Libre Eau de Toilette

It smells lovely: floral, vanilla, orange blossom notes in the opening. This is my favourite part. Then later, the lavender is slight, with musk & jasmine. However, when it softens after 3 hours, it is like this Libre EDT is mixed with a strong tea smell. It reminds me of the green Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert Bvlgari. While I like the strong Libre EDP DNA, it is extremely soft. Yes, I can definitely smell the strong Bvlgari and slight Libre smell together. It lasts a long time, 8+ hours on clothes. On my skin, it lasts 4 hrs. I like the EDP Libre better because I love the citrus strength, freshness and sharpness. This EDT is softer, less sharp and a summer/evening subtle fragrance. It is not an outstanding, perfume that is unique for me. If you do not like a strong tea smell, it will not be for you. I like the Bvlgari tea smell. I feel I have 2 perfumes for the price of one. After 5 hours on my clothes, the equal amount of soft Libre and Bvlgari are fused, which is okay. I wish the Libre DNA was stronger in this fragrance because it smells wonderful at the start, but softens quickly.

I find that I have a total love for tea scented things, have mercy on my wallet because this one is up there with the two grand stand competitors on my list after one sniff… The thing with it is that it smells Main Street to me, and I don’t mean that as city vibe (but it totally goes with my look and city aura) but this is something that doesn’t stand out enough to be unique however if I met someone who smelled like this I’d totally ask what it is. The projection of this is something I recon to be quite strong and it will take over the room, therefor also long lasting and in a good way. In contrast to my signature fragrance this is something I would wear to a meeting or event where I wanted eyes to be on me. I give a big round of applause to YSL for knowing how to make a fragrance strong without being too overbearing. Their Homme is also fantastic and that will probably forever be my favorite male scent (if you smell like that I WILL talk to you 😂)

Is this being discontinued? Edit: I messaged YSL Beauty on Instagram and they confirmed that it is in fact being discontinued, in their words “LIBRE Eau de Toilette is no longer available” - so any remaining stock you’re seeing is just what’s left.

@ Metallica10: this EDT came out in 2021, so your sample must be Libre EDP which came out in 2019.

I have had a deluxe sample of this fragrance since it came out in 2019. I have captain in its box out of heat and cold out of sunlight.So there's nothing wrong with it at all other than the actual fragrance itself is so disgusting.I can't even see straight. I have tried, I take it out every couple of three months.I put it on, and I try, and every time it is just terrible.It actually smells like fabulouso because of the lavender. Normally, I like lavender a lot. But this is so bad.So awful... I get it, everybody loves it. And it's got all the notes that I love. But for whatever reason, whether it's my chemical makeup or the way that the fragrance difference is blended.And or the actual notes are used, it just is, and all of the.Reviews, i've read about this.It's either loved or hitted.There's very little middle of the road. I'm so glad I never invested the money in a full sized bottle. To those that love it, I say, enjoy, wear it in the best of health.

Smells amazing and airy , she is my number 2 after libre le parfum

I love Libre EDT (and EDP). The trick for me is one spray in the air and walk through. ONE. This is so powerful and really must be applied with a light touch. The thing is, this is truly a well constructed fragrance that gives you everything. Very traditionally feminine to me with slightly bitter jasmine tea and orange flower with a musky indolic dry down. It is quite a unique, mature, sophisticated composition that is just stunning when dosed properly. If you enjoy it, wear it proudly. I know the EDT is thought to be discontinued but I just grabbed a 1.7 from Navarro that had a 2025 batch date, for what that’s worth.

Smells like a chic granny. So not for me as a 20 year old

Opens very strong and a bit dated. It reminds me of an older woman. The citrus opening is off-putting, and the references to smelling like cleaner are accurate, but not in a good way. It’s a bit reminiscent of air freshener. It smells like a very strong, dated perfume with a masculine edge over a vintage lavender soap. It takes a good hour before I find anything pleasant in this fragrance, and that’s only the vanilla starting to show up. Like the reviewer before me, I like all the notes listed, but for some reason I don’t like how they come together. It’s very strong and can be headache-inducing. Overall, I have nothing good to say about it

BLEH not for me. I like citrus, I like lavender, I like white floral, Jasmine and vanilla!!! but for some reason this concoction leans more cleaner to my nose than perfume. A happy citrus floral cleaner. I could see a mature woman wearing this in the summer, and it lifting her mood. Because I can tell Libre is trying to be a light and happy citrus. But sadly this perfume gives me a headache, again too much like laundry detergent or cleaner spray.

