The opening smells like straight p1ss, and I'm not joking, it really smells like p1ss would stick with EDT or EDP
Less powdery more woody than the OG. Best in line hands down, perfect all year round for all occations woody mature scent.
One of my go to for any occasion. The other being This is him! Undressed by Zadig and Voltaire. I really like it. Very non-offensive, easy and versatile fragrance. A slightly more formal and heavy version of the EDP. An easy purchase if you want a fragrance that offends no one while still smelling great.
I'm not sure why it's become cool to disregard or hate on BdC nowadays. Sure it's basic, but at least it doesn't reek of your girlfriend's ex like Sauvage does. I adore conventionally "challenging" or "niche" profiles like Jovoy's Psychedelique, but I have enough room in my heart for more mainstream scents too. This version of BdC is richer than it's predecessors, and is possibly the most versatile men's fragrance ever created. A man could only own Bleu de Chanel Parfum and realistically not need to own any other fragrance. A staple. I should have gotten a bigger size than my 50ml bottle!
The Swiss Army knife of fragrances, can be used anytime for any occasion and will never seem too much or too little. The citrus and woods blend is perfect, tiny bit spenny but a must have imo, nicely masculine too
Beautiful scent, but too similar to the EDP with worse longevity on my skin and for my nose. Dont waste money.
Honestly I know niche snobs (I can be one myself) sigh at the thought of BDC because people overhype it. BUT it's overhyped for a reason, this just plain smells good. In fact I would say this smells great. I know the EDP is probably the most popular and that smells good as well but IMO it doesn't have the blending and smoothness of the Parfum. The mandarin and woods with the chanel musk and sandwood is just chef's kiss. It's very versatile, in fact I would say you can wear it for any occasion or almost any season (winter is an exception). It's one the the best signature scents. It's nonoffensive but not boring. It's classy but can be semi casual. Yes it's expensive (so are niche), but I'm glad I picked up a bottle and don't regret it one bit.
Height of the Bleu line, height of the blue fragrance family. It does everything to take it up a notch with the smooth, creamy wood and aromatic lavender. A more serious Bleu with a fougere structure. The creeping price is a pain, but it’s pretty perfect otherwise. A+
This is pure class, it's the best blended fragrance I've smelled so far to the point where I can't really pinpoint any specific standout notes. Can wear it anywhere at any time for any occasion and will never be out of place. Probably the safest fragrance you can buy and personally although the Bleu DNA is so well known, there's enough difference in the Parfum for it to stand out from what you'd expect. I'd spray a bit less during very high heat as it could come across a bit much. And I think it really comes into its own during colder months but smells amazing all year round. My biggest gripe with this is performance, I'm perfectly fine with the projection as it's to be expecting to be sitting closer to you being a Parfum, the longevity is what disappoints me. I don't need it to be a 12+ beast, but it doesn't last me a work day, I get comfortably 6 hours where I was hoping to get more like 8, and for the price you pay, that's a shame. I'm almost through my bottle and I'm very tempted to pick up another one because the scent is incredible, but the price does hurt when you know I can't get a full work day out of it. I know I can top up, but I don't think you should have to.
A masterpiece of a fragrance. Chanel really nailed this as an all year round staple, great blend of woods, citrus and iso e super that allows this to push off your skin. Having said that though, it is very expensive and on my skin this projects for about 90 minutes before it either becomes a skin scent or i become nose blind, a common occurrence with iso e super-based fragrances. Buy this if you're looking for something that will get you compliments, but will be a ubiquitous smell around the office/pub, and if you're a bit more mature. Don't buy this parfum version if you want to smell more youthful I'd say but take that with a grain of salt:)
An aristocratic masterpiece in a bottle. 10/10
Bleu de Chanel Parfum in my opinion is the best of the line up. It is a beautiful fresh masculine almost aftershave like scent that dries down into a beautiful woody scent. This is what a man smells like. Truly a great a masterpiece in the fragrance industry.
A complete and utter masterpiece. 9.5/10
Absolutely beautiful, nuclear performance, it does not just project but its like radiating no matter the wind or weather condition, it always grabs the attention from around. Huge compliment getter, perfect for special occasions, date, office (high level). I would say it shoukd be used with respect
This is my jam right here! Modern enough for younger tastes, yet sophisticated enough for someone more refined. Perfect daily driver. Expensive but worth it. 10/10
Less “youthful/more mature” than the EDT and the one I tend to prefer of the Bleu’s. However, this can be worn by anyone at any age, this just means it’s more subtle so if you prefer a bit more projection from a blue fragrance then get the EDT (or even EDP). You can’t go wrong with any of them really, it’s Chanel, & it’s the OG king of Blue fragrances that spawned the blue craze. It checks every box for a fragrance in this category, 10/10
This is probably one of the best smelling all year cologne! Unfortunately this last 5 hours on me.
