I have a full 50ml bottle available for a reasonable price. EU- based transaction preferred. DM mse if you’re interested.
I Love the scent but unfortunately it seems that some ingredients out of "200" is really in disagreement with my sinuses, it really hurts. Wish it didn't so that I could wear it as my signature. Sad indeed!
Quality scent, but nothing unique. Smells very similar to another great fragrance. Considering the perfumer, the quality is no surprise.
Reference: Vintage apple-shaped, hand-grenade, lampshade, opaqueish-green bottles from back in the day Heartbreaking fragrance for me. So, so good-smelling, yet it is so fleeting on skin. Ephemerality: it's falling in love with an adult mayfly, one with no mouthparts and only hours to live. Where are the Middle Eastern houses on this DNA?
This is Loewe for me AMAZING
I don't know why no one says it's similar to Creed Himalaya. I've been wearing Creed Himalaya for a long time, and my first association was with it; they're almost 8 out of 10 similar. Loewe's Esencia pour Homme is a little more long-lasting, more energetic, and more diverse. Creed Himalaya is simpler.
I love the opening- it's glorious - Aromatic, green, refreshing - shaving foam-esque in the all the best ways. Unfortunately, the dry down conjures images of hairy chests, gold chains and money laundering...
I've only worn my sample of this a few times, but my first impression is that, while it smells undoubtably good, it does not smell like a fragrance that should retail for $150 for 3.4oz. Even the vastly cheaper $97 for 5.1oz that Fragrancenet is currently selling it for seems overpriced. I would be very happy with this if I found it at drug store prices (e.g. Agua Brava), and I would be satisfied with it if I could get it for $30 (e.g. Paco Rabanne Pour Homme). But as of today, I do not think I would ever buy this. Will update if my opinion changes. In short, Loewe Esencia Pour Homme smells great, but not for the price tag.
Very manly dark green scent. Pine tree all over it; I can clearly pick out the leather and the lavender, but the rest seems well blended to my nose. A solid fragrance, but I know few man these days who would fit this smell - and i'm not one of them. Note: this fragrance gave me a curious feeling, it instantly reminded me of slate, which was very popular in construction here in Brazil before the 1990's. As a late 90's kid, i've been in many houses where slate was widely used, including my grandparents' home. Slate, after being polished, go really dark green, just like the smell of this fragrance, especially in the opening. It was a very nostalgic feeling, since slate had been completely forgotten in my mind.
Smells like dignity & calm confidence!
Great, old school men's green fragrance. The pine stands out to me. I don't get the comparisons with Polo Green because that fragrance has the strong tobacco note. The problem is, I have the new, rectangular bottle and it is really weak
On me they smell like juniper, bath and garlic lard
very very very very WEAK 🥲
I own both the old reformulated round bottle and the new design, and they smell pretty much the same. The only small difference is that the old bottle appears a bit creamier, but it's negligible. I expect the new bottle will probably develop with the same qualities at some point down the line. Regardless, Esencia was reformulated long long ago, stripped of oakmoss, but it still remains a fresh, elegant and well balanced coniferous fragrance that fans of classic structured scents will surely appreciate. Loewe still manages to impress, after all these years, even after the redesign of this and Loewe Pour Homme.
You better Make a unique bottle for this gorgeous perfume I love the retro bottle
I never had the chance to smell the first releases. I just tried one recent bottle last month. Mom and wife liked it, but I was neutral. So I gave it another go the other day. First of all, performance is fine in terms of projection and sillage. Unfortunately, lavender is not that obvious since pine is the main note. Therefore, it reminded me of pine bathroom cleaners like Bref or Domestos. Furthermore, the black currant is there. Even though a bit thin, it can overwhelm in warm weather. So better suited for cooler temperatures.
Class. Pure Class.