Orange blossom is the most prominent note to me, reminding me strongly of L‘Interdit by Givenchy. Out of the other Libre fragrances I tried (the original, Intense and Le Parfum), this is the softest, most rounded and least sharp one, and therefore my favorite. I perceive this EdT to be quite linear, what you spray is also what you get in the drydown. All in all an inoffensive fragrance that is suitable for many settings and seasons, even a sunny winter day.

All I get is a very sweet shampoo and soap. Not much of a perfume smell for me.

It smells like my mom in the 90s. Love her, but it just smells kinda old to me.

Love how prominent the jasmine tea blooms on my skin in the heat of summer . Smells like fresh laundered lavender clothes , a subtle sweet vanilla and the cirtuses just lift up the jasmine tea which overall gives it a cozy yet energizing vibe. It’s more laid back than the EDP, but still striking and sophisticated. So beautiful , refreshing and classy

It’s got that strong 1990s floral scent vibe, like the perfumes your tita wore to parties back then. The lavender and orange blossom combo is clean but it also feels a bit dated and too familiar. Not bad, just not special so I don't reach for my bottle anymore.

I agree with a previous review, this is strong and sharp and it's only an EDT. It must be very synthetic. The lavender and the orange blossom are making this smell very soapy and like clean laundry. This is also smells pretty mature. Headache inducing

My daytime Libre. Longevity is phenomenal for a EDT. This was gifted to me and I remember thinking it was an accident since they knew I had the EDP before. However I found it’s such an easy everyday reach. Perfect for spring & summer to fall days. It also suits me every well- lots of compliments like “someone here smells really good” etc. I’m comparing Libre EDT + Libre Intense and they smell very similar in the opening. Only the EDT blossoms and transforms like crazy. The top notes has that signature lavender-orange blossom smell. Then, in the mid, I find it smells a bit bitter because the jasmine tea note is very green. This is the fresh cool summery Libre. The warmth that you would find in the base/dry-down of EDP & the Intense versions is not in this juice. There’s a light touch of vanilla but it’s not thick or syrupy at all. It’s soft, powdery, white musky vanilla. It’s quite lovely. I’m already halfway through my bottle.

I love libre it's a very sophisticated floral done well. A great office, day time pretty much anytime scent to me.

A glorified air freshner that belongs in a boujee bathroom

A brighter, fresher version of the edp. White tea notes shine the most, then lavender and the orange blossom is very clean. Sounds elegant and well put together in summer, does not offend, leave a trail or tire. Maybe if I was in love with the original I would want this. As it is from the toilette versions of the main pillars I would choose Idole edt, it is brigher and more refreshing. It has impressive longevity. All day and evening.

For me it opens with orange blossom and lavender note that reminded me of laundry detergent. Within minutes, it gave me a headache. The dry down is better but still it’s not something I’d personally wear.

I'm a vintage YSL perfume lover and was keen to acquire a newer YSL offering that seemed by most reviews very popular and well-liked. Alas, not this gal. For me, it opens with a promising citrus blast before drying down into a weird mash-up confused florals and within <30 minutes I can't get past what others have noted is a sharp, offensive, metallic note. That's it, that's all I get and yes, it has staying power because the sharp metallic lasted ALL DAY. I could detect it on the clothes I was wearing the next day, so into the wash they went. I suspect it's another ambroxan heavy overload I'm experiencing as well as (sadly) a much lighter wallet. Bummed :(

I don't think I have ever encountered an EDT that performs like this. In fact, I think it might even have superior throw and longevity to the EDP and the Intense versions. I have a travel sprayer of this, and it will probably last me the rest of my life--not because I don't like it (the tea and linden notes are so pretty) but because a few sprays will last into the next day and possibly even through a shortish shower.

God bless my mother for gifting this to me, out of all the libres this one is much more fresh! It’s as if you’ve taken platine and flower and flames and made them have a baby, it pulls more citrusy and lavender and has less depth but less is more in my opinion, it’s simplistic enough and soapy enough, and if you couldn’t tell by now, I’m a sucker for rich and fresh perfumes that aren’t overly complex. It lasts a decent amount of time as an edt and it has a good scent bubble 9/10.