I'll say the same thing I said about the EDP. This is 100% a masterpiece that scent and quality wise, is a league above most of its competitors. The only fragrance in its class I'll catch myself just sniffing over and over again because it smells AMAZING, not just nice like most of the other big blues. The Parfum is definitely the richest and most beautiful form of the DNA to my nose too. But this is way too expensive to be borderline undetectable 6 hours in as a parfum, I understand not having much projection as a parfum, but I should still have a lovely, easy to pick up skin scent at this stage. Maybe if this at least had more projection besides basically being a strong skin scent for much of the wear I could justify it, but that simply isn't the case. Or maybe even if this hit discounters I could justify the price, but it doesn't. You hear schizo reformulation complaints about countless designer fragrances all over Fragrantica, but this is one of the first times that I feel like one of those guys because I remember testing this line a couple years ago and having a beautiful skin scent from this and the EDP 8 hours in. RIP to another IFRA victim.
This is a great fragrance if you enjoy a perfume you can put on whenever, wherever and not be out of place. It is a better version of the EDP as it lasts longer on my skin as well as projects further. My only caveat with this scent is that it is a tad too generic, which is because the whole industry has been inspired after it.
I have a bottle up for grabs. PM me for details.
What is missing from the edp version is completed in this one... More mature scent, more classy, more pure ingredients, more well blended parfum i could say that makes the smell of this fragrance more seductive to my nose, more completed version of the line that generally gives more..... It is a step up... You can imagine the YSL Y EDP vs Y Le Parfum 2021 version comparison, something like that...! I Recommend this excellent product. A swiss knife tool for all day and all season wearing!!!! 8 hours longevity with moderate sillage. Fantastic!!!
This is a masterpiece, just does it all. Smooth, classy yet seductive. Performance is above average and for me the best BDC. In my top easily. Is it unique or interesting? Not really but so mass appealing and liked by everyone its a no brainer.
The amber and sandalwood put this flanker on an upper echelon. So, let's talk about compliments, it stops people in their tracks. 10/10
The parfum flanker of Blue De Chanel is absolutely gorgeous. It begins with some of the brightness of the eau de toilette that started it all. Citrus here is still bright but more fleeting. It is also slightly more intoxicating in that it is smoother. Do possibly to the more intense sandalwood Accord and the Tonka bean Accord in the base of this fragrance. The parfum is a more quote" dressed up. Janelle blue in that the intense doses of amberwood and ISOE super make it a highly rounded and slightly more balsamy fragrance. But given that this has the bold brightness in its opening, followed by the more mature and overall intoxicating middle and bass, this is my favorite of the chanel blues. I agree with other reviewers who will say that with a few sprays of the parfum there is not as much radiance to the scent. It is closer to my nose than the eau de parfum, but that is somewhat subjective. And my amateur understanding is that the Amber accords here do offer radiance to those around the person wearing it. This is all to say that the parthen to me smells like luxury and the sandalwood wrap around effect makes no note in this feel overdone or otherwise astringent gone is the slight metallic hit of the the eau de toilette again replaced with more wood. More sweet and it is beautiful. If you're looking for the easiest blue to Chanel, I would still go with the eau de toilette or the eau de parfum. The parfum is a distinct and extremely rewarding bottle
I had just recently picked this up after running through my bottle of BDC EDP and was honestly surprised to see that you could realistically own both the EDP and Parfum and it not be redundant. Wear the EDP in warmer seasons and the Parfum in colder ones if you really love the DNA. I however just love how easy this is to wear, I have built up my collection over the years, and even with me smelling so many scents, I still love how simply mass appealing this is while maintaining some intrigue for me as the wearer. It's one of the best scents to have around for those days that you can't really decide what to wear, or you situation doesn't call for one of your niche perfumes. Lasts all day as well and pulls compliments in an office. So definitely office safe here (obviously I know lol). Scent: 9.5/10 Longevity: 8/10 Compliment factor: 9/10 Overall: 8.8/10 Absolute masterpiece imo
I particularly love the sweetness and pineapple notes in this Eau de Parfum version. Whilst it doesn’t project very well, it certainly lasts. I’d also recommend it to anyone who fancies Chanel’s Bleu de Chanel but doesn’t want to end up wearing the same scent as everyone else. 10/10
Guys, beware of those idiots spreading misinformation about the perfume. Nothing has been reformulated here. These fools and their obsession with seeming like experts.
Definitely reformulated... even the atomizer changed to create a strong, concentrated blast, rather than a widely dispersing spray; the former atomizer type is usually used for cologne or EDT concentrations, so I think they also reduced the perfume oil concentration of the Parfum :( BdC Parfum used to have a watery and smooth (almost suede-like) sandalwood finish, but the reformulated batches dry down to an oily fougére.
Good scent. As a signature or a 1 and done fragrance, it works well. Personally of the "big 3" I would use YSL Y Le Parfum, which I did for 7 years. I'd rank as follow: YSL Y Le Parfum Bleu de Chanel Parfum Dior Sauvage Parfum overall 8/10
This is honestly my favorite blue fragrance! To me it smells fresh , elegant, manly but smooth, and works for any occasion and any season. Out of my 8 fragrances Bleu De Chanel Parfum is definitely my favorite. My only complaint is the performance, not sure why but on my skin I only get about 4-6 hours longevity , while on clothes it lasts a lot longer at about 7-8 hours. I can still smell it on my clothes the next day but very vaguely, I feel like for the price point , it should have better longevity.
