Halfeti

This perfume to me smells like an old man. Ive had the bottle since November and its one of my favourite perfumes. It has this nice rose and cardamom and leather at the start I cant smell the oud but it smells spicy and sexy. I would get a second bottle of it for sure. It'a also a compliment getter and is one of those perfumes that still lingers even after leaving the skin. An old Italian or Turkish man in a suit and a tie that smokes cigars and signs about the love he has for the country he lives in It's mature yet its easy to pull off.

It's a complex blend of woody, spicy notes mixed in with leather. I do like it but its more masculine for my liking - therefore prefer it on my husband.

Halfetti, just with opening the small dab bottle, is terrible. It smells like the perfume embodiment of alcohol right before you're about to vomit it back up. I'm genuinely apalled by the opening and the utter repulsion it invokes in me. Past the opening, it takes you to the warm embrace of a freshly shaven gentleman, especially the comforting, creamy note. Somewhere in there is the well blended essence of a barbershop or a particularly sophisticated (and busy) corner of a parlour. It seems to have captured a sliver of the past. It's definitely a mature, masculine perfume and does give the impression of a well-groomed man. The opening (which I can't ignore) and that I wouldn't personally use it make me 'dislike' the scent, still.

After sampling Mr. Sam, Halfeti no longer holds my utmost admiration. My nose now finds faults here and there to accuse the fragrance of having notes that do not quite sing in tune or feel as well-blended. A review would be nothing more than a glorified subjective comparison.

I don’t get the hype around it. Opens up green with a noticeable cardamom and saffron. After just 2 hours settles down to Tonka-Vanilla-Amber. The only thing I find very interesting about this one is its evolution. Going from green and leatherish to this shows complexity. Projection: Within arm radius in the first hour, more intimate after that. Longevity: 5 hours, becomes skin scent after 2z Leans masculine thanks to the cardamom on and the green scents.

This is interchangeable with Blazing Mr. Sam, one of them shouldn’t exist. It also resembles Diptyque 34 EDT, Nishane Ani ^Free Palestine - No Wars^

Smells amazing!! A near perfect blend of woods & spices with a touch of sweetness from the bergamot. The only issue i have with this fragrance is the longevity, just doesn't seem to last on my skin. I get around 3 hours then it’s pretty much gone. Not what you want at this price point

Halfeti is always lauded as a perfume masterpiece so was keen to try it. If you love an incredibly spicy fragrance it will be right up your street. I am glad I got a relatively cheap tester as I intensively dislike this fragrance. An overload of ambery spice up my nose! Would say a more masculine fragrance and not a scent profile that appeals to me. Beware if you prefer a sweeter or more floral fragrance.

I used to hate Halfeti with a passion. This silly little bottle, with a pretty little bow gave no indication of the rank contents within. I come to the table each time determined to remain inpartial and let the notes tell me a story. I heave, my upper lip is sweaty. I shove it back in it's box and stick it with my other hell no's, over and over. I forget about it eventually. It gathers dust. Then one day I pulled it out and gave myself a few good quirts. Maybe I finally matured. Maybe I'm cooler. I always thought if I were cooler, I would like this guy. Camphorous, dry resinous woods crackle. Only barely picklely sandalwood drowned in exotic spices. Something slightly sweet, something vanilla. Something... weirdly sexy. I understand rose is somewhere, but don't detect it. It didn't last long enough. After it died, I reapplied. I accept that I reek. I don't love it, but I understand its place now. It is one of my preferred fragrances for watching history documentaries. I alternate between this and another former enemy, MFK Satin Oud. They seem most appropriate and lend a certain atmosphere to this activity that feels right. Like, "oh, my leg smells like rotting meat, have the groom of the stool douse it in Halfeti!" Am I going to wear it out and about? It's high summer in the south. So, yeah. I am right now, actually. It's already on the tray. Fuck it.

This is a fragrance made me fall in love with Penhaligons. Though its a great fragrance but longevity is not that good. Terrible Teddy, Halfeti Leather and Mr. Sam are great and top 3 for me and perform way better.

