Bleu de Chanel EDP is a true classic and, honestly, it fully deserves its reputation. It works all year round, feels easy to wear in almost any situation, and my 8-year-old bottle still performs exceptionally well. For me will and always be a gem!
Its features a simple, linear scent. Its a straightforward no-nonsense fragrance that is very versatile. Personally, i think it is a bit boring, but its still a very pleasant blue scent.
My all time favorite blue frag. The transition between notes is seamless. The grapefruit sticks around after the dry down which rounds it off perfectly. Its like a juicy, savory, fresh clean maybe linen-y scent. Perfect for every day, office, gym, ect. I need a full bottle of this stuff. I could huff this decant all day.
This is the definition of classy masculin scent. Opens up very citrusy and bright, dries down to this very unique : blue, citrus, woody, slightly fruity, slightly smoky and ambery scent. I prefere the edp over the edt or parfum : edt is less smooth than edp and the parfum is too woody to my liking. Signature scent worthy!
Hype was real. Bleu is the real deal, real masculine perfume. Worth every penny. Can't wait to try out L'Exclusif.
I think I have very quickly learned I am NOT a citrus kind of guy. I was ready to absolutely hate on this because the opening is so sour, but as its dried down it has gotten much softer and more pleasant. Definitely not something I would ever wear, but this is infinitely better than the other citrus stuff I've tried (I'm looking at YOU Aventus Creed with your nasty bitter citrus smelling ass)
very nice scent super versatile a bit overpriced
"Bleu de Chanel" is the fragrance equivalent of a heavy menstrual cycle. It slams your nostrils into a mound of pink pepper, submerges them in a pond of nutmeg, and makes love to them using patchouli as a sexual lubricant. It's the aroma of sophistication, youth, and Christian Bale's ballsweat still trapped in the Batsuit 20 years later. After a couple of sprays, "Bleu de Chanel" sprawls you out on the floor like a drunken Jerry Seinfeld spouting gibberish about toilet paper dispensers that are too far from the toilet. Let it dissect your olfactory senses like a frog in your high school biology class. Submit to its advances in the same way you do when your wife dons her Indiana Jones outfit. Everyone used to mock "Bleu de Chanel" as safe and generic. That changed thanks to a $30-million marketing campaign starring Tom Vilsack, the sensual former United States Secretary of Agriculture. Vilsack's star power breathed new life into the fragrance, catapulting it back into best-seller territory with suave and sex appeal. *** 1/2 out of ****
ive had all flankers and i have to say this is 2nd after l'exclusif but if we factor in the prcies this is the clear no1 for sure, but honestly the memories i made wit this colgone makes them all unwearable but this was the love of my life in 2021
This is THE best all around fragrance.
Just ok for me. Much prefer the EDT, shouldn't have listened to people online. Trust your nose guys.
smells good but i dont want to smell like someone's ex boyfirend or dad, so i wont wear it. if you dont care about that, then this is perfect. works all year round any time.

I haven’t logged onto fragrantica in weeks, maybe months, but I’m wearing Bleu today and I’m smitten.clean, breezy laundry drying I the Mediterranean sun. I love it. I can see this working in all seasons, it’s very complex. And in case it’s not obvious, I’m female. Yes,I agree it’s masculine. yes, I’m super late to the party, but I had to shout this from the rooftops: I found a Chanel I love.
My god… it’s full of stars… The g.o.a.t.
I like it. But I'm not much of a fan, I think its because I got the Parfum first. I got this thinking that I was gonna have a similar experience. I know they aren't the same, but this is definitely a bit brighter, its not bad. Just not my cup of tea. I think its good if you're starting a collection and are not sure what to get. Its also good for any setting, but so is Parfum. I think my problem is that I compare it too much to Parfum. Despite this being its own thing. I wish I was able to love it as much as I love Parfum but I can't. I definitely do believe if you're looking for something a bit brighter and energetic than Parfum you'll find it here. Its missing the deeper punch but its still good nonetheless. It is very citrusy and woody, which is what I love about Bleu in general whether EDT, EDP, Parfum or L'Exclusif, they all share that citrus woody scent. They are all amazing. Although this isn't my favorite, it is 2nd to Parfum in my opinion. Still a great fragrance, especially for beginners that aren't sure what to get and want to buy an everyday fragrance for now.
Sublime scent. Citrusy, aquatic but still with a nice creamy cotton, musk note. 10/10
a citrus incensey scent suitable for any occasion however i wished the sillage on this was better i get 8 hours on skin 9.0/10
And with this, I have completed the Blue fragrance gauntlet. I have found myself in a bit of a rebirth with my journey in this hobby. It is really easy to get bogged down and influenced by what you see online, especially in the fragrance community on TikTok. Despite being in my 20's, I have been in this hobby for 7 or so years and have seen fragrance content migrate from YouTube to short-form content and how that has affected the industry and public opinion. It took me a while, but I now realize that I have been influenced in this way. I have bought fragrances solely because of hype, completely neglecting the ones I actually enjoy. It has been so refreshing to see people create content about the fragrances they actually like, not the ones that are popular right now. It is really annoying to see all these young people (teenagers) parroting what influencers say about fragrances. So now I have pivoted: not buying the next hot dupe, not keeping fragrances in my collection just because they are popular, and not blind-buying (for the most part lol). Overconsumerism is incredibly easy in this hobby, but now, for me, there is no reason to waste my time and money on a fragrance unless I really love it. Like many of the Blue fragrances, I avoided this one because it was "too popular" and "NPC" (calling things NPC is so cringe ts is not a video game). But screw it, this smells good, so I am going to own it. I like this concentration much more than the EDT, which I find has a bit of a nail polish quality to it. It is the most classy of the Blue fragrance genre, as it is very smooth. Projection and longevity are ok, but it is a freshie; it doesn't need to be nuclear. I got a sample of the L"Exlusif with this, which I have already smelled and really like. I hope to also get that, as it smells amazing.
