Gentleman Eau de Parfum Boisée

One of the best smells I've come across. Better than Reserve Prive. The soft spices, iris and cocoa sweetness is incredibly alluring. Givenchy is an LVMH brand so you know the raw material quality is there. Powder not overdone in the dry down. Intimate projector. Date night slayer. Use this to seduce someone. Excels in late summer into fall. Performance bros may be disappointed. It's a soft type dna. I spray this on at night to selfishly indulge in this wonderful scent. It's that good.

Absolutely wonderful fragrance. It opens slightly spicy but also fresh, bordering on almost mentholated from the geranium note -- but settles quickly into something more powdery and woody while retaining that spiciness from the cacao (also, there has to be some unlisted cardamom in this fragrance hiding in the notes somewhere..) This is a woody fragrance that can be worn by a man at any age. It does not carry that woodworking or woodshop type of dry, piercing wood -- it moreso smells like an expensive hotel lobby that has large slabs of red cedar in their reception. It's very addictive, warm and slightly sweet. One of the best designer fragrances in my book and would work for literally every occasion you can think of.

This is a perfume for an elegant gentleman, it truly lives up to its name! I really love how it opens spicy but transforms into a powdery floral scent after some time, while staying masculine. It is quiet and subtle, but definitely present. 8/10.

Givenchy Gentleman EDP Boisée Cinnamon, pepper, floral-soapy (the iris probably), orange, earthy, cocoa powder (matte), vanilla, fresh green wood (cedar), subtle sweetness...sandalwood. The two wood types combined with the other aromas, leads to an oak perception at times. These powdery tones subsequently turn more creamy...chocolatey. I really enjoy this fragrance...the top notes at the very start seem to lean rather heavily on the floral side, to the point it becomes quite soapy (not necessarily bad)...yet it then balances out much better.

This is an amazing elegant formal type scent. The iris is there but much more subtle than others in this type. The pepper is a nice touch and balances it out well and gives it an interesting touch. Drydown is smooth woody iris with a hint of patchouli. I love this stuff, maybe not my wifes favorite, but its different enough to be interesting but smells good enough to please most. Performance Id say is about average. Longevity is probably about 5-6 hours, projection moderate/low for about 2 hours. Perfect for a nice date out or at a formal event. 9/10 for me and is in my current rotation.

On me it is a beautiful cloud of woody, peppery, cocoa-ish iris. Beautiful floral and slightly green sweet nuances. Quietly gentlemanly and a bit introvert.

The best Gentleman! Not a fan of the way Givenchy do their iris but if you subdue it enough and let woods in, you get a mass appealing sophisticated and elegant fragrance with a touch of mystery. Would love to rock this in the office!

Iris, cocoa & woods? I wasn’t expecting Boisee to smell so beautiful. Clean. Its softness is key to its versatility. No rough edges here. not very woody/ spicy as some say.. I see original sticker design batches read ‘Burning woods’ as a note on the tester bottles. Quite floral, the Iris seems like it’s mixed w/ a cool violet. Very nice & easy to wear. Drys down sweet (patchouli) purple floral. Edit 7/1/26: After returning my 1st bottle for a better priced bottle- Seems to be batch variations.. it’s either soft floral polite gentleman or lite sweet, woodsy gentleman. I prefer the floral, it’s special. Sadly I don’t detect any cacao whatsoever. Scent wise it’s closest to the edt intense version. This Boisee is just a touch too much sweetness for me. NOTHING TOPS THE OG EDP 👑

bought it because I was sure I am buying reserve prevee. Dont want to even open, when tried in the shop it was a very unpleasant smell, like some juices from the body...

Stunning iris fragrance, probably the best of that 'genre'. But the crappy performance and longevity are criminal given the high price. Givenchy is guilty of this repeatedly - beautiful fragrance one can't buy because it's too much money for juice that disappears in a couple of hours. Would be the perfect office fragrance if the longevity were improved.

For me, Gentleman Givenchy Eau de Parfum Boisée is an all-round solid fragrance. You can wear it in almost any situation, and it smells good without trying too hard to stand out. It doesn’t necessarily have a strong personality in my opinion, but that’s also part of its strength. It works very well as an everyday scent. You won’t stand out in a crowd, but you’ll smell pleasant and put-together. It’s a widely worn style of fragrance that doesn’t offend anyone. Because of that, it leaves a good impression without being too “in your face,” as long as you don’t overspray. Performance is solid. Longevity and projection are both good and reliable. It’s also versatile enough to be worn in more formal settings. The scent does develop over time, but compared to fragrances that change a lot, this one remains fairly linear. The bottle looks good, and the atomizer works well. I can easily see myself reaching for this when I just want to quickly put on something that smells nice and works in any situation. Overall, it’s a safe choice, and it’s hard to go wrong with it. The price also feels fair for what you get.

Tried this in store today. I don't have any experience with any of the modern Givenchy fragrances but this really impressed me. I'm a sucker for iris fragrances but the inclusion of the cacao pod is a really nice addition and smells fantastic.

It's a cozy warm spicy scent, very approachable, easy to like. Reminds me a lot of YSL La Nuit de l'Homme but equally as good. Great for a night out, cold day, or relaxing at home. Age range: 20 and up. Casual or night out scent. Overall rating 7/10.

Smells so good. Not a projector but the scent lingers and has good longevity. Easily smell it on my clothes the next day. It's a beautiful intimate scent. No citrus no lavender so it doesn't smell basic yet still fresh and clean. Elevated scent profile. People will know you're wearing something special. Got a full bottle I'm a fan.

