Shaghaf Oud Abyad

Definitely not for everyone. Its probably not for 80% of fragrance lovers. But for those who like unusual fragrances with deep, rich complexity.... For me, it took a few wears over a few months to settle on my current rating, 8.5/10. And oddly, I may be bumping it up to a 9 this winter as I get more uses. Being strong, challenging, and for some of the people you meet perhaps disturbing, you need to choose when and where you will wear this fragrance wisely. I get projection for 3-4 hours and it lasts on my skin well past 8 hours. Being inexpensive, I am more than willing to wear out shopping for groceries or just hanging out with some friends. Getting used to this scent profile led me to trying a sample of Amouage Interlude Man, which I ended up purchasing a bottle. I like Interlude more than this, but they are definitely brothers in scent profile. I never thought I would compare an Amouage to a under 25 fragrance. But that is the power of dupes, they can lead you to something you would not otherwise have tried, or in this case passed by on first sniff. For the price, Shaghaf Oud Abyad is one of the best out there, assuming you also love it like I do. edit: I wanted to add that a post lower down from about a year ago compared it as smelling like Catholic Mustard. I can see that, yeah. But I really like it even so. Maybe the mustard-adjacent scent is the thing that throws people off.

I thought I’d add this one to the others I love in the line, like Aswad and Oud Gold Elixir - but holy smoke, this one was not meant for me. It opens with a blast of cold incense that feels like crushed chalk and burnt paper. There’s a metallic dryness that grabs the back of my throat like it has a personal vendetta - a bitter, mineral smoke that never melts, never warms, never softens. It’s like walking into a stone church after someone burned the incense down to ash and then said, “Yes, bottle that.” On my skin it becomes dry, sharp, and incense‑bitter. This is church incense in the most literal sense: cold, mineral, metallic, skeletal. The whole composition feels like standing in a stone corridor after a fire - cold walls, burnt air, and a silence that reads hostile. The mid is aggressively dry, the base is aggressively bitter, and the whole thing is aggressively… aggressive. It never softens into anything wearable for me, leaning too masculine. Even though amber is listed, none of its warmth or sweetness shows up on my skin - no vanilla, no resin, no amber glow, no oud warmth, it's super cold. Just dust, smoke, and austerity. I can imagine people loving this for exactly what it offers, but it’s definitely an acquired taste. If your taste leans molten, sweet‑resinous, or amber‑vanilla, this will likely feel like the wrong fragrance in the wrong universe. Longevity is eternal, like a curse.

The "Gandalf the White" of Fragrance Shaghaf Oud Abyad is not a perfume; it is a sensory fortress. It is the "Gandalf the White" of my collection—ancient, authoritative, and forged in the shadows. The opening is a photorealistic blast of oregano and pimento that cuts through the noise of the modern world. It is unapologetic and "mind-bogglingly" dense. As the incense and sandalwood take over, it creates a dark, mystical void that effectively isolates me from the crowd. This scent doesn't seek compliments; it demands silence. It creates a parallel universe where I can finally focus on my own "inner self." It is a wall of smoke and resin that says, "You shall not pass." The Vibe: Dark, liturgical, and fiercely private. The Verdict: If you want to be "liked," look elsewhere. If you want to disappear into your own power, this is your armor.

I bought this after being very impressed with the OG Shaghaf Oud. As a big fan of Amouage Interlude Man, I must say Swiss Arabian did an amazing job yet again. Compared to Interlude, I would say this is 97-98% accurate. It has much more depth than I expected given the price. Of course, not as much as Amouage, but still impressive and satisfactory to my nose. Even before maceration, it doesn't smell cheap and has no plastic-y accords that I usually detect in clones. You really have to try hard to find something bad to say. Strong performance. Outstanding fragrance.

Very nice parfaume Insane & Sandalwood & Patchouli. LONGEVITY over 24 hours Sillage over 3 hours. Well done swiss arabian.