Penhaligon's Halfeti is a fragrance that I would consider a masterpiece. It's difficult to describe exactly what makes this fragrance so special, and I'm aware that perfume is subjective, but if you haven't tried it, I would strongly encourage you to. It has an almost oily texture and sits relatively close to the skin with moderate sillage. That being said, it goes through three distinct stages when I wear it. Initially, upon application, you're greeted with a very smooth oud and nutmeg combination that smells warm and addictive. This isn't a traditional Middle Eastern-style oud; instead, it's a creamier and more refined interpretation of the note. Everything else in the opening is blended perfectly, creating a mature herbal character, though not in an especially green way. It's more mellow and linear. It reminds me of the dry down of BDK Gris Charnel, when the sandalwood begins to emerge alongside the herbal facets of the fig. As far as projection goes, the opening performs very well and creates a noticeable scent trail without becoming intrusive or overwhelming. The dry down is my least favourite part of the fragrance, though not in a negative way. You'll notice much of what defined the opening beginning to fade, leaving behind a very soft, slightly floral scent with a vanilla nuance that still feels rich and refined. At this point, the fragrance almost seems to lose some of its character, and there's a transitional phase before it develops into its third and final stage. The base of the fragrance is simply amazing. I'm always quite cautious of leather in fragrances, as I think it can ruin a lot of otherwise great creations. That's what I initially expected here. However, the leather in Halfeti is executed so tastefully that it becomes the standout element of the entire composition. What you're left with is an incredibly mature and opulent blend of leather, vanilla, and woods. It smells effortless, almost as though it's simply your natural scent rather than a fragrance you're wearing. To me, it is the embodiment of maturity. Additionally, if you spray this on clothing and smell it the following day, the scent is incredible. The way it lingers on fabric is one of my favourite parts of the fragrance. As for when to wear it, I would say Halfeti works at any time of day and in any season. While it opens with considerable strength, the relatively restrained sillage and the airy, almost watery quality of the mid-notes allow it to work surprisingly well in warmer weather. As long as you're comfortable wearing it, I don't think anyone around you will have a problem with the scent. If you're having trouble imagining what this fragrance smells like, just picture yourself walking into the Ritz. That's what comes to mind whenever I smell Halfeti. At £220 I believe it is fairly priced, Of course, value is subjective, and it may not be worth that price to everyone. Speaking objectively, I think the fragrance could reasonably be priced closer to £130. This fragrance is perfectly unisex, and if you want to smell like a member of the royal family, I would highly recommend giving it a try. Rating: 9/10 An incredible fragrance. :)

Every time I try this one it gets better and better . When I first tried it I was not in love it smelled okay not great . Since I was not impressed I decided to sell it although I tried it one more time and it was better and then again and I decided to take it off of the website I listed it on and keep it and now I am considering buying a full bottle 9/10 would recommend.

Immediately reminded me of Triumph of Bacchus which is everything Halfeti is....but better.

What can I say that hasn’t been said already. Rich, sophisticated, spicy, sweet and addictive. All in all a very nice perfume perfect for autumn and winter but can be worn pretty much anytime but high heat. 8.5/10

Halfeti was my first true fragrance love and the scent that made me genuinely fall in love with perfume as an art form. Before this, fragrances were simply something pleasant to wear, but Halfeti completely changed the way I experienced scent. She is cinnamon and feminine, but also leather, spice, and masculinity all at once. There is a richness running through the fragrance that feels warm, mysterious, and incredibly addictive. It manages to feel elegant and dark without ever becoming harsh, and the contrast between sweet spice and smoky depth is what makes it so unforgettable to me. I also love the nostalgia and heritage surrounding Penhaligon's as a fragrance house. Their perfumes feel timeless and theatrical in a way that modern fragrances often do not. Halfeti feels luxurious, confident, and deeply atmospheric, like stepping into another era. Even after trying countless perfumes, this is still one I deeply respect.

