable gourmand in public. This is something I would wear at home for me to enjoy. Chocolate Greedy is a novelty gourmand when you want to conjure memories of coco puffs with your favorite Saturday morning cartoons.

Chocolate Greedy lives up to its name remarkably well. It is a warm, gourmand and very powerful fragrance that does not go unnoticed. One anecdote perfectly sums up its effect: arriving to see a friend, she immediately reacted with "wow, that's insane, it smells like chocolate," almost mistaking it for a fresh waffle. When I let her smell my arm, she laughed and said her boyfriend should absolutely never wear this, otherwise she would want to bite him all the time, to the point of being jealous of my girlfriend. The opening can catch you off guard, with a slightly powdery quality that I don't particularly enjoy. But after about fifteen minutes, the fragrance transforms completely into a sweet, almost caramelized chocolate, far more gourmand and addictive. It is a fragrance that attracts a tremendous amount of attention and compliments, with a true signature. Intense, enveloping and unapologetic, it will suit perfectly those who love bold, gourmand fragrances.

I tried liking this one but i just cant, it smells nasty almost diapery and is the only fragrance that has made me gag, maybe its my skin but i want to get rid of it

Damn. I finally got to snif this one. AND I AM SO DISAPPOINTED:( I was really not expecting this one to smell so FAKE. Maybe it's my nose? It smells like the cheapest chocolate candles. I am looking for a nice dark chocolate scent. Oh wellll