This fragrance is very similar to Amouage Interlude—just as long-lasting, loud, and intense. While the original is slightly more complex and feels richer in depth, the price difference speaks for itself. At about 90% cheaper, this is an excellent alternative. If you want the same character without the high price tag, it's definitely worth getting.

Nose Note #932 Basically the same as Interlude Man. Midnight Oud might still be a better deal price wise. I like presentation more here. Men only. Great longevity. Great sillage 8.5/10, lovely dupe of Interlude

The opening isn't great with an extremely strong, smoke note. Once that passes you get sweetness from the amber step up with a nice wood and spice note. Really good projection and longevity with this as well. This is my favourite from the shaghaf collection. 😍

All I smell is turmeric and cumin spice market. Maybe changed a little at the 6 hr mark but still had a very spicy scent. I wouldn't like to smell this on anybody. There is no smoke or oud too. Just bland overpowered spice. I have to agree with @rmestr2527 . It's probably mustard and turmeric.

Hmm, this is an odd one. Im a SA fan, but this one..... now I'm not the one for "occasional wearing", if I enjoy a scent I'll use it most times (some exceptions ofc, like 33° and super heavy dark smoke is ofc not appealing). But for this one I really don't think I'll be able to wear it AT ANY "occasion" and i dont really enjoy it..Opening is just a weird heavy smokey, earthy, inky, rubbery-ish scent, hard to describe, but there is nothing pleasant, it brings headache for me, and I get nauseous... im sure it's long lasting tho and good projection, all my SA fragrances are. But this is just my first review..I hope it softens over time, because for me this one is not wearable.

Interlude man?.....well, not quite! Yes you have the incense/smoke that Interlude has, but Abyad is different! It is more powdery than earthy/herbal! Not a bad scent, but misses the path to Interlude, but still nice! I can't say anything about performance, just got it!

You have to love incense and church smell to like this scent profile. I personally like it very much and have this for my personal enjoyment, but it's not a crowd pleaser in any way. You need a lot of personality to wear it - or be an actor looking to add this kind of scent to complement your character personality.

If you like incense with a masculine lean, this is one of the best value fragrances of the past decade. Many hours resin and gentle smoke, basenotes balanced enough to give them movement with excellent sillage and longevity, all for about twenty five bucks. It's strong. It's well composed. It's tenacious--I received sincere compliments weeks after I'd sprayed a jacket, surprising me. I understand the Interlude comparison, and there's a family resemblance. But this lacks the interplay of bitter, medicinal herbs set against smoke and sweet incense. It also lacks Interlude's woody heart, with much gentler cedar and patchouli (which make up about twenty percent of Interlude's formula). This is just the smoke and incense with enough citrus and herbs for contrast, but they rarely break through the smoky haze. I don't think I'd mistake the two. But I don't care, I may honestly prefer this over the original. It's sweeter, more affable, and eminently more affordable. Not that my bottle as a pre-2023 IFRA batch. The Arab world bottles may be different as they are rumored to ignore IFRA regulations. I do recall the version I smelt in Morocco being far stronger. One caution: this was terrible on unboxing. Funky, crunchy, dank, short-lived. Two months later, it is a daily favorite.

Smooth, smoky, and spicy goodness. Have yet to try Interlude, but honestly this stuff is so good.

Interlude man junior. No wait a minute. It’s Interlude boy. Ha ha ha. 😆 Because I'm too damn cheap to wear the expensive shit. This is not bad. Just don't expect the $200 performance. It only last a few hours. And washes easier out your clothes 😂

It smells like not tasty not natural food. No smoke no oud here. Just beans or peanuts wrongly cooked with some not nice spicies. I do not understand how people can like to wear it.

The opening was very harsh & i got an inky smell, however on the dry down, you get more of this potent burnt leather scent. You need to be into polorising leather, i dont get as much oud or amber in this but it is very nice and i really enjoy it!

