I got this back in 2017 after trying a sample and enjoying the opening. It was the 2nd fragrance I bought for myself, so I was still pretty new to this hobby. It was a different chapter in my life: very young, broke, & constantly overwhelmed. I didn’t wear frags nearly as often as I do now, but when I did I often wore this. The scent is etched in the background of my memories of hazy nights, first dates, and all sorts of awkward learning moments. In short, I associate this scent with my early adulthood and surely always will. Which is probably why I lost interest in it for so long. Anyway, I found my old bottle and recently started wearing it again. It’s a bit interesting revisiting it, my tastes have certainly changed (I think my sense of smell is generally not as sensitive as it was either). The bottom line is this is a solid - if not great -designer frag. It’s well executed and uncluttered, hence the short list of notes. It’s also kind of gourmand-y, but stops short of feeling explicitly edible or cloying. I get a burst of fresh red fruit with the coffee up front. It’s listed as blood orange but for me it also seems kind of red berry-like. The visual on the bottle captures how this dynamic feels to me: a very striking splash of red centered in some sort of dark element. Red citrus & berries in a bowl vanilla coffee beans & Ebony woods. Very pleasant, pretty sweet but still fresh. The fruit drops to the background after about an hour as the coffee comes forward with the woods. What makes it unique is the coffee here isn’t a bitter cacao, it’s a creamy vanilla latte. It’s completely rounded out, no sharpness or astringency here at all. Similar to the coffee accord in Rochas Man but fuller and better blended. A bit of that fruit sticks around to accompany the coffee, which keeps it interesting. This all dries down to a smooth sweet vanilla wood. Performance is great on my bottle. I remember it being surprisingly strong and smelling it on my clothes for days. Still seems to be the case wearing it today, I keep getting wafts of it after 8+ hours. You could get away wearing this in an office or just out and about, but ultimately it’s a club frag meant to draw attention. I’d even say it’s one of the better club scents I’ve encountered, but it’s not really my genre so ymmv. This would be great for a 23 year old who is about to have a night out. However, I could easily see a confident 50+ man wearing this on a leisurely golf day because it’s not as over-the-top as other popular club frags. Quite playful and appealing, but not obnoxious. For me personally, it skews a bit young (personal bias). Maybe it’s the sweetness, but this genre in general isn’t what I usually go for. That’s not to diminish what I can tell is a very pleasant and likable scent, just a personal anecdote. it’s a great fragrance, I enjoy wearing it and recall it getting a few compliments. I wasn’t aware it’d been badly reformulated then discontinued. Not a safe blind buy.

This fragrance is way ahead of its time. I can say this 2017 release is the predecessor of the vanilla sweet fragrances that exploded in popularity in the 2020's

This is in my top 5 favorites and I'm very sad this is discontinued. It is very good stuff and I smell chocolate, woody notes, coffee and a hint of citrus. I absolutely love this scent and it just makes you feel good wearing it. Projects good, average longevity. Please bring it back! Haha.

Fragrance Journal Entry #49 This is one of those fragrances that actually makes sense to have a 3 note breakdown. What you see is exactly what you get, opens up with a bright blood orange and coffee combo that is backed up by some sweet woods, which makes for a truly stunning scent. However after 20 minutes you see exactly why it was disscontinued, the performance is abysmal to say the least, you get about 15-30 min of projection and 1-2hour longevity, for context i sprayed this on 7 times before bed, laid next to my wife and she said nothing...so i waited 45 minutes until i finally said "sooo do you like it or what?" She had no clue what i was talking about and it wasn't til she leaned in 2 inches from my neck that she actually could smell it, horrendous performance accross the board. Rating: 7.4/10 Blind Buy Safe? NO

God i miss this juice.... love this style! Coffee & Blood Orange. Wish I had another bottle! 9/10 - losing a point for versatility but for me it's a 10/10 cold weather perfume. Too bad it's discontinued... BRING IT BACK

Coffee in this fragrance is like it's playing hide and seek with your nose, most of times it's hide and only you sniff from the atomizer of a long kept in the back of wardrobe bottle then you found it again, crazy.

Smells like every other young dudes perfume. Its nice but way too sweet for me. I like coffee in my perfumes..this one have none. Reminds me of some Valentino born in roma creation. Dont overpay for this one as it really is nothing special or unique.

I don't get a coffee note or blood orange specifically, I would say it smells like some dark syrupy ripe fruits with hints of wood and dark chocolate. Powdery too. I like it for colder days and/or nights. If you want a real coffee scent try Qahwa by Fragrance World - that's the best coffee scent I've ever smelled.

First spray is so great, as with many RL flanker scents, this descends into mediocrity after a few hours. Orange and coffee syrup and some very dark, mysterious woods lend a lofty oriental edible experience and you’d quickly understand why this one is so beloved and sought after. This smells like a very stripped down version of many of these types of scents out there so don’t be bummed if you can’t get your nose on it at this point. I was lucky enough to get a noble price on a smaller bottle through eBay. Blind buy and I’m super happy with adding it to my RL lineup but again it’s discontinued so tough to find and a bit simple. Though I will say it absolutely has a clear aphrodisiac quality to it, the juicy red line’s juiciest.