Surprised it hasn't been compared yet to YSL Rive Gauche PH, or even Barbasol w/ less lavender. Very similar to the "La Collection" reboot, though not as mossy, + a bit more sheer / transparent. Doesn't project as much as YSL's and that's ok. Better to smell like you've washed yourself w fancy soaps, rather than smelling like you forgot to rinse the soap off. That said: I'm still on the lookout for something more herbal (natural?) in the place of Esencia EDT's shaving cream qualities, like the now-discontinued Eloge du Traitre or Xeryus. My guess is fougeres generally lean soapy, so maybe I need to use different keywords
In the category of classic outdoorsy green men's fragrances, this is the classiest. I tried Polo after this and it's like Polo is the clumsy loud version that's trying too hard to project masculinity, while Loewe is refined, smooth, and projects calm confidence.
This perfume was created by Olivier Cresp and Jacques Chabert
Instant love. So fresh, uplifting and green. Wearing this in the summer will no doubt beat all of the generic blue fragrances. 10/10
To me this smells of a cedar or juniper forest with a hint of vetiver at the end and a touch of various subdued sweet or maybe florals at various points along the way. Sage, a very slight syrupy sweetness, all very smooth. Patchouli, musk, leather. Maybe like a very high quality Brut vibe if you took away all the harshness. Pure manliness. This is how you smell if you were out clearing cedar and juniper trees off your property in Oregon that is surrounded by sage bushes, your garden flowers are blooming and you have a handful of blackberries for a snack while wearing leather gloves. Long lasting on me. I use 5 sprays and one more at noon. Great for office or out and about. I dont think this would be a date scent. If the barber sprayed you with this after a haircut you would probably ask where to get some. If you are tired of being a vanilla powder cupcake boi this is your scent.
guys, the older reformulation with the golden cap is way much better
Genuinely one of the most exquisite and refined green fragrances I have ever smelt. It is delightfully old school, a well-rounded fragrance that is timeless and masculine. This does make one think of Polo, but in the sense that Polo is the unrefined uncle that is more flannel and denim and this is the nephew who lives in the Country Club circles. Great performance for an EDT, and I would argue that this is a nearly year round fragrance depending on wear you live. I wouldn't wear it if its excessively hot and humid, but definitely safe enough for springtime
Hands down the best fougere out there.no vanilla or amber notes just pure freshness without smelling like shower gel. My father wears this since I was a kid. It’s a classic sophisticated aromatic scent that is super unique, nothing that I have tried comes close to the EDT. If you want a no nonsense male scent that WILL get you compliments wear this. 10/10 masterpiece
First impression- Spicy dry coriander, sharp fragrance. In dry down it is very similar to Lalique lion plus guerlain heritage. I don't see much greenness or similarity to POLO green. Sometime remind you of jaguar green though.
This EDT (not to be confused with the EDP and Elixir versions) is one of the greenest/freshest scents you can imagine. It's natural smelling like you walked outside and there is a forest or a garden around and you're smelling the trees and the woods and everything in nature. It does resemble polo green but it's a different take on that scent DNA. Polo is very mossy and dark and the tobacco note is very overwhelming. However Loewe is very fresh without any tobacco note. It's also more cloudy and airy making it wearable in all occasions and seasons. A good signature scent. The waft that this gives off in the air is beautiful. It's like a fresh breathe of air in nature. Performance is great. Longevity is pretty much all day. Sillage is outstanding, you and people around you will get wafts of it in the air as you move around. P.s, I got the newest rectangular bottle design (2024 batch code). I don't know how the vintage version is.
I don't get the comparisons to Polo. This is Classic Barbershop /Luxury Shave Soap with Lavender & Pine . A little pricey but good performance.
This is a beautiful pungent, herbal old-school scent. I'm partial to tarragon, so if you're not, take this review with a grain of salt. I have the drum-shaped bottle and have not smelled the juice in the new bottle. I get good projection for about an hour. On skin, I get about 4-5 hours of longevity and 7-8 on clothes.
• Very good. • This is a 'designer green' to rival the numerous designer blues and it doesn't veer into the cartoonish barbershop or culinary notes of some other 1970s-1980s 'green' fragrances. • The Aventus comparison reviews are on the wrong page. This is the classic EDT. For some reason, the EDP version is an Aventus-style fragrance. It's disappointing that Loewe is following in the footsteps of ruined brands like Ungaro by re-using old names for new fragrances.