OUTSTANDING clone (or inspired by) of Interlude (the blue beast). Not for everyone, but if you love that Interlude and Interlude 53 scent, this is something you must try. It's perfect when you want to wear Amouage Interlude, but cringe at the thought of wasting that fragrance for a "not-so-special" occasion. Again, this is NOT for everyone. If you're more comfortable with your basic crowd-pleasers (and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that,) this stuff may not be what you're looking for... GREAT JOB to Swiss Arabian!! It seems like you never fail to impress!

Swiss Arabian Abyad...What does this smell like? Mustard...Straight Up Yellow Mustard...Actually a little stronger than just regular mustard, that's the opening! Yes, I'm talking Hot Dog Mustard but a little stronger...A little more mustard on the mustard. Now, I like the taste of mustard on my hot dog and I prefer the taste of dijon on my sardines. I have little to no desire to smell like mustard even if its a stronger version of yellow hot dog mustard...making it stronger doesn't make it better. In fact, this is the Eau De Parfum of Mustard or maybe the Extrait of Mustard... The Dry Down: Well lets just say if you were able to withstand the Mustard smell for the several hours it takes until the Dry Down instead of running to the sink to vigorously wash it off... Then the Dry Down smells like: Yup, still mustard! Actually it gets a little more complex than just mustard. It develops into mustard with a twist of incense. Mustard that went all Catholic. As a matter of fact, in the bible, the mustard seed symbolizes how great things can come from small things...run with that if you want...I don't see great things coming from Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Abyad, just the smell of mustard on biblical proportions. Many say that Oud Abyad smells like Amouage Interlude Man. That's amazing because I had no idea that Amouage made a mustard smelling fragrance for men. So Oud Abyad goes from an Opening of Yellow Hot Dog Mustard to a Dry Down of Churchy Incense Mustard. Yeah, definitely not for me. Now if Swiss Arabian would have mixed it with Azraq (Honey Oud) and made it more like HONEY OUD MUSTARD...Well, we just might be getting somewhere...hmmm...but sadly, that was not to be... Might use this as a substitute for Pooperie in the restroom where I can mask one stinky smell for a stinky mustard smell. Oh so many options!

I agree with @Madyana. I got this as a gift and maybe used it for once or twice as it was too harsh. It's been sitting in the shelf for 3 years. I checked it again a few days ago and now it's rounder and softer. Maybe something has changed with my nose, i don't know. I will be wearing this next winter.

Oh, this has aged beautifully on my shelf. My bottle is several years old, now all these " shouting edges" have been polished just into a lovely, smoky, sweet, herby, delicious mix with that "hard bone" attitude. I can't wait for summer nights to wear this!

At first, I thought, “Yo! This smells very synthetic.” But after the dry-down, I’d say it’s about 70% similar to Interlude. The next dupe I plan to buy is Afnan Incense. I’m a huge fan of Interlude—it’s my signature scent! I highly recommend this one if you love Interlude. I just got it, so I can’t speak on the longevity yet, but hopefully, it performs well. I’ll be wearing it this evening to watch the Champions League at my regular bar.

For me it’s too cloying. I can’t imagine the right situation to wear it.