Just got a bottle for the first time, and unfortunately the projection is BAAAAAAAAAAD. Like skin scent within an hour bad :(. It smells excellent but just cannot justify the cost considering the performance (mainly projection). Would recommend people avoid unless u know ur getting an immaculately kept bottle. Seems that most bottles dont age well.

My sister bought this for me as a birthday gift in 2018, I didn’t really like it back the so I left it in my drawer. Now after I found it once again of trying and not It liking it through the years I can’t stop wearing it and just now today I found out that it is a discontinued fragrance thankfully my sister bought me a 125ml one so I will only wear it during winter or fall.

What i would do to smell this again .. i'm literally in tears here .. i think this was the best coffee scent to ever exist in the market .. and i can't believe non of the clone houses have attempted to clone it because i think this is the easiest cash grab .. i've never come across a citrussy coffee scent this good .. it's straight to the point and addictive .. whenever a scent can make you nostalgic .. you know it's done a great job .. i say this is one of my top all time favorite scents and it's a crim.e that they discontinued it.

First Pass - Very sweet, very fruity. A little wood. A little powder 2 Hours Later - Still quite sweet. A little coffee, a little wood, still some powder 4 Hours Later - Even sweeter. Florals and powder still present. A little vanilla? Surprised to see blood orange and grapefruit, no striking citrus here. Pineapple must be the culprit for the sweetness, which grows throughout Coffee shines through. Clary sage and saffron likely giving the floral note Ebony wood & amber, typically loud presences, are quieted early on . Cacao was entirely absent for me, if anything I got the opposite, a faint vanilla note Overall - My main objection to Polo Red (which I have reviewed separately), was that I felt it suffered from an identity crisis. The masculine and feminine accords pulled in opposing directions, leaving it motionless This flanker dialed up the sweetness. It accentuated the florals and powder, which should have nailed the coffin of femininity. Yet somehow, inexplicably, it doesn’t read that way to me. The powder is rich, sumptuous even. Like a fine mahogany desk filled with leather bound books. ***Scents, like tastes, are subjective. Wear what you like***

Finally, a coffee-based fragrance that smells like coffee. Very well done. Borders on niche.

The drydown in this one is 100% like Givenchy's Very Irresistible. Maybe this is the coffee note- I never detect coffee, to my nose it never smells like brewed coffee. In this and VS it smells like Mohogany, if that makes sense.

Such a classy, sophisticated man’s fragrance. The blood orange and coffee are absolutely glorious. So well blended. The ebony is there, but sits in the background. Luckily picked up a 75ml bottle of this in a Facebook group this week. There are still some around if you hunt. Good luck. 🤞🏻

JS87 you are right, I just got it and it is a disappointment, the fragrance in these bottles from 2019 isn't close to what I remember. Lesson learned Don't buy from ebay lol. It is still a beautiful fragrance but nothing like the first bottles.

I just got this.. it's a 2019 batch.. It's the smell i remembered from a sample years ago.. but the silage is Nothing compared to what it was. The longevity isn't even 4 or 5 hours.. Projection is crap and that makes me angry bc I remember 1 spray filling up my car and half a room. It might be a fake or bad batch but I did look it up and there was talk it got discontinued bc of fears it was being watered down. Maybe I got a super watered down bottle. I don't know. But I sprayed it 5x on me and it didn't last but a few hours. Majorly let down. Still.. the smell gets 2 thumbs up. This is a great mix. Simple and wonderful. Winter time and Fall time maybe even spring time are the best for wearing. I'd say night time is ideal but you can use it in the day time just as well.

WHEN I ASK FOR COFFEE IN A MENS FRAGRANCE, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IM LOOKING FOR!🤤☕️🍊🪵 Polo Red Extreme to my nose smells like an Espresso Romano where they used a juicy fragrant Blood orange instead of the usual lemon for the Espresso to drip onto. The Ebony Wood comes in subtlety, giving the Main attraction of The coffee and Blood orange some rather suprising Longevity and depth . I easily get 10 hours for four Sprays on Skin and on clothes I have to wash it out in order for the scent to dissappear completely. Red extreme is also a beast mode projector, easily with 5feet of Projection for 8 hours before it starts to calm down in that last two hours when sprayed on skin Baffles me to think Polo Discontinued this masterpiece of a flanker but that seems to be the rule not the exception unfortunately with these god tier Flankers of main line colognes Uniqueness/memorability 10/10 Longevity 10/10 Projection 9.5/10 Overall 9.9/10 The one thing keeping Polo red extreme from being a perfect 10/10 is that it's pretty hard to find a reasonable price for what should really be only a 75$ cologne. But, if its a 1$ an ML then I'd still say it's worth it

Only two fragrances of polo I would ever recommend are, purple label, and this fragrance. First of all to discontinue this should be a crime. This is a beautiful woody fragrance. The blood orange and coffee compliment the ebony wood so much. It’s dark, it’s gourmand. A masterpiece

It smells like LYNX dark temptation! Linear yet sexy and it lasts for ever... I only use it at home, my gf loves it

Dark, rich, sensual. My ex wife picked this one out of many when I first started my fragrance journey. I now have 3 back up bottles. Ladies love it and so do I. Balanced and just a bloody good perfume. Really good stuff and such a shame it's discontinued. 9/10 - losing a point for versatility, obviously a cooler weather fragrance. But you can put it off on warmer evenings. Ladies want to eat you!
