shes adequate and safe. good baseline scent for office that is generic but pleasant, cant really go wrong.

Imagine Invictus, then add more sweetness, more synthetics, and a bubblegum drydown. It ends up smelling like something made for a 16-year-old on his first night out. Sweet, synthetic, youthful... Not a bad scent if you're into that style, but it's not for me 6/10

The notes and blend is great for late fall into early winter. This reminds me of thanksgiving dinner as I wore it a few years for thanksgiving dinner... That's about as long as it lasts though. 2.5-3 hours... MAYBE 4 if you count it being a skin-scent for the last hour, even after 4 sprays. I know I am not nose blind to it because I asked a few people if they could smell it, general consensus was after 2.5-3 hours you had to be within 6 inches... just not quite enough to rate it more than an "OK" value with that kind of longevity. Otherwise this is a timeless scent, and I will always keep a bottle on my shelf.

Magnificent scent that is pleasing and unique. Unfortunately, like most Polo colognes today, it doesn't last. Modern dinner summed it up perfectly below.

I absolutely love the smell of this. That bright, crisp, citrusy, red fruit opening feels really rejuvenating and good. Mellowing into something slightly sweet and floral and then (my favourite part) how that scruffy but elegant woody, coffee base comes through and, for a short while, mingles with the top notes. Beautiful. Unfortunately I can't give this fragrance mor than an ok because it barely lasts 3 hours and it projects horribly. I can't even tell I'm wearing it unless I stuff my nose in my chest, even after liberally spraying. My friend couldn't even tell I was wearing it when smelling me up close. If there was a stronger version I might consider getting it, but as I understand it the EDP has similar issues and also might lack the coffee note.

A lovely scent. First time I smelled it, I fell in love. That was many years ago and I have had the same bottle ever since, currently at 30% full. I suspect I am beginning to outgrow this. It fades away after a few short hours. You smell really good and it projects a bit but it's not a stand out in performance. It is more of a "come close and lick my neck" fragrance than anything else and thats okay. I enjoy it a lot. I will probably not rebuy it but plan to finish my bottle and move on to some newer frags and to Polo Red Parfum.

Really not my thing - opening is straight rubbing alcohol (which is fine, most colognes have a harsh opening) but that note just carries through the whole thing, it's a synthetic sweet fruity scent, really don't get anything more complex on the dry-down, no coffee or anything like that. It honestly smells pretty similar to my friend's cherry perfume from Finery to me. It also fades very fast, so even if you like the scent - it'll be gone quickly. I'd sooner suggest the Parfum version. 3/10

I just wish this lasted longer, it becomes a skin scent after the first hour. But its nice for daily wear.

Used this for almost a decade, carries some happy memories , for me I keep a bottle for nostalgia rather than a daily wear , grapefruit cranberry , the EDT don't last long but for a quick dinner night out it's fine , if you are into EDP then this feels light weight 7/10

This is a peak fragrance i don't have much experience in cologne's but my collection is starting to grow and so is my taste this is probably my second to third favorite in my collection the only little nitpick i have is for the first couple minutes before it dries down it smells like straight alcohol like rubbing alcohol but once it dries down it's actually a perfect 10/10

Smells like 2013. Smells like a ralph lauren polo shirt with straight blue jeans.

Its a lot smoother than other citrus frags thanks to the amber and wood. Decent longevity on 4 sprays.

This is a great fragrence for really any season other than summer, and maybe late spring. Works day and night, casually or otherwise. The cranberry gives a circus scent that is rather unique and pairs well with the warmer tones. The coffee note is there when first sprayed but really comes out at the end of the lifespan. Good classically masculine scent while still smelling modern.

Very good starter fragrance for sure, it is very fresh, cheap, and mass appealing. Polo red is a very safe blind buy. now for the downsides, the longevity is not super great, you'll get about 5 hours out of it and the bottle cap itself was very low quality. 6.5 out of 10

I smell cranberry, coffee for a brief bit, citruses and amber. The opening is my favorite part. The fragrance experience, overall is underwhelming. It is like D&G's The One EDP in the sense that it does not last long. It's great, but it is not here to say. I think a 3/5 is a proper rating. It would be a high 4/5 if the complexity stayed throughout the duration.

This fragrance smells so good to me. That cranberry note is great. This very solid scent wise that is blind buy safe 100%. Performance wise it’s mid. Not a bad fragrance at all though.