One of my first ventures into Middle Eastern perfumery — and what a surprise it was. When I first received Abyad like two years ago, I remember it being much more diabolical and vile than it is now. Today, I was greeted with oily oregano, reminiscent of herbs on a pizza night, quickly shifting toward a not-quite-culinary green, spicy incense wrapped in creamy, ambery resins. It seems to have mellowed during its stay with me, losing its once-extreme, cheap sharpness. Still, the aggressive opening demands conviction, but once you push through the confrontation, it stops resisting — settling into something almost hypnotic, pulling you deeper into its resinous core. What happens next is like a bonfire getting philosophical. The heart of Abyad is where the composition turns inward, becoming richer and more contemplative. A sweet, woody oud with a slightly medicinal edge. The texture moves back and forth between gritty charcoal dust and molten resin, thick and slow-moving, before settling into the cracked surface of scorched wood. The finale adds bright smoked leather — sharp and raw. All of this is laid over a deep Middle Eastern DNA, leaning masculine, though women could wear it too. It carries the industrial bite of a tannery or a smoke-stained workshop, where leather and tar-like heat shape something primal. The performance is enduring, with moderate projection but remarkable longevity. The bottle is beautiful and its atomizer creates large, direct clouds. A completely unsafe blind buy, but if you crave a sweet smoke generator that lingers relentlessly, this might be for you. I've analyzed most of the reviews, yet none mention the slight booziness. It's marginal — maybe just 1% of the blend — but I can definitely sense a whisky accord. I don't know why, but when wearing it, I felt an urge to drink coffee even though I had just had one. When all is said and done, I wouldn't call it unwearable — this isn't one of those unapproachable, antisocial ouds. Abyad is more meditative, built to be experienced alone — luxurious and mystical, yet edged with a calculated aggressiveness. A rogue alchemist's fragrance — a skirmish of extremes, where unpolished ferocity meets opulent warmth. I'll see how it stacks up against Afnan Supremacy Incense tomorrow. I am a (straight) woman and I wear Interlude Man along with two very close dupes (when I'm traveling or less invested in whatever the occasion may be or just in the mood to overspray). I love woods, resins, green scents, salt, smoke, spice, leather, bourbon, fir, and herbal notes in my fragrances and they make me happy so I wear them. Now that we have that out of the way: Yes, Shaghaf Oud Abyad is a dupe of Interlude Man, although I don't like saying it because Swiss Arabian (and Lattafa) makes plenty of original fragrances and they don't deserve to be known as a "clone house." I HATED it at first. The opening didn't make any sense. Almost tried to return it. But at the same time I couldn't stop smelling my arm. What kept me coming back is the smooth, creamy drydown. Over time I also started to love the opening. Why does Interlude work? The various conflicting notes only clash at the beginning. Leave it on long enough and everything starts to harmonize and fall into line. What ties the whole thing together is the most delicious vanilla underpinnings to all the herbs and foliage. It's like a camping trip right in that moment that you squish a really roasted marshmallow as you pull it off the skewer to stick in your s'more. I wear this for myself, but get complimented on it by men and women alike. The projection and sillage are NOT "beast mode" on me, contrary to the popular reports. It's noticeable but doesn't take over the room. It's perfect when I'm not in the mood for WOODY woods, or for spice, or gourmands, or beach fragrances or the very few florals I own. It's fougere but better. Like if a chypre and a fougere had a baby and the baby was made by Amouage. What I DON'T like: Whatever oud is allegedly in here is undetectable. I think the oud is just a rumor that won't stop circulating. But hey- if you're not sure about Interlude, buy a decant. If you like the decant but don't love it enough to drop $300 on the original, then go for Midnight Oud or Shaghaf Oud Abyad. Both are nearly identical unless you're purposely trying to pick them apart, and nobody will know the difference (but the Midnight Oud bottle is prettier).

Performs like a beast and better than the og. Unfortunately amouage have been reformulated and they aren’t beasts modes like how they were back in the day which is quite sad. Crazy how the dupe is performing better. This just reminds me of Arab sheikhs and isn’t for the western noses. I love it and especially for the price point it’s a bargain for sure.

Makes a headache for me and people around Too much Synthetic Cheap Will never buy any clone perfume again There is 1000 cheap perfume (not clone) performe good for example- CK, davidoff, ferragamo, mont blanc, lacoste - for those that can't buy expensive perfumes

Budget version of interlude man. If you know interlude, you will never be happy with this fragrance, this one is very harsh and sharp, there is no smoothness of Interlude. In the air they might smell similar, but up close they are nothing alike. Performance is amazing.

Great scent, long lasting, well rounded perfume. 99% similar to interlude. Thanks swiss arabian.