As my barber once said 'You Smell Rich!', and now I have to tip him more. So If you want people to stop you and say you smell amazing, this is a solid choice of scent. I saw and ad on instagram for Halfeti, then remembered I had an unopened sample somewhere in my bathroom from buying my mum 'The Favourite'. When I finally found it I was just blown away by it's heavy, exotic power. The next day I went and got a 100ml bottle, which was my first fragrance change in over a decade (RIP Chanel Bleu). To me it felt like a sophisticated, grown up kind of scent, its very powerful and commanding and guaranteed to get you a compliment whenever and wherever you wear it. A Great option for bar/pub/club settings as it stands out against everything else, so your friends will always find you. I'd recommend it to anyone, although I do think it leans more masculine, which is why I ended up branching out to other scents, but it's still there for when duty calls.

Just received the 100ml perfume bottle of this as a very generous gift. Will have to live with it for a bit to really assess it but first impression is that it's very sophisticated and opulent.

The quality is as you'd expect, very nice. I just don't like this DNA. But for an EDT, this boy lingers. I sprayed it once in the air then Sprayed it on the back of my hand, 2 sprays. I just smelled it and went through the story it was telling. Pretty interesting but not for me. After like an hour of sniffing and watching TV i wanted to go out so i showered and this MF just won't come off. Took a good deal of scrubbing to get it to a skin scent. I went back in my room, it smelled like halfeti. I got dressed sprayed on a different perfume and left. I came back the next day, well over 24 hrs after i tested it out. The room still smelled like halfeti. Less potent, but still there. Lingering.

Showed my mom this and she instantly said it smelled like her jimmy choo original. Went and grabbed her bottle and sprayed both on her arms and I will say they do have very similar scents. Not to mention her jimmy choo is her most complimented perfume. This leans more masculine and I really like it.

An upscale barbershop oriental perfumed soap, and not a pleasant one at that. I rarely say this, but this is a scent that I not only abhor on my own skin (fair enough), but also would not like to smell on anyone else. When To Wear? NEVER lol

Penhaligon’s’s Halfeti is easily my least favorite fragrance in my entire collection. In my personal ranking, it sits firmly at the very bottom. It’s the only perfume that can instantly make me feel nauseous and even trigger a strong headache almost immediately after spraying it. Ironically, from the very same brand, I absolutely love Sartorial. To me, it’s elegant, refined, and incredibly wearable — basically the complete opposite experience.

Ok this, at first spray I was like ok nothing to go crazy for. Went to sleep woke up the next day and opened my closet where the hoodie was with the stains from it and I was like wtf is that!? I was in love..

I thought the hype was too much, until I sampled and found out that this is one hell of a good leather perfume. It's so well-balanced and the spice notes it has isn't offensive or harsh, so is the leather, it's rather smooth and well refined. I'm very surprised by the outcome, I get green cypress, lactonic smooth nutmeg, creamy raw leather, oud, amber and some spices, all well put together. Very elegant and sophisticated. This might potentially be the best leather scent I have ever come across. The funniest part is that it's so smooth I can even wear it to bed. It's masculine. Also it's sillage and longitivity are on the low, but it's so worth it.

Not my favourite smell but definitely my favourite fragrance, the sillage, the projection, the longevity are all perfect, the blend is perfect, the bottle is perfect (bow aside), the box was perfect, the way the bagged it was perfect, the service in their boutique, perfect, cannot speak highly enough of Halfeti and Penhaligan’s

IMO this is Christian’s best work ever. His masterpiece. and my first niche fragrance I ever smelt. Top 3 always for that reason. This is just a beautiful memory personified.

At the risk of being contentious, this is what a man should smell like. A hugely complex composition that feels considered and bold. Opening spicy and fruity, then easing into a woodsy, slightly leathered dry-down filled with darkness and sweet resinous depth that’s dense and opulent. It plays polite but absolutely owns the room with a real heft that just oozes class. I’m told they pump this through the air conditioning in Penhaligon’s stores. I can’t speak to that as there aren’t any where I live. Perhaps that’s a blessing, as I fear this might take the shine off it for me. In any case, what a great perfume.

Great fragrance but has a weird note that smells like wasabi. Except that great fragrance and compliment magnet.