Very masculine and timeless smelling fragrance that smells different compared to what is being worn nowadays - opening is quite inconsistent for me though, sometimes it is synthetically sweet or just a flat citrus. However it quickly fades into a very nice woody and obvious masculine scent whilst retaining a subtle sweetness. Can't say much for performance, it doesn't leave much of a trail whatsoever (since it's an EDT). It performs at most 1-2 hours and becomes a skin scent for the next few. If you would like this sort of DNA then definitely consider the Parfum or EDP versions, they will build on this. You could wear it all year round, just not on very hot days (like many other fragrances). Nice in situations where you don't want to be the centre of attention but still smell clean and refined - a perfect dumb reach. I purchased mine from a discounter, yet you MIGHT find other fragrances similar to this with better performance AND maybe for even less. In my opinion I'd only buy this if it were on sale. Overall it is very safe to wear or even to blind buy. 6.7/10

A classic, but I wish it had better performance because I really enjoy it. It stands out compared to other generic designer scents. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, the performance is abysmal. It lasts only about 3 hours on my skin and has little-to-no projection. If Polo Red Intense was not discontinued I'd buy a bottle, but as is it's not worth the effort or money to track down.

By synthetic, I do not mean chemical in a negative sense, but rather abstract scents that do not exist in nature, derived from synthetic materials and hard to compare to familiar natural smells. The opening is pleasant but only lasts a few minutes. • After about 10 minutes: the fresh notes fade and very light creamy notes appear, and it stays like this until it dries down. In short, it is like any other fresh fragrance, not distinctive as the notes and some reviews suggest. Uniqueness: 3/10 Scent: 6.75/10 not bad Good for someone who does not own a fresh fragrance. Its advantage is that it is not salty from ambroxan, unlike some fresh fragrances Edit: John Varvatos XX Intense. Is 90% same as this but better scent and performance

My partner wears this for date nights and I’m OBSESSED. It smells so sultry and sweet and I love sniffing it on him. Delicious!

please please please try this in the cold weather i used this yesterday, it's about 30° here in baltimore and i take the train to dc for work... i got an insane amount of compliments from men and women, then i get to work and literally got a compliment from everybody at work like, literally all night into me just getting off at 6am safe to say this is going to be my work fragrance at least until spring

Went to Alta to test before I picked the one up at Burlington. Tested the mat red bottle and it was so nice with the cranberry pop and the sweet creamy dry down. The one I bought at burlingtown had the clear red bottle and it smells like a more generic amber blend....disappointed but the silver lining might be slightly better performance due to the heaviness of it.

Can't remember if if reviewed this yet, but I've been wearing it more lately and just moved it from a "like" to a "love." This stuff is just so easy to enjoy. I don't every find it cloying or harsh. The level of sweetness is just right. The coffee isn't overly strong or bitter. The cranberry adds that spark on top. It's masculine but modern. You could wear it year-round, though I prefer it in the fall and spring. Performance isn't phenomenal, but not many fragrances are. If you want it to pop more, spray more and it will. At around $40 - 45 on discounters for a 4.2 oz. bottle, this stuff is a steal. Highly recommend.

The cranberry provides a much nicer lighter 'red' fragrance than you think. All around decent fragrance for the cheap. Solid 7/10

Great scent, but marred by lame performance as is often the case with most department store designer brand fragrances(calvin klein, tommy hilfiger, etc). It’s a like for me, but don't expect projection; longevity is decent- stays on the skin about 2-4 hrs for me. This is a nice little calm one for early fall days when the weather hasn’t changed to fully cold(long sleeve t shirt weather). Overall: 7 Scent: 8 Longevity: 5 Projection: 4 Value: 5

IMO, a must have in a collection. It is pleasant, neutral, calm, does not scream. It is not a club/fuckboy perfume, but still pretty mainstream. The description of notes matches to the smell: cranberry, citrus, sage, woody notes. At first, ( maybe first two hours on you) - pleasant cranberry smell, with lemon and all the top notes. Then, middle notes give transition to the woody and coffee notes, so imo, it perfectly develops itself. I have to say though, I got to experience this perfume on other people before, and I got myself a 8ml sample, so I did not blind bought and knew what I was getting. If you never smelled it before, then do not blind buy it. I would highly suggest to get 8ml sample. This perfume is not super crazy good, but I also think that it is very far from cheap, horrible, synthetic perfumes.

Believe it or not, Polo Red is my favorite citrus freshie to wear in the fall and winter. People call this juvenile and more fitting for teenagers and kids to wear, but i don't care bc it just smells that good. A very simple fragrance it's basically a cranberry lemon with amber and woody notes. I can't detect any coffee, maybe its essence is in the formulation to energize the wearer bc that's what I'm feeling whenever I wear this. I'm not really sure why more fragrance houses don't utilize cranberry notes, bc it's pretty great and definitely underrated. Polo Red is what perfumers wish they can create. Definitely a 10/10 in my book.

Worth a shot if you find a tester for sale or on a good discount. I'd recommend more strongly if the performance were better. I'm not a big fan of so-called freshies, but I like this one. Not enough to buy full price, but there ya go. I'm not sure I would with any freshly over twenty five. I've been scolded for having this in my perfume cabinet without the original polo green. And, you know what? That bottle is way better looking. If anyone has an empty I can decant this into, I'd be happy to take it. But the leather in Polo's OG is an acrid example of why I am incredibly cautious with men's leather scents. Polo Red looks gaudy and like you found it at five below, but it's fine.