Incredible fragrance. Givenchy is up there for my personal favorite designer brand when it comes to perfumes. This one in particular is seemingly attention grabbing. The opening has just the right touch of black pepper and geranium while the dry down opens into this iris and sandalwood accord. This scent has good longevity, and I would recommend wearing during the cooler months. You should be able to pull compliments easily with this one, and don't be afraid to wear to the office! 8.5/10.

It's my favorite fragrance from Givenchy. It's quite versatile and unique scent. The Iris isn't too strong, notes are well blended

Everyone talking about projection and longevity issues but I've had a bottle of this since 2022 and I hardly wear it because it's too strong. Not sure if it's been reformulated in the 4 years I've owned it but my bottle is 60ml and I've only used about 55% since 2022. I will say, at first it wasn't so musky/woody but it's definitely gotten stronger over time. I like the violet note, and the iris, but on the whole there's something that just smells too overpowering/old Man-ish to me. Overall it's a good scent but not my first to reach for in my collection. Good for nighttime and special occasion, wouldn't really wear it to office, gym, or in a hot climate.

So beautiful powdery buttery iris with freshness and woody base. Smells clean and sexy very classy and elegant . Tbh I find Givenchy iris to be better and more wearable than Dior’s. Projection is though very soft but it last and linger for a good time

Smelt like Kiwi shoe polish to me

Sure, a beautifully blended scent I love it but the performance is abysmal. Even in cold weather with 3 sprays I get below average projection and longevity and let’s not even talk about sillage. I may have to up the sprays to like 12 perhaps then it may perform.

الرائحة غير ماتوقعت تماما، ممتاز ولكن مختلف عن وصف البعض اهم مفاجئة ان الرائحة ليست سوسنية، ليس فيها رائحة السوسن وبودريته. الرائحة الطاغية هي خشب العطور (وليس خشب حقيقي، اي رائحة ترابية كريمية قليلا) مع بودرة الكاكاو ولكن خفيفة وليست قورماندية (شيء جيد) تقريبا هذه هي الرائحة الطاغية الا اذا ركزت بشكل مبالغ لشم باقي النوتات. الرائحة جيدة وخفيفة وانيقة وليست صاخبة. خامة نوتة الخشب المستخدمة اعجبتني جدا فيها اناقة وفخامة لا خفيفة ولا ثقيلة. ماجربت الفوحان ولكن اتصور انه خفيف ويجب عليك الاكثار من الرش لان انتشاره ضعيف اخف من نسخة البرايف الرائحة ٨.٥ مميز ويسحق الاقتناء ولكن انتبه انه لايعتبر فرع عن جنتلمان الاصل لان ليس فيه رائحة السوسن، بل يعتبر عطر منفصل باقي العوامل لا اعلم الى الان - The scent is completely different from what I expected. It is excellent, but not as some people describe it. The biggest surprise is that it is not an iris fragrance at all. There is no iris note and no powdery iris character. The dominant profile is perfumery woods, not real wood, meaning a slightly creamy, earthy woody smell, combined with light cocoa powder. It is not gourmand, which is a good thing. This is essentially the main scent unless you focus excessively to pick up the other notes. The fragrance is pleasant, light, and elegant, not loud at all. I really liked the variant of the woody note used here. It has elegance and a refined feel, neither light nor heavy. I have not tested the projection yet, but I expect it to be on the lighter side, requiring more sprays due to weak projection from my land and clothes when I smell it myself. It is lighter than the Prive version. Scent 8.5/10 Distinctive and worth owning, but be aware that it should not be considered a flanker of the original Gentleman, as it does not contain an iris note at all. It should be treated as a standalone fragrance. Other aspects are still unknown to me at this point.

Exceptional creation, subdued performance. One of the best of the Gentleman line, in terms of scent. Far better than the thick, boozy Privee. However, the performance is decidedly lackluster, in both longevity and sillage/projection. This may be a benefit in environments sensitive to fragrance, or office settings, but I personally prefer something that will last and project for at least a couple hours. This (at least for me) does not. But it is damn good. I love it regardless and just spray it on as a feel-good frag...

I’ve seen someone say this smells like a mix between D&G The One and Dior Homme 2020 and I think I completelt agree. Warm, slightly chocolatly (but never gourmand), but also quite fresh, spicy and woody. Very versatile. Could see it being used from an office scent to a date night fragrance. Just wouldn’t use it in very hot summer days as it may be too much.

A very pleasant masculine fragrance reminiscent of D&G The One, but better overall in my opinion. Also reminds me a little bit of Issey Miyake Wood & Wood. Boisee is less mature smelling than Reserve Privee, which is a good thing for me and the reason I prefer Boisee. It is also more versatile than Reserve Privee. I currently also own Gentleman EDP and Gentleman Society Ambree. All three have their own unique character and perform very well.

Fragrance Journal Entry #168 So this one stays true to the original Gentlemen dna but in my oppinion does everything better. It's the most elegant smelling one in the line which makes it stand out a bit more to me. Very powdery iris, with added powder from the cocao pod, lots of clean woody notes and patchouli are what i mostly pick up on. Where this one falls short is the performance category with longevity being average at best and projection being soft, so this is best reserved as a sort of "professional date night" kind of scent. It's likeable but not a must own for me. Rating: 7.3/10 Blind Buy Safe? NO

Great smell, for some reason does not develop well in my nose compared to the reserve prevee. How many sprays you guys use?