amazing perfume, slightly NPC but completly worth the hype! 9.5/10
It is a genuine masterpiece. Smells a cut above the rest, one-of-a-kind quality that's impossible to properly dupe. But this is certainly weaker than it used to be. Back in the day this used would have 3 distinct stages that each had noticeable performance, now you're lucky to have any semblance of a skin scent left by Stage 3. I had decided its time to finally get a bottle and went to a store to test between this and the Parfum, as I'm writing this review, not even 6 hours later and this is pretty much completely gone. Now this isn't completely disregardable performance, but Dylan Blue or Sauvage would run laps around this performance-wise. Practically any popular designer blue I can think of would run laps around this. And no I am not noseblind, and yes my skin is fully moisturized. I often tend to get better performance out of many things people call weak. Naturally I can still smell the Parfum a bit more than this, but the Parfum's weaker projection never makes it too much stronger than a skin scent in the first place which makes the overall performance ratio just not worth it both ways for me. Hell, Superleggera feels more noticeable than these right now as I tested that at the same time too, and I know BDC DNA is supposed to perform better than CAH's. This is an amazing scent through and through, but to me, the glory days are done thanks to the IFRA. Maybe if Chanel wasn't too high on their farts, and let this hit discounters I could recommend it, but the price begets much better performance. I've tested the CDNIM Iconic Extrait multiple times now just out of curiosity, and while it is noticeably lower quality than the real thing, it performs better while still feeling insanely high quality for the price. I'll gladly pick that up next time it pops up in a Marshall's and call it a day. Maybe L'Exclusif might have better performance while still keeping that BDC magic... Its a damn shame cuz for the 3-4 hours I could noticeably detect this and the Parfum, I was surely reminded of why I was about to be willing to pay full retail.
Class (A) blue perfume. A joker of all times and seasons. Better on skin than on clothes. Very popular yet special. If you are not sure which perfume to wear, specially if you have large perfumes library, wear this and don’t be late to work. It also has the same Chanel DNA as Allure homme. Wish watermelon and coriander note was more noticeable.
Generic mens fragrence.
Always loved this scent.
This is a great introductory perfume for people who are starting to venture into perfumes. It’s one that fits all seasons and occasions, be it outdoors or indoors, rain or shine, snow or drought. It’s clean, citrusy, and aromatic. It’s generally inoffensive and, I reckon, will be suitable for everyone’s taste. It appeals to all ages. It could be a sporty, preppy, smart, flirty, seductive, and sexy scent as it transforms itself depending on who wears it. I think the high price point is really justified, as it is truly versatile. It also became a framework for a whole lot of clean and fresh masculine scents we all loved and enjoyed. This easily is one of my favorite freshies, along with Mancera’s Cedrat Boise and Aoud Lemon Mint. Truly remarkable! This EDP performs better than both the EDT and Parfum versions, and is also generally more appealing. It easily lasts me 8+ hours on skin and clothes. I will not mention any standout note because, honestly, and for some reason, all are harmoniously detectable and not battling for the spotlight.
BdC EDP is very well done for what it is - an extremely versatile and inoffensive blue fragrance. It smells like a straight up amalgamation of every note above, meaning, no note is outshining the other for the first few hours. To put it more clearly, I am hit with citruses, florals, warming and fresh spices, herbals, smoky incense, and even sweet and resinous ambers after spraying. This profile stays this way for the first hour or two, and it's so, so good and versatile...I'd call this the best blue fragrance ever made. You can literally wear this anywhere and everywhere, and if I were a person who only had one fragrance, this would be it. What I found most interesting, and why I love this scent out of all other designer blues is the aldehydes really shine in the late dry down, about 3 hours after spraying. It's super clean and laundry-like...that's different, and I really, really like it. 9.1/10
For me, this is the fragrance I would recommend to someone classy, in their 30's, 40's, 50's, who works in an office, who wants to buy only ONE fragrance for everything. This is the do it all, any season, fresh smelling woods fragrance. Its $170 though and doesn't go on sale. I am a bit underwhelmed for that price. However, if this was my only fragrance I don't think I would feel underwhelmed. I really do like this but is not wowing me, if that makes sense. It is a great scent at the end of the day.
Melon lol. Thee's no melon in the official notes . Only Fragrantica got it .
A recent purchase and I'm late to the party, but better late than never. That melon note is pronounced on my skin. It sits closer than expected lasting 8 + hours 9/10
I had this when i was 16 it was my signature scent but now i just feel like it is generic, a lot of people want a safe blind buy and end up buying it and sticking with it. if you want to smell unique don't buy it but if you want to start your collection it is a very good choice
